I miss the old intro: 🎼🎶Foresty Forest, He lives in a van. Foresty Forest!🎵
One of my favorite tunes! : )
Me too!
Its playing in my head: "Foresty Forrest, He lives in a van... and then he goes up a real steep mountain and does some real scary shit and then he comes back to his really cozy van and does some real nice food and stuff... Foresty Forrest"
It's brutal when it is stuck in your head for days though, lol.
Why'd he stop using it anyways?
The couple approached them trying their best to hide the feeling of bafflement upon seeing a passenger van at the site.
The look on the dogs face while you drove was priceless LOL
I often "smash that like button" at the beginning (so I don't forget), then find myself looking to smash it again several times during the video.
4x4ing, winching, bagging peaks! If only the slow cooker was alive to see this!
Her upbeat lively personality always makes her cameo always worthwhile
It's so cool that you & Amanda meet up often. Adds to both your channels. 👍
One thought on 4x4 expenses and how to justify them. A full blown mountain recovery tow can cost a small fortune. What you spend on extra equipment for the van is just insurance against having to call for the sasquatch tow truck.
I would definitely consider a skid plate to cover the oil pan and one for your gas tank also some protection for coolant line and
There was a vid about a truck in repair shop. The truck owner had fit a plasic sled up underneath. It was ama,ing at how clean/less salt affect on under carriage where it was! Too bad mfg dont do more of that. Thing of how many parts may still be on vh rather than landfills! Awesome trailblazing! Have fun 💯💥🌟
Love when you both are in the video she is so happy her laughing is great and Forest well I just love all your videos.
In all of the CAN back-country videos I've ever seen, Amanda HAS to be the biggest female adventurer out there!
Kudos to her for her enthusiasm and willingness to just GO! Well, her AND Frank. ;)
“Toilet with a view,” made me chuckle 😆
Amanda's van looks like the Scooby Doo mystery van.
Great to see you not spending time alone. Good friends are priceless Its nice to know someone has your back. Great Video.
I love how Amanda toughs it out and follows Forest up those summits!
As a confirmed glacier chaser I've been on more poorly maintained mining roads in northern BC, Yukon and parts of Alaska than I can remember. The going up is one thing but pay close attention coming back down. The time to slow is well before you think you might need to, its scary with the vehicle stopped but the gravel under you is rolling down hill for instance. Only way out of that is accelerate, get ahead of the rolling rock. But with a 20% grade and a thousand foot shear drop off and a hairpin just ahead.... Going down is also way harder on your brakes than you might assume as well. Sufficient rest periods to allow them to shed heat are advised. Love what you do, BTW.
*Stops what I’m doing immediately.
Foresty Time!!!
I don't know anything about the Flint mine, but as a geologist and hearing them say the mineral is galena, and seeing the carbonates at 11:51, I can assume that this is a Mississippi-valley-type deposit (MVT). They are common sources of lead (galena) and zinc (sphalerite). After the sedimentary rocks (carbonates) were buried, low temperature and saline fluids slowly percolated through the pore spaces depositing stratabound zones of ore minerals.
this guy rocks
(i am so sorry)
@@pandabacon8120 cool thanks for that!
@@pikaporeon Somebody had to say it!!
Frank looked a little worried, but I never doubted for a minute that you guys could do it! Love the teamwork!!
After a truly dreadful Thursday, to come home and find a new video from Foresty Forest on RUclips totally makes me forget what a bad day I've had and makes me want to get a van and emigrate to BC. Thanks for making my day better 👍
Amanda is all smiles looks like she loves the adventure and she knows how full of it Forestry is
Man! What a terrific expedition up to Flint mine!Great "How to tow your vehicle, out of a jam"! Lol! I could not have done any better! Good job!Great company this , video! She, s a keeper!👌
You three together makes me smile for some reason. Similar feeling to when i first watched aladdin..so weird
Amanda looks like she is having the funnest time!
'better stupid together than stupid alone' am rolling on the floor laughing my a - - off! Priceless.
Best episode ever...music was perfect and that gals laugh is infectious!! lol..Thanks for the good time!
Or annoying
@@skinnflint Oh grump yourself away.
Both cute xd
I'm glad you 2 found each other, you guys laugh and smile! Ur good for each other!
You did fine Simon, you have one thing that cannot be purchased..... COMMON SENSE!. Stay safe
Foresty Forest confesses he’s “A Wing Man”. Winging it with a woman riding shotgun replacing Old Man Crock! Be safe, be safe. Good to see you made some investments for future 4x4 fun. Good to see you Amanda & Frank... looking good! Great adventure. ❤️❤️❤️
"Better stupid together, than stupid alone."
That's not a stupid insight.
Get that on a t-shirt and I will invest in one
This reminded me of something Forest Gump would say.
