I spend a couple of years being a pastor on german countryside. The local organist used to play that tune on nearly every funeral - when the coffin was carried out of the hall to the grave. Always repeating it until all people were out. So i never heard it ending... He played so touching that it still is in my heart as a hymne of eternal life..
“Nausicaa of the valley of the wind” was definitely inspired by this, omg this is the first time I heard sarabande and I thought that it is from nausicaa, Hayao Miyazaki’s film
I started learning piano when I was 9. Since we used to live in a small town, there weren’t many piano teachers that could teach me how to play.In 2016, when i was 12, i learned this song with my favorite piano teacher. Her name was Aslı and she always pushed me to do better. She believed that i could improve. Then we moved in 2019 and my dad found another teacher. She made me hate playing the piano. She always gave me the easiest exercices. Then i completely abandoned playing for about a year. As of yesterday, at the age of 16, I started playing again. This time not just watching youtube videos of popular songs and giving up the minute i found it hard. I know i needed to give it time. My fingers were dusty. Then I took out the book I used to practice from with teacher Aslı. I found this song . It was dated “ 30/04/2016 two hands” And than I started playing as if 5 years hadn’t passed by and that i had just learnt it. Thank you for playing this piece that is this important to me so beautifully.
Guz. I too had a problem with my piano teacher. I did not hate her, but I was confrontational with her. She would keep berating on my bad habits. I stopped doing it in 2019 but got back in September of 2021. I played for Catholic Masses and brought back some of my skills with both hands. I hope to get back to prime by the end of next year.
I believe he didn't used pedal in order to make it sound how it was played in the baroque era where pianos with pedal didn't existed. This happens in a huge number of pieces. They usually performed in a place like a cathedral when they wanted to use " pedal". But generally the piece is written especially for an instrument like harpsichord and we as pianists we have to make it sound as authentic as possible 😊
I have no idea how the average Joe would find any “tutorial„ in this video, although I as a piano player for longer than I could think of, I play everything by listening to it first (playing by ear), so I found it sort of helpful. Was not meant to be any hate, I infact loved the performance. You just by the way got a new subscriber. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the support :) It is a tutorial because you get to see the sheet while I play and many people find it helpful as what fingers to use etc :) But yeah it's not a beginner tutorial thing :)

SO MAJESTIC!!!!! Haendel it's one of my favourite composers from the era of Baroque, similarly as Bach, Scarlatti, Vivaldi, Pachelbel and Telemann, therefore thank you for as always an excellent rendition. Do you play Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons"? (of course, the piano transcription), I'm looking forward to the next your performances of Haendel and Vivaldi soon, as every day all the best from Poland, have a happy week.
I'm sorry for the late reply (often I'm very busy, because in Poland I'm a teacher of chemistry), you played Vivaldi's "The Four Seasons" with your friend-violinist. Do you have your recordings of these Vivaldi's masterpieces from your work on the cruise ship? Upload, please, these performances on your channel, again my greetings from Poland.
I don't get this, why note it in 3/2, why not note it in 6/4 or 3/4, is it because of the accentuation? Couldn't that be on the music sheet. I understand the difference between several notations, but using the base 2 always seemed pointless. Can you help me out on this one ? Great interpretation btw, I will study from this for sure. Thank you.

Do you have your recordings of these Vivaldi's masterpieces from your work on the cruise ship? Upload, please, these performances on your channel in the future, again my greetings from Poland.
It's up to the interpreter. Since this is played as a orchestral piece as well.. there you have the sustain effect. You can play it both ways.. always good :)
@@StanislavStanchev sure, there are orchestral arrangements of this piece. Academically however, it’s usually more selective when it comes to using the damper pedal for baroque works.
@@StanislavStanchev I’ve looked through some of my own scores of this piece, interestingly one edition included the marking “con ped”, while the other doesn’t specify at all. It really is then just depends on editorial decisions. I still think with the con ped marking, one should be selective, and not romanticize it too much. (Not criticizing your performance, just a thought)
@@Fanchen Yes for sure. That's why I said it's up to the interpreter. Like Horowitz says there is no right or wrong way to play. You can either choose to play it more "baroque" in an old instrument style or romanticize it a bit.. why not :)
