Mccutchen definitely deserves another year
Cutch is the Heart and Soul of the Pirates and we don't need a transplant.
So glad Cutch wants to come back ! All I can say is never let go of your best. Thank you DK
Love Cutch! So glad he came back! Its amazing what he is doing at his age .
Hey DK, I was walking around PNC recently. I was looking at the slope that has all of the retired numbers on it and wondered how they would rearrange the numbers if they retired another number. Then I started to wonder if they would retire McCutchen’s number. The more I think about it, the more I think they should. He keeps rising up the career Pirate leader boards in a lot of hitting categories. The only people he is around are the people on that slope.
Cutch is gold Jerry…gold!
Cutch remains the face of the franchise, he is beloved as well as productive. He brings fans to the ballpark, so if Cutch wants to play in 2025 he will return!
I hate to say it, but you're right about Cutch, DK. He's our DH for next year. He's earned it. It would be nice if he could play first, though!
I know we haven't had one since Stargell, but Cutch should come back next year and giving a Captain Status. Then after retirement give to Reynolds.
Clutch could play for Pittsburgh till he is 43 lol we love and trust that man. 22 cutch
Dejan, all of the games the Pirates play in the regular season matter. At least to fans, not to the jabronis who run the ream. They need to try to win. It's been their constant failing.
If the Pirate players are still very motivated to win games this season, then I certainly want them to win games. Look at what they're up against: Cherington doesn't care if they win, Shelton designs ways for the team to lose, etc. That's absolutely unconscionable, and I applaud the players every time they compete hard despite EVERYTHING.
What I respect about these players the most is that no matter how much they're disrespected by their own organization, they *refuse* to lose their self-respect. That's both a very admirable (as well as an exceptional) quality to have.
I have to agree with Barry. There's no better way to quell dissent than put a few yes man/tattletales dispersed among people. Where I work we have a few and anytime someone is upset or annoyed with a situation that management can't or won't solve that person gets pulled into the office and gets a stern talking to about their attitude. Trust me. It happens to me at least twice a month. But sometimes things are so ridiculous that it just comes out. "Troublemakers" are let go. Cherington is a small man that needs affirmation by a bunch of yes men. Good shows and great takes on this organization.
Keep Cutch or else!
DK , as a follow-up question to your J1Q, concerning the way the hope of this season has dissipated, do you think the ball club - from the locker room situation that transpired -has sensed a division and/or potential problem among the players, or do you feel that one of the positives of this current Pirates team a cohesiveness that was so evident to the fans earlier this season, or is the uncertainty of possible changes in manager and coaches becoming a dividing factor?
Barry nailed it. The Pirates can't allow another Travis Snider. They fear pushback from the players.
Finally.
