I just tried directly copying the video’s URL into the YT search bar, which will always come up with the video with that URL as the 1st or 2nd result, and it literally didn’t come up at all, like there wasn’t anything even related to the video in the search results. I think this is a pretty clear case of the algorithm being the algorithm. I am brand new to the channel and they were all over my feed, I chose not to click them because they didnt look like a finished series on a topic or something I was interested in (top 10 fake youtubes: what happened to person I dont know?). it is basically not giving the content to his regular viewers because it isnt matching flags for the algorithm to pick it up, but it is showing it to people who just discovered the channel because the videos are recent and from the algorithms position, more likely to be relevant.
The low view count is because of who the algorithm is targeting the videos at, not any kind of shadow banning. It isnt that I wont watch them at some point it is just as a new viewer to the channel there is other stuff to watch.
Holy shit I thought I was going insane because when just scrolling the home page trying to find a good "dark stuff" video lately, it takes me forever to find anything and I have had to go directly to those creators profile. Like, just trying certain things in the search bar has even been very off. This is unnecessary.

Users don't get informed about shadow bans on any platform. The whole point of a shadow ban is to just let the user keep doing what they're doing until they do something bad enough to warrant a full ban, while still preventing the shadow banned content from getting any interaction.
After all this time with how youtube lies about demonetization and shadow banning, Im suprised nobody has sued them for this? Im no lawyer and dont have a proper idea of litigation on this but I feel just showing evidence to a judge or jury and catching youtube red handed would have some ground wouldn't it?
I might actually know why. It’s because you broke “consistency”. What do I mean by that? Look at the other videos you’ve posted there’s a consistent look and “brand” to how you make your videos. Iamsophie thumbnail and all broke that, so because you have a consistent style, they won’t show the videos that break that. Look at WarpZone’s video talking about their shadow ban. They post skits and when they tried to do something different by making a week of VR videos (completely different than skits) their WHOLE channel got shadow banned for MONTHS.
A lot of channels do that they dont get less views i think it's definitely targeted its like they know that specific video will totally blow up and it's not what they want to blow up.

I tried searching "iamsophie inside a mind", and interestingly there weren't any search suggestions (in the search bar dropdown) after typing in "iamsophie i". For reference, if you type e.g. "pizza time pizza i", it will suggest "pizza time pizza inside a mind" in the dropdown. Similarly, when I type "the bizarre w" there's no autocomplete suggestion for the video title. It's similar to what happens when you try to search a phrase that contains a swear word, the autocomplete just shuts down.

The first video is finally showing up in search now, FYI I think somebody broke something in the search. RUclips constantly tinkers with stuff on the live site that it absolutely shouldn't, and they've done this for goddamn YEARS without ever being called out. The number of times I've watched this site collapse in on itself because some dumb ass coder was experimenting on live is just astounding. I do not understand their design mentality at all (and disagree with 99.999% of it), but more importantly, they seem to share they same QA testers as Bethesda.
So no matter what I do my channel will not grow. I'm uploading basically the same type of videos as all the other RC channels that are growing significantly. And every time I comment on people's videos nobody seems to see my comments. How can I find out if my channel has been Shadow banned. I feel like RUclips is discriminating against me heavily for some mysterious reason. It's starting to burn me out seeing so many successful channels that are actually making a living on RUclips and I can't even make a penny. Getting very frustrated beyond words.

I mean, honestly it's probably just algorithmic bullshit and they don't understand their own algorithms and are too scared to admit it. I doubt it's a conscious decision by anyone, they just don't keep their bots on a tight enough leash, cause the system makes them money (or, it says it's making them money, because screwing over youtubers and decreasing people's trust in the platform doesn't have immediate negative effects it can recognize.) Seems like typical mishandled natural learning program nonsense. It throws things at the wall, and when something seems to work it doesn't question it, and RUclips doesn't either.
This vid showed up in my recommendations on like 4th or 5th spot, but I never watched your channel or vids with similar theme. I guess youtube is sorry for it's mistakes, or I don't now why I'm here.
The craziest part is that they don't even shadow ban the original videos which have zero TW because it's an ARG but they shadow ban a video covering the ARG that also includes multiple TW throughout the entire video.
Thanks for helping me see what a shadow banned video looks like. I will give RUclips a little more time for me to actually get some popularity and I may end up addressing this with them if it seems like all of my traffic is only from subscribers or people from other sites! It shouldn’t need an advanced search in the first place if it says the username and video name.

