I think what I really appreciate about your style versus others who do this kind of thing: even though the suggestions themselves are kind of memey or ridiculous, you always seem to approach them straight on and take them seriously. This isn't like, a funny combination, it's just a good song-- your approach always puts the music first, and it really shows your respect for the styles you're elevating.
You could say the same about Staind. They definitely got less metal as time went on but this sounds like their early stuff. And I'm sure they'd love this too.
For this exact reason, I believe Mark McGrath is THE biggest sellout in music. They had some great music. "Fly" was so out of place on their first album. It became a "hit". And they did NOTHING but bubblegum pop after. Jon (Davis) and Fred (Durst) have to be COMPLETELY ashamed for bringing them to us. 😂
Saw the title and just said,"No way." I used to listen to almost nothing but Staind and similar bands in HS years ago. Still do, but I've expanded my library, lol.
I think he did an amazing job, but he sounds more like Taproot than Staind. Aaron's voice is hard to replicate, mac has done a lot of amazing work and continues to do so
This has to be my favorite one that you have done so far. Love the melodies and great riffs! Please put this up on Spotify so i can spam listening to it.
Me too! Have you heard his take on Bullet With Butterfly Wings if done by The Arctic Monkeys? I have had that on repeat for two days straight now. Every song he does that shouldn't work always does! I am telling all my mates about him, and I am nearly stopping strangers in the street to tell them now!
I don't know how you do it man. Not only do you nail every band's style flawlessly with an original riff, you also nail the vocals and turn it into an absolute banger. Love this! Your Incubus was way too good as well!
Y'know, I was just thinking earlier today that I hadn't listened to Staind for a while, then you post this 😆. Btw, I'd be down for another "if cheVelle wrote _____". Your "Bad Guy" video was on f-ing point, for real dude.
You are scratching both my nu-metal and 90s pop itches. Your ability to make new Staind / disturbed /korn songs out of covers is legitimately unironically beautiful. Those bands got me through some of the worst times of my life. Your style covers feel *good.* Your legitimate love for a genre that people love to shit on shines through clear as day. I needed this today. Thank you for being you.
These videos always bring me great joy. You emulate what makes each bands style with amazing percision and always create a new amazing jam out of old favorites in styles I also love and enjoy. Im making a playlist for the commute with your tracks. Cheers!
Your composition and inflection is amazing, but the part people dont appreciate is the amazing mix on these tracks that really make them sound authentic. Much kudos and respect! 🙏
Mac, please get this on Spotify. I have just added the vast majority of what you do to my Spotify playlist. You are such a phenomenal talent, and your ability to capture the sound of a band is uncanny.
Theres alot of folks here that do this. But you really take a serious approach to it, as if it was your song you wrote. I greatly enjoy listening to your music man. You play every single one in that bands style to the letter. Great job.
It's surprising to me that I think a song sounding more like Staind song could make it sound better, yet here we are. Brings back this familiar feeling of the late 90's/early 2000's rock, not the biggest Staind fan, but I don't hate them. This song sounds better in your rendition, than it originally sounds. Congrats, once again you're able to make something better than the original artist. This has grown to be my favorite music channel on RUclips.

I think that's why occasionally I like his versions better than the originals lol
its like the Yakuza game series. Silly as hell but played completely straight
Comedy is serious business.
It's like good Bizarro fiction. The premise is patently absurd, but when treated with seriousness and craft, you end up with a killer read.
His Incubus plays Heart shaped Box is still my favorite version. It's so twinkly and beautiful, though I still love the original too.
Totally nailed it!!!
it literally sounds like a track from Staind specially form the "Break the cycle" era about 20 years ago...
Thought the same thing.
It does!!

Of all the suggestions on this video, this is the one that needs to be made.
Nah there's another band it'll sound way better with. Just can't think of it.
That one or Just Can't Get Enough by Depeche Mode 😂
the aaron lewis impression at 0:15 is hilarious and spot on
Agreed
The way you make mashups that should never work in any universe ever work so flawlessly is not fair. Stop it. But don't stop.
