As a poncy southerner I can confirm that the most genuine people I ever met were from that Liverpool.
North East more so
Have to agree about the people from Liverpool. World famous for being genuine and friendly xxx
Nice to hear that a lot of people call us without even coming to the city cheers
@@garyallen4446 what donyou mean?
I'm from Liverpool and saying people are friendly and genuine?
And funny
As a scouser it's great to see my home city from a tourists point of view, scouse is even better with beetroot I'm glad you enjoyed it
i'm glad Liverpool was your Fave UK city
Great vlog and coming from Glasgow i have to say that Liverpool & Liverpudlian’s in general are the friendliest and most genuine people I’ve ever came across wonderful people with a great sense of humour , amazing city 💚
I'm from Merseyside, and actually love visiting Glasgow! I love to have a pint and a malt in my fave bar The State.
@@lordred4116 hi there great to hear you enjoy our city I’ve been in the state bar loads of times through the years i love a wee whisky as well Glasgow has loads of great wee bars dotted around and there’s always a warm welcome for all our visitors
Glasgow and Liverpool, are so culturally alike, which might be down to the Irish Diaspora of the Victorian era, which itself to the remarkably similar 'fiery' local and civic politics! 👍
I’ve lived up here for 4.5 years and I love it! I’m a Londoner but have no intention of moving back there 😂
Love this city and it’s people 💜💜💜
Same here. We moved from the London suburbs to Merseyside about 3 yrs ago. We're about 40 minutes away by train from Liverpool Central station. Wild horses wouldn't drag me back to living inside the M25.
Wife and I visited Liverpool from June 24-27, 2022. Must return to enjoy what we may have missed.
Hope our City treated you both well! From a Scouser, love your videos keep'em coming.
Thank you!
As a Scouser Am glad you enjoyed our city it is one of the best and some of the nicest people you could meet despite what people say hope you come back one day
People from Liverpool always claim to be the nicest. Dont wish to shoot you down old lad but, people are nice all over the world
@@jimwalsh8520 No doubt about people being nice all over the world but i did not claim we are the nicest i said we are some of the nicest . But sprinkled with some right idiots HA HA .
My younger daughter was born on the Wirral but grew up in Austria but studied at UK Universities. She did her Masters' at University of Liverpool Business School which has an excellent international reputation. She loves the city, the people and goes back regularly to meet up with her university colleagues from all over the world. She even convinced some of her Brazilian friends to follow Everton after she took them to some games at Goodison. That's my girl 😀☺👍
@@robthornton6288 Never mind, no one need know
Everyone agrees that people from Liverpool are friendly. But they freeze over when you tell them that you're from Manchester. And you have to explain for the one millionth time that you don't give a toss about bloody football. It gets tiresome....
I've never been to Liverpool but enjoyed the tour and liverpudlians are the nicest people 👌
come visit us you will be made welcome
Just a wee tip ..
My wife and I have just returned from a short break in Liverpool.
During our time, we bought all zone Saveaway tickets. These are all-day tickets and work on buses, Merseyrail trains and even on the ferry. These cost £6, if purchased directly from the ticket office at Lime Street Station. Buying elsewhere means you need to pay an extra £1 for a plastic MetroCard, although this would be for the first purchase only.
We took the ferry to Seacombe, then a bus to Hamilton Square from where we caught a train back over to Liverpool Central. That trip only took about an hour, so we had the rest of the day to explore elsewhere, using the same Saveaway ticket
Liverpool is my favourite place in the UK and quite possibly my favourite place ever! If you go back, go for 2 or 3 days at least. Great places to visit are:
⭐️ Metropolitan Catholic Cathedral;
⭐️ World Museum;
⭐️ Walker Art Gallery;
⭐️ Museum of Liverpool;
⭐️ Tate Gallery;
⭐️ Hop On/Off Bus Tour;
⭐️ St. John's Beacon Viewing Gallery;
⭐️ Royal Liver Building 360° Tour;
⭐️ Top of the Anglican Cathedral (2 elevators and a lot of steps but worth it if you can);
⭐️ Liverpool 1 Shopping;
⭐️ Albert Dock in the evening.
Glad you loved Liverpool, it’s an amazing city. My in-laws are originally from Woolton, where John and Paul met. My sister in law walked from their house to George Harrison’s parents house in the early 60’s, and were given autographs, but she gave them to her friend for safekeeping as my father in law hated The Beatles. She never saw them again. My husband’s cousin was reputed to be good friends with John and Cynthia in the art college days.
We love the city, we have spent 3 special occasions there in the last few years. We celebrated my 40th, our daughter’s 18th and this year our wedding anniversary. Our daughter requested that she wanted her first alcoholic drink in the Cavern on her 18th, we granted it. The Cavern there now is not the true original, but a very close replica. The original one was demolished before Matthew Street became what it is now. We saw Suzanne Vega at the Philharmonic Hall on our last visit for our wedding anniversary in February.
Some things to look for next time: you can visit both Mendips (John Lennon’s Aunt’s house on Menlove Avenue) and Paul McCartneys homes if you book in advance with the National Trust. Our daughter enjoyed the Slavery museum in the Albert Dock, and the Dock is well worth a walk around with its quirky gift shops. The ferry across the Mersey is excellent too. The museum of Liverpool is very good, and has a lovely cafe.
The Liver building looks amazing at night, lit up beautifully. We stayed at the Travelodge nearby and walked to take photos. All the docks and waterside areas are illuminated at night.
Did you know that the 4 bells in the modern Catholic cathedral are nicknamed John, Paul, George and Ringo? Their proper names are the apostles.
Thanks for visiting my City, I hope you enjoyed your time here.
In reference to the food “scouse” it’s actually Norwegian in origin! Sailors used to eat it and bring it into the Port.
