Truth! We got a treat in the women's tournament! All the narratives kept us watching! What a year this will go down as.

Down in the paint Boston played 25 minutes & made 2 field goals and 4 free throws for a total of 8 points.
Czinano played 27 minutes & made 6 field goals and 6 free throws for 18 points.

Boston came up small. With an almost 2-1 rebounding advantage, SC shot embarrassingly poorly. They also only had to limit one player Kaitlin and couldn’t do it. She went off with 41 points as she did with every other team. That one’s on the coach for poor preparation for the game’s best player and scorer.

Why Clark is way better than Boston
    1) Boston is playing on a team of All Stars, Clark doesn't have near that level of supporting talent
    2) Clark scores 14.1 more points per game than Boston (27.3 vs 13.2)
    3) Clark is only 3.5 rebounds per game behind Boston, and she is a guard! (7.3 vs 10.8 - and rebounds don't necessarily equate to points on the board)
    4) Clark has 7 assists per game more than Boston (8.6 vs 1.6 - that yields to 14 more points per game)
    5) Clark has 0.6 more steals per game (1.6 vs 1 - these take points off for the other team)
    6) Clark loses to Boston in blocks by 1.8 per game (0.6 - 2.4 - but this stat doesn't say who comes up with the ball so points off it are hard to determine)
    7) FG% Yes Clark is 9% points behind Boston but she takes real shots vs layups and put backs (47.4 - 56.8)
    8) 3 PT % Clark kills Boston as a shooter 28% points (39.2 - 11.1) Take Boston out of the lane and she's lost
    9) FT% Clark beats her by 8% points (83.6 -75.7) and Clark takes 3 more FT per game than Boston
Bottom line Boston is 6'5" one dimensional player that can only perform under or around the basket and is basically just comparable to a lot of other forwards and centers in the league
If you look at Clark she is either scoring or directly passing to someone scoring and is accountable for 75% of her teams scoring
Now imagine if you switched their roles, put Clark on SC and Boston on Iowa what would the results be. This is the same Bull.... that people used to say Bill Russel was better than Wilt Chamberlin
Bottom line is if I'm building a team I'll start with someone who can bring the ball up, break a press, score from anywhere on the court or dish it off to someone in scoring position. Not someone waiting under the basket for an open shot
The only reason Clark didn't win best player last year was she played for Iowa

I agree that there’s not much of an argument on the numbers. But I do wonder what Boston would look like on a team where she had to be dominant offensively just for her team to be competitive.

@@coachrobrecruiting Yep could she do it without the supporting cast

@davidd5712 your last point was spot on. I also feel CC’s numbers were better than Paige as a freshman but again UCONN vs Iowa

“Aaliyah Boston is the best player on the best team, and that’s not up for debate”……………We’ll that statement didn’t age well. 😃😃
