    Thank you for creating this great ressource of knowledge. Coming from Blender and poly-modelling I mostly used plasticity for tricky booleans and fillets on curved solids and I wasn't able to grasp what surface modelling tools like these are really capable of.
    What I learned while following your tutorial:
    - the basic workflow steps curve -> sheet -> solid
    - how to approach organic hard surface shapes
    - how to properly use lofting
    - the use of G0 and G1
    - creating guiding curves for lofting
    - how to approach problems when working with this kind of modelling technique ( this one was extremely important and lead to better undertanding for plasticity)
    Thank you for providing that knowledge for free.

      Oh yes, surface modeling is really really powerful to create complex forms & shapes without the need to think about topology.
      Keep an eye on my channel and the next videos, I will share more tutorials on surface modeling.
      And thanks for sharing your learnings as bullet points. Especially the basic workflow curve -> sheet -> solid is exactly the fundamental thing in surface modeling.
      Enjoy your day

      @@nikita.kapustin Yeah, I will follow a few more of your videos and I'm planning to buy your helmet course next month. I think the additional fundamental knowledge you have there will be useful in future. For now I think I can gather enough infos through the free videos and I appreciate you creating them. Did the headphones yesterday and the more I understand the tool the more fun it is to create something.

    you can select a continous edge and make a pipe on it, which subtracts from the original surface and then you hace a gap which can be lofted again with tangency. hope it helps

    Nikita, at 14:55 I hear you say: "I didn't do that". But what do you expect when you first put all the points at the right place in the top view and then go move them around freely in the side view? Of course the points are no longer at their spot where they are supposed to be. You can't move them freely anymore. They only can go in the Z-direction because otherwise you change your top view too. I saw it coming from miles away when I saw you edit the positions in the side view. Use a few more control points and never ever change the x or y position after you have set them in the top view.

    I see either lack of knowledge about nurbs construction techniques or lack of tools inside program. But already crazy spam-like marketing from every hole. Should I still consider buying gumroad courses taking this quality into account?

    • @nikita.kapustin
      @nikita.kapustin  9 месяцев назад

      I think a lot of people talk about very positively about Plasticity because it's genuinely an amazing, innovative program in the 3D space.
      I am not sure about your second question but in my Gumroad courses we go much deeper, as we have more time to create complex models with interesting modeling techniques & workflows.
      So in short, my Gumroad courses have even higher quality than those tutorials on my RUclips channel.
      Thanks for considering!

    thanks for the tutorial...the easyest way ( at least for me) to chanfer or fillet the edges was to delete the internal faces and add thickness again.

  • @overseastom
    @overseastom 8 месяцев назад

    Not sure if it'll definitely work, but in the recently released v1.3, the fillet dialogue box has a "chordal" option, which attempts to keep the same thickness around the edge of the entire fillet. It'll probably help with the top indented areas where the fingers would rest, and the chamfer at the base of the mouse.

    • @nikita.kapustin
      @nikita.kapustin  8 месяцев назад +1

      Sometimes chordal works well, most of the time on complex surfaces one has to do fillets manually for best results.

    • @overseastom
      @overseastom 8 месяцев назад

      @@nikita.kapustin I do like your technique of deriving a curve for the "path" you want to chamfer/fillet, then using the pipe tool on it to get the size of the chamfer you want to make, then bool-cutting that area out of the original geometry, and manually rebridging the opposing edges.

    Thank you very much for the tutorials. If you don't mind me asking, what is the purpose of extruding a curve and creating a sheet at 17:30, I have seen you do it many times in your tutorials.

    • @nikita.kapustin
      @nikita.kapustin  9 месяцев назад

      To see the results try both variants next to each other on your own and mirror both sheets over.
      You need tangency in the middle, and at the moment it's only possible with extruding an curve and use it's edge for tangency information.
      Otherwise you can't select tangency on a curve itself
