    Great video! I'm currently a PM working on a project acquiring simulators for VIA Rail Canada. Simulators are great not only for training and practice but also to incite future generations to join the railroad industry.

      I totally agree when you have a good simulater and it is used correctly,they sure do put you in the position of being out on your own ,and having to sort problem out on your own and having to think under pressure 😷

    Excited as a railway enthusiast.
    Do you know the series 0?
    The series 0 was the world's first high-speed rail vehicle, and initially had a maximum operating speed of over 120 mph.
    Later, the maximum speed was raised to approximately 140 mph, and it continued to run for 44 years from 1964.
    One of these cars, 22-141, is stored in the National Railway Museum.

    Pushing the brake forward to brake, that’s counter intuitive. Everything I drive is the other way round. You pull towards you to brake. (Im currently licensed for class66 EU-spec, Bombardier 186 Traxx, Siemens Vectron, MAK type 77 and various steam locomotives.

    • @trotskis00layouts

      Hi Chris, i couldn’t imagine pulling the brake to stop,I drive class 91 and class 43 class 67 and now the LNER AZUMA 800/801 . They all have push forward brakes on them.must be a British thing😷

    • @chrishoggett1375
      @chrishoggett1375 3 года назад

      @@trotskis00layouts hmmm, indeed, it must be typically British. I took a mate from GBRF along once on a trip to Germany. . He too found it strange to pull the brake towards you.
      I do like those LNER Azuma trains, I’ve not ridden on one, but I saw one come into Lincoln central on the Diesel engines. I was impressed by how quiet it was.

    • @trotskis00layouts
      @trotskis00layouts  3 года назад

      You wouldn't be impressed with them on acceleration in diesel mode, they are ok up to 30 mph then.just rubbish,totally different story in electric mode,they are great to drive. Would be nice to be able to take people in the cabs for a ride.

    • @chrishoggett1375
      @chrishoggett1375 3 года назад

      @@trotskis00layouts we’re not supposed to take people along either, but other railwaymen my instructors are fine with as long as I inform them. Only Belgium and German boarder though. Runs going via the Netherlands it isn’t possible, Dutch law is very strict on who is in the cab.