Yup. Amanda's got it down. Great gal!
who is the more foolish; the fool, or fool that follows him
I think that might be the Manson family motto.
"Shackles and Candy, comin' to a town near you". You are too much, FF LOL I've been subscribed to Amanda and Frank for a while thanks to you. I really like her channel a lot! Be careful out there!
😂🤣
Frank, tidelinetoalpine and foresty forest , good vibes.
Yes
Foresty, Amanda and Frank! Nothing better than that! Frank does look a bit worried though!
@FF...what love will compell you to do!
LOL!
The look on the puppy dogs face sez it all.
I like seeing u two collaborate.
Some of my fav episodes 😎
What a grand adventure!! Those were some fantastic back roads! Love watching and following both you and Amanda. And of course, Frank❣️🐾
Excellent video, needs some drama. Add Kira to the adventures again...
The rocks fence-wire wrapped around the stove--genius! Loved this video!
Great to see you and Amanda hanging out again, More please. Her giggles and laugh warm my soul. How about a dual cooking segment.
Currently, I’m stuck in Florida. Not for too long more. So I am living vicariously through your videos. Thanks bud.
im here as well, flat and boring
Florida seems dangerous only gators there and dangerous weather
So glad you have someone to share the fun 🤩
1:40 is exciting yikes! that van's abilities - and your stoic driving - are absolutely stunning
Getting your moneys worth out of that winch! Your fearlessness is inspirational. I’m stunned that you left that mountain with your gas tank attached😉 another awesome adventure!
That truck is not designed for this stuff. He actually ran that cable across his differential. He should price differentials.
Amazing adventure! The camera never does justice on how steep that drive probably was. It was nice to see that ore cart, drill and inside the adit. Great video!
Absolutely love her laugh ... well done you two
Pretty sure those other buildings you saw are the Mt Carlyle Lodge. I was there for backcountry skiing just before the whole COVID thing kicked off. Beautiful place to be in the winter! When you zoomed in on it I was like "woah I've been there!"
When you go serious off roading you must air down your tires for wider foot print traction and less tire punctures from sharp edge rocks and shales. Other than that you did good 👍🏻
Good tip. Always air down when seriously off-road. But airing down doesn't really widen your footprint to any significant degree. What airing down does do is lengthen the footprint, which decreases point loading on the tire (less chance of punctures) and provides more traction on loose surfaces by distributing the load over a longer surface area. That's why tracks work so well for heavy vehicles like tanks and such. Long footprint.
I was just about to say the same thing. Before using a winch, or traction ramps, air down the tires first. Not sure what tires you have, but I have BFG KO2s on my Silverado, and dropping them down to 20 or even 15 psi makes a huge difference. They can actually grab onto and around rocks when they deform. But, obviously, you want to make sure you have a reliable compressor with you to air them back up again. And truck tires need a powerful one to be able to fill up tires on a 100% duty cycle without overheating.
Might also want to look at a custom rear bumper, with d-rings and hitch built into it. Something that doesn't stick out or down as far, will give you a better departure angle.
Glad to see the van running good again, Simon. Really enjoying your adventures!
It was his first time to drive a 4x4 I think..🤔🤔
@@mrcompatable Also protects the suspension by dampening the shocks and vibrations coming from the rough road surface.
100%
You two are a hoot together!! Loved this.
Watching you use your wench was so cool. You and Amanda seem to really get along and like doing the same things. As Amanda indicated it's a lot more to do stupid together than stupid alone. Thanks for sharing your adventure and thoughts. The climb and views were epic.
@Laurie Hughes I think you mean "winch." If Foresty was using his "wench" I suspect Amanda would have something to say about it! 😉
@@thomascollins4325 or it would be an only fans.
Two of my new favorite people......and dog. Thanks for the video! Enjoyed watching!
Now that was a trail. Good job. Imagine the odds of running into someone up there. Great video. Take care, Al
Yeah...I thought that was kinda creepy.
@@AZ-vt7dt Maybe they were groupies.
I always get nervous around cables and high loads. We had a young fellow killed a few years ago that were using chain for a recovery and it snapped. Stay out of the whip zone!
You did just fine winching. Most important thing to keep learning.
0:54 Awww, puppy!! The look on the dog’s face!! 🐶🤣🤣🤣
Frank's face right at the beginning, "Wait, what? I didn't sign up for stupid today!"
😂
It’s going to sting or sever a limb!!🤣🤣 Amanda didn’t have the right shoes!! She should know the forester better than that by now!! Great vid.
"Give me a snatch block and enough cable and I can move all the vans in the world." - Archimedes probably
The look on Franks face during that first switchback lmao!!!
Those eye's were priceless.
