Thank you for sharing. Also there are the scammers who still your house deed and turn around to sell your house. We all need to watch out and let the good people know about these thieves.
Someone file taxes under my name but I had already filed so when it was rejected by the IRS I was notified via email. I tracked the bank account and tax site they used. The bank would not give me the person’s name but I let everyone know that if it was anyone I knew they would be going to jail after a little street justice. Haven’t had an issue since however I try to stay alert. Glad you got your money back but the trust is broken.

Awww Ro that really sucks 😣😣 people are so foul out here. I think it’s in our nature to give folks the benefit of the doubt, but the truth is, people are trifling 😅😅 I’m glad you got your money back, and thanks for sharing this vulnerable situation. I know it took a lot, but don’t feel bad, cause these scammers full time jobs are to take our money at all costs. We don’t think like they do and it’s cause we work hard the right way for we have. They are the shameful ones…😒

I know EXACTLY how you feel. I received a letter from the IRS for $50,000. I work part-time and don't make that in a year. I had to do a fraudulent application and file a police report to get it cleared up.

Rochelle, I'm sorry this happened to you. Just for future reference, always review your returns with your preparer, even if it costs extra. We should all have a basic understanding of our tax returns. Stay blessed.

I’ve been following your journey (from my other channel) since before you paid off the house and moved to Hawaii so I hate that this happened to you. It’s so important to follow your intuition. The IRS has a free tax calculator which can help people estimate the amount of taxes and proper withholdings throughout the year. Thank you for sharing!

My parents got scammed out of property ( my childhood home) in California years ago. All parties involved with purchasing /selling were in on the scam. It was an eye opener and of course heartbreaking as my parents worked very hard and kept house as a rental to sell for their retirement. They recouped 30 cents on each dollar after attorneys were paid. Numerous others were scammed as well. These scammers steal generational wealth from Americans. I pray all ends up well for yours!

I think your instincts were telling you to go with your new person but you wanted to give the old company the benefit. Glad you got your money back. It's common that this happens. I do hope you had your new tax preparer/accountant review the taxes to ensure you received an the appropriate credits and deductions. And I fully understand your comment about it not being about the money, it if the principle of the situation. I hope the IRS was notified as well so that person/company can never do taxes again and preferably can't with in financial areas.

I feel you! In 2019 I ended owing $76,000. My dad passed and my father in law passed and we had to pay inheritance taxes. Then for the last 4 years my tax person has messed up my taxes and I have to correct the, every time. So yeah I’m finding someone new to due my taxes going forward

Hell no why would you do that…. You never include a 3rd party in money transactions! I’ve been doing taxes for my clients for 20 years!!! If you owe IRS the only people you can pay if you owe is IRS or your state! Nobody can’t pay taxes on your behalf!!!
