Nice one buddy, bad output jacks are the bane of cheaper guitars, well, the entire electrical system really, had a guy change out all his electrics but kept the old output jack in situ and was having issues with the signal cutting out, didn't take long to figure out what the culprit was.
What if the entire chord needs a replacement, it’s very hard to reach between the wires for me. How can you tell the hot wire location inside the electronics bay?

The ground wire will be soldered to the backof a pot- the other wire coming form the output jack will be the hot wire.
At the begining you say soméhing about the string job? Its strung better than the way i change mine.
