From Lowes hardware I purchased a Milwaukee dolly with four heavy duty casters. These are furniture dollys that sit low to the ground. I removed the wheels from my grill and placed the grill right on the furniture dolly. So far it's working fine I didn't even secure the grill on the dolly it just sits on top. To put the grill on the dolly I did remove the propane tank to reduce weight and then re-install after the grill was on the dolly. The dolly is only $35 and is available on the website or in store.
I found the same rubber casters as shown in the video at my local Ace Hardware so I tried doing this. The problem is that the plate holes don't exactly match up. There was no way to get all 4 screws in, at best I was able to force 3 screws in. I have a Weber Spirit E210 grill. So, unless you have a way to expand the size of the holes with a drill that can drill through metal then I don't recommend this. I ended up returning these casters and purchased replacement casters from eBay. Found a perfect set of replacement plastic casters on eBay for half the cost of what Weber charges. Also note that rough concrete will leave little divots in the rubber casters.
PB blaster - It really works to dissolve the rust. I would then try a torch if that does not do it. I am about to use some on mine as it is rusted to the bracket that also came off. The brackets are cheaply spot welded on and mine will probably have to be welded back on. I like grills that have large wheels on an axle that can move over grass.
Anyone know the correct name for that drill bit? Whenever I type in “Roundover bit or Roundover drill bit” I just get a router Roundover bit. If it is the correct name, does anyone have a link to purchase? I can’t find one. Thanks
@@TomHorsmanAmateurBBQ thanks again for your video…i have the spirit 310 but same wheels as 210 i believe..i found a perfect match at harbor freight today ..the mounting plate is 2-3/8” on all sides and that was the tough part to match up from the get go; it’s on a 3” swivel wheel and you can buy locking or regular..wheels are polyurethane - think in-line skate wheels..200lb capacity each wheel even though overkill it’s better than the inferior plastic stuff that came installed on the grill..no need to bore out the holes as the screws fit perfectly..i bought 2 of each with tax was $20..you’re welcome 😎
Man after my own heart .. I always upgrade the wheels on my cookers..Job well done Mr.Tom

Hey Larry. Do you know what size that dolly is? Great idea.
I have the same Weber Grill and I agree the wheels suck, it’s a $400.00 grill with Dollar Tree wheels. Whoever designed it this way should be fired.
Thanks for Watching! Appreciate the feedback!

Thanks for Watching! Got them from HD about 2 years ago, you can take one of the old ones with you and try and match it up
I really appreciate this video because I like my Weber but really dislike the casters.

Thanks for Watching! Try some wd40
Tom, I have tried to do the same thing but the screws that attach the caster plate are rusted and will not budge. Any suggestions?
Thanks for watching! You can try some wd 40 and let it soak for a while. other than that, i dont have any other ideas. Good Luck!

Hey Tom. My issue is that the entire wheel mount fell off. I don’t see how I can make a repair here. Any ideas?
Thanks for Watching Keith! Apologize, don’t have the answer
Where did you find the square top plate casters? My Home Depot and Lowes carry only rectagular ones.
Michele Sanford Thanks for Watching Michele! Got them at Home Depot, this was about 6 months, maybe they don't carry them anymore.

Any idea on the part number of the Harbor Freight wheel or the center to center dimensions for the holes.
Looking for a plate needing no modifications
Actually referred to as mounting pattern I believe
