New intro is great! Thanks for the motor comparison, finding the right motors can be like going down a rabbit hole... 3rd times the charm for my 3lb bot. Repeat Robotics motors would have been my choice if they were in stock at the time, but Fingertech is great too. For small brushed motors, having a controller with current limiting goes a long way!
Great point! Thank you for the kind words. Fiveer to the rescue with logo and new intro lol. I love the mega spark from fingertech for beetles. We run fingertech and Repeats in our beetles and both are awesome. I think it is time fingertech gives us a new 16mm gear motor. Thanks for watching as always!
I agree about the repeat brushed gearboxes being much more robust than the silver sparks. My failure mode with the repeats has been the back of the motor popping off with big hits. At the last event, we added some 3D printed supports and got dramatically improved durability from the repeat brushed motors.
Thank you. I was showing my wife one of your videos... She said that's the guy that helped us at her first ever fight at the 2023 Orlando Maker Faire.. nibbler took out her kill switch.. you were kind enough to sell us one of your spares..
Thanks for the info! I just got some repeat brushless to upgrade the drive in my plastic ant, which currently uses 2x maxon 139885. Any recommendations for batteries on brushed vs brushless?

That has happened to me as well. The last couple competitions I had no issues however.
Another newbie here. Thank you for posting the videos. I am learning alot about antweight bots watching your videos.
If you have any specific questions just ask!

@@robertrussell6324 I am disappointed in myself .. I should of given it to you lol Always willing to help.
I think you tried? We did not mind buying it from you. Andy did have any at the PBB booth and he was sure you would.
@@robertrussell6324 lol 2 is 1 and 1 is none!
Great vid. That’s for sharing so much info.
Glad it was helpful!
Great advice for me as a beginner!.... i am not an engineer either.... in my neck of the woods i call engineers unqualified tradesman!
lol In the oil field we had to distract the engineers to get the job done.

I usually run a 3S 300mah or 3S-450 mah battery. I usually use the Palm power batteries from Palm Beach Bots.
