I find that unlikely. Either they would say it was the Welsh round (representing the country of Wales if there was also one in Scotland say) or they would say it was the British round (representing the entire island of Great Britain) or the United Kingdom round (representing the entire soverign state of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland). I found resources hard to come by, but it seems it was either the British round of that years European Rallycross Championship or it was the United Kingdom round. Often with sports it is seen as more tactful to call any round on the island of Great Britain the British round and any round on the island of Ireland the Irish round unless it is in Northern Ireland, in which case it may just be called the Northern Irish round. So as to avoid the political issues related to Northern Ireland.
Disaster of a ERC round
This is Wales, not England.
In Wales yes but English round of the championship.
Yes but still English round!