"""Some""" say animals don't have personalities. Frank's look was sure panic. OMG OMG I can't see where were going. Mom, Moom MOMMMYYYY
Better stupid together than stupid alone! Haha love it! You guys are epically rad together
Lol That dogs look at 56 seconds. ROFL. Dogs are truly our best buds.
I like your friend! :-) Getting thru that road was frickin amazing. Like it was you two's job (only-no one else) to clear the whole dang path!!!! Impressive.
Foresty, I do stupid things without planning to! Join the club! 🤣😂👍
Old mines are always interesting if you're careful. Great video as always!!! Nice to see Frank max'in and relax'in! 🐶
That's right Amanda. Better to do something stupid together than alone. Flint Mine tour - cool! Thanks for the adventure. And wow, others came too. It seemed so difficult to get there, but thanks to team work you guys cleared the way. Good job.

Haha, love how the dog looks so concerned bouncing around on the way up!
11:10 Always love Forresty’s dry wit 😄
Loved the loo with a view. Awesome to see yourself, Amanda and Frank having fun.
FF has no fear! This guy is pure adventure 🙂
Climbing the mountain for love? I see happiness looming...❤️❤️
Incredible footage, great learning experience on those trails! Tide to alpine is a great companion on your forays into adventure…
You did much better winching than many 4x4 yt channels out there. Thanks for sharing Foresty Forest.
That sweater was foghorn brewings best marketing decision ever!
A Sauna....
These miners were living high class here...
Toilet with a View....
Thank you for another great video....
I enjoyed the footage of you going through the technical stuff. Having a friend with you on the trip broke up the usual monotony I'm sure. She seems like a fun gal.
That was an amazing show. Seeing what the van could do was also fun to watch. Thanks.
Should check into something like a Yankum Kinetic Rope . You can hold the brakes on the van , hook winch cable to the rope . Then pull a lot of stretch in the rope . then let off brake , run winch cable in and try to drive slowly in that direction . The winch gets slack in it to fast when driving ahead , the stretch of the rope will give a much longer pull with out winch cable getting slack . And you can jerk on another vehicle and not get that big jolt at the end .
Love seeing you and Amanda out on an adventure together.
Did Frank get a morsel of your yummy steak? 🐶🔥🥩🇨🇦❤
Holy crap, just realized I met Amanda and Frank on the PCT back in 2019. We ran into each other around the Mt. Adams area in Washington. Nice to see them again! Greetings from Iceman
We use Toyo m55's in the bush on the work trucks and I have been running them for many years on my personal truck, kinda loud on the highway and expensive, but they are the toughest tire you can buy
What a great adventure! Thanks for sharing that!!!
Finally found another person to keep up with you
enjoy video
I didn't think you would make it, what a bumpy ride,
its nice to have company.
luv the views .
thank you for sharing,
much appreciated.
Aside from adding some sort of locking rear differential, you may want to look into a beefier tie rod, or at least spares. The stock GM ones are known for snapping quickly and at the least opportune times. Kryptonite makes truck/SUV stuff, not sure about vans.
For sure get a sheath, and think about a cable weight or putting something heavy on the cable if it breaks.
Thanks I'll do some research and see what comes up. There should be some kind of offroad aftermarket available for it.
Looking at my tie rod, its stamped with Moog. I have a feeling the Quigley conversion means a lot of the components were beefed up.
@@forestyforest Blitzkrieg motor sports has made some custom tire rods for me in the past, but I’m not sure if they are still in business.
Simon and Amanda struggle and pull out all the winch tricks to get up the road. Meet up with more friends at the mine. How did THEY get there? Did they paramotor in?
The van kicked some butt. At least you're learning the ropes wrt winching.
LOL Creepy white van with shackles and candy. I love your humor. Great video... you could do commercials! LOL
Amanda makes things so fun that I want to join you guys. 😜😜
Your van must be Loud inside on those rough roads - I imagine the spice bottles playing a tune jumping up and down ! 😆
Your van is awesome Foresty
So you need that weldtek lift kit chrome has. And his tires.
He's somewhere in BC, just put his van on some cinderblocks, he won't notice ;)
That's was pretty amazing !!! Thank you for sharing ❤️👍
I love vids when your both on. You two rule
Very cool seeing an old mining camp. Awesome video ❤️
That's an adventure driving through all that rock .... I'm saying prayers for your tires. Awesome video.
Loved your mining camp adventure.Hope to see more.
Love the off roading and looking forward to seeing more!
Love the reggae, awesome video as always!
This was a great video! I love colaboration videos. I also enjoyed watching you try new things with your 4x4 van.
Digging this video, that summit was super rocky, tough ride up, but well worth it! FF keep it up!!!
Omg this was awesome. You are both seriously great doing this. Great Great video. Thank you. More please