At this point I think half the channels I watch have been shafted by RUclips in some capacity.
I’m just a new subscriber, and I watched them when I got notified and still in recommendation. I love your stuff bout how you go in depth and make sense! RUclips is being stupid and should fix this and hope this gets fixed. I love your video and your voice(hence kinda why I subbed). I support you and will keep watching!

I think somebody broke something in the search. RUclips constantly tinkers with stuff on the live site that it absolutely shouldn't, and they've done this for goddamn YEARS without ever being called out. The number of times I've watched this site collapse in on itself because some dumb ass coder was experimenting on live is just astounding. I do not understand their design mentality at all (and disagree with 99.999% of it), but more importantly, they seem to share they same QA testers as Bethesda.
I think lately youtubers have had problems with RUclips (false suspensions, shadow bans and such)

So no matter what I do my channel will not grow. I'm uploading basically the same type of videos as all the other RC channels that are growing significantly. And every time I comment on people's videos nobody seems to see my comments. How can I find out if my channel has been Shadow banned. I feel like RUclips is discriminating against me heavily for some mysterious reason. It's starting to burn me out seeing so many successful channels that are actually making a living on RUclips and I can't even make a penny. Getting very frustrated beyond words.
Maybe YT “fixed” so I, but when I go to your channel, I can see both Sophie videos (1&2) listed.
That explains why I didn't know about these two episodes until I got the "Hiding in My Home" video in my recommendations, and I went to check your channel.

I actually remember getting those recommended not that long ago.
I mean, honestly it's probably just algorithmic bullshit and they don't understand their own algorithms and are too scared to admit it. I doubt it's a conscious decision by anyone, they just don't keep their bots on a tight enough leash, cause the system makes them money (or, it says it's making them money, because screwing over youtubers and decreasing people's trust in the platform doesn't have immediate negative effects it can recognize.) Seems like typical mishandled natural learning program nonsense. It throws things at the wall, and when something seems to work it doesn't question it, and RUclips doesn't either.
This vid showed up in my recommendations on like 4th or 5th spot, but I never watched your channel or vids with similar theme. I guess youtube is sorry for it's mistakes, or I don't now why I'm here.
The craziest part is that they don't even shadow ban the original videos which have zero TW because it's an ARG but they shadow ban a video covering the ARG that also includes multiple TW throughout the entire video.
Thanks for helping me see what a shadow banned video looks like. I will give RUclips a little more time for me to actually get some popularity and I may end up addressing this with them if it seems like all of my traffic is only from subscribers or people from other sites! It shouldn’t need an advanced search in the first place if it says the username and video name.
I've noticed recently that the algorithm seems to everwhelmingly favour talking heads on videos over narrators. Maybe it's just me but it just seems increasingly so lately...
Just today I found a channel with similar thematic to yours in my recommendations and remembered about you and your channel. Since I haven't heard from you for a while I decided to check if there were any new videos or so. I was very surprised to see that you have been uploading quite regularly, because I have not seen a single recommendation of yours in my feed. I blamed the algorithm on this and clicked the bell button. A few hours later this video cames up. That was a good decision to click this freaking bell

I’m a subscriber to your channel, I was really surprised when I was recommended the second I am Sophie video because I watched a few minutes of it, was really confused, and then looked at your uploads to realize there was a video before it that I was never recommended and never even saw on my subscriptions page
My channel contains non-controversial content but this is the situation I am in too. Makes me wonder if I have been targeted because I may have watched or commented on political videos elsewhere..
