  • Claudia Winkleman is joined by child psychologists Laverne Antrobus and Elizabeth Kilbey as families struggling with troublesome toddlers attempt to turn their lives around at the House of Tiny Tearaways. Two of the young couples go home for good and two new arrivals take their place. There's a little boy who's terrorising his mum and baby sister and a little girl who refuses to eat her mum and dad's curry.

    Sammy will not change, she’s more immature than her kids. She gets pregnant to keep her partner by her side but what she doesn’t realise is she’s pushing him away. Her life is just one big pity party.

    I don't like the new format of families coming and going every few days. The six day format for the families was wonderful. This way there is no real time for the families to bond as a unit, work and play together. These ladies are good but they in no way can hold a candle the Tanya!

    The Bailey family has my sympathies but little children dashing in and out of areas that they know they are not supposed to be, laughing and taunting adults the whole while is learned behavior. Todd(?) and Tamzen pull the same antics at bedtime for same reason. It's the very worst sort of attention a little child can get from parents but they'll take it. 😔 Very sad.

    Why is it such a big deal she won't eat traditional food?

    • @marylyn66
      @marylyn66 Год назад +14

      The mother must feel pressure from their families to remain very traditional and their food is a big part of their culture. I don't expect mom can cope with disapproval from extended family clan such as her not being able to ensure her child grows up eating authentic Indian food.

    • @annephillips1870
      @annephillips1870 Год назад +10

      If their family and friends eat curries at social occasions, it means she’s not eating anything. The mother said they sometimes have to go home, because there’s nothing there she can eat. It would be like a child from a European background refusing to eat what is considered to be conventional party food and demanding curry instead.

    • @marylyn66
      @marylyn66 Год назад +6

      Watching Mom during the mealtime on the show she kept talking offering more choices after threatening nothing else and that she will sit there until she eats. I found it confusing. I guess it doesn't matter what the ethnic background is that inspires the child's diet. The eating issue is always the same.

    I think it was the first episode where Samie said that they were famous in their hometown. There are several articles online from when she gave birth to the triplets because the hospital didn't have enough incubators and they had to be moved. I think she must have really enjoyed the attention of being a 17 year old mum of triplets and thinking all the attention from the papers was great so now she has a fourth baby (also saw an article about that, not much must go on in that town!), looking for MORE of that "center of the world" attention. David and she had two more after this ( a girl she was pregnant with at the time and a boy ). Having babies to get yourself attention isn't unheard of, and she is obviously not ready for motherhood when these shows aired. I'd like to say I hope she got better at it, but her and David aren't together anymore so I think that answers the question.

      I get what you're saying but the overwhelming research around removing children shows that kids are better off with their natural parents even when those parents are less than great. Things have to be VERY bad before the benefit will POTENTIALLY outweigh the harm of removing the child.
      Years of child welfare and foster care/adoption studies have shown that children who are removed do not have better outcomes and often end up worse off. I understand how easy it is to throw out a statement that certain parents should just have their kids removed and that will solve the problem but it's simply not reality

    ..sounds to me like these professionals should be couples counselors instead of in childcare. They seem WAY more focused on the relationships of the parents than the actual children :/ I know thats very relevant but it's not the only issue!! These women do NOT seem like they know what they're doing.
    ** brings in a new family and in minutes they note that "this is more about the relationship than the child" **
    what the actual ffkkk??!! I hope the creators AND the female professionals read all our comments and take this to heart. Prolly not tho. It's about money in the end

    I think that’s part of the problem… 46:31 because mom waited til her kid was a year and a half/two years old…this is when kids start sharing their opinions. So of course Anita is going to say no. Plus on that you introduce kids to spices SLOWLY not only so you don’t scare them away but also because their tummies are still evolving.
    The other problem i think is control. Btw Sammy is a whiny little kid herself