A couple of suggestions to visit next time:
Ferry Across the Mersey
Walker Art Gallery
Williamson Tunnels
I love Liverpool so much 😀
I love how when you posed in front of the Penny Lane street sign you were also literally "there, beneath the blue suburban skies" as the lyrics go. So cool.
Liverpool is an architectural gem.
Awesome city Liverpool, Scouse is delicious.
Your enthusiasm is very infectious, getting hooked on your vlogs. I'm from Northern England - York, but I've never been to Liverpool, shame on me, looks like a really great City! Great vlogs guys.
Ahh man! I would of loved to of given you a day out in our town.
An alternative tour gathering such delights as
*The Sandy beach, which is Liverpools best kept secret.
*The Most Ornate Pub Toilets in the World (The Philharmonic)
*And from the right angle 'Queen Victoria's C**k'
Among a few.
It's always an absolute heart warmer to see people come here and love the place. We appreciate it more than you'll ever know.
Our sunsets are amazing too.
Much love ya. Nice one Kidda. Cheers.
Glad you enjoyed my home city, it's nice to see it through others eyes x
As someone who lives in Liverpool, I LOVE seeing videos like this. I hope you had a wonderful time
Hope you enjoyed our beautiful city la❤️
That scouse looked pretty authentic - but when I was growing up in Liverpool we would have pickled beetroot with it, not cabbage. When you visit again, try a pub called the Philharmonic Dining Rooms (!) in Hope Street.
Oh now I want to try it with pickled beetroot! Thank you for the suggestion! We hope to make it back soon.
and make sure you go the toilet, its worth a pee believe me
Aah we had both but I actually preferred red cabbage. I often make my own for the winter! Also love it with cottage pie 😋
Growing up in Liverpool we always had pickled red cabbage, never beetroot, it came as a shock when I first saw it in a friend's house, red cabbage is much nicer.
@@scouseofhorror104 same, me aunty always had red cabbage with hers, I just had bread coz I'm a fussy sod 😄
Glad you enjoyed Liverpool. Love the city and some of my happiest moments have been spent there. So many more things to do and see there yet
Look forward to welcoming you back to Liverpool; you really need a good few days or longer to appreciate all we have to offer, not only in the city itself, but the surrounding areas... The largest collection of Grade 2* listed buildings outside of London, the RC cathedral down the road (Hope Street) from the Anglican, the museums... And curiosities such as an extremely rare Edward VIII post box and the crypt of an infamous gambler that's above ground to cheat the devil...
And outside the city you have the beautiful countryside of the Wirral and the beaches of both Wirral and Sefton, with Anthony Gormley's "Another Place" at Crosby...
Actually, you need a lifetime to appreciate it - I'm still discovering things in my city and wider area, and I ain't dead yet ;)!
I love Liverpool. I’m originally from The Wirral, just across the Mersey river, and I went back to Liverpool for uni. There are so many fun things to see if you get the chance to go back. The Jacaranda is my favourite pub in Liverpool, and it has some great Beatles history away from the tourist trail - the basement was an early rehearsal space but they were put to work decorating the place - you can still see some great bands down there. It’s a really chilled vibe. Since I lived there, they’ve put booths in the room upstairs where you get your own turntable to play records on, and loads of music to choose from.
I’d also recommend Port Sunlight. It’s an easy train journey. Then Chester. Walking the city walls in Chester is a great experience. The city is beautiful.
Love seeing people explore where I’m from. Hope my city treated you well!
If its clear weather you guys should head up to the top of the cathedral (about £10ish each) it's got great views! The museums are not to be missed either!!
I don.t know if you've heard of Cilla Black. She was the cloakroom attendant at The Cavern until The Beatles pulled her up on stage and the rest, as they say, is history. Not only was she a great singer but also one of the UK's most loved TV presenters.
I'm glad you enjoyed our city!
I think the concept of the Whispering Arch was taken from the design of the very famous Whispering Gallery in St Paul’s Cathedral in London, which was designed by the incredible architect, Sir Christopher Wren. If you haven’t been inside St Paul’s, it’s unbelievable. In my opinion, it’s the cathedral to end all cathedrals - it’s even more beautiful than some of the Catholic ones you find in the Mediterranean countries, and that’s saying something. You can climb all the way up to the top of the dome below the spire, although there are around 500 steps. The trek up is insane. It’s a heck of a climb just to get to the first level on the roof, and then you briefly come outside and you get a fantastic view across London and the City. But THEN, you go inside the dome itself, and begin the second leg of the climb, and it’s like a series of cast iron spiral staircases with platforms in between, like you’d get on a fire escape, and you just keep going up and up and up. Eventually, you get right to the top and come outside to a small viewing area that goes all the way round (it feels very safe though, with high stone walls) and the view across London from there is breathtaking.
Firstly, Thanks for visiting our great city. If you ever make it back here, then a ferry across the Mersey is a must. It's quite inexpensive, and will give you a better view of the city centre. I'm usually driving past most of the locations you visited on a daily basis. It's a shame i didn't see you both. Hope you enjoyed our hospitality 👍
I love living in Liverpool. There are so many things to do, see and try. And there are so many good food places and gorgeous places to go and explore.
I love Liverpool thank you for the tour
We loved it too!
Good vid;lived and studied in Liverpool(1989-95) as former LJMU graduate and still have a number of good friends living there, but a lot of tourist attractions which the city now offered, were not there, when I was,so its weird for me to see how so much has changed[cf.Evan Edinger's vid from last year, etc.]! 😁
P.S. You visited the Anglican Cathedral,as I was the 1st student union rep. for the student accommodation/academic block, literally next door there!👍
Absolutely loved this video! We live near here and love it, it's such a vibrant city with so much to do.
It really is!
So glad you visited Liverpool, my fav city in England. I am from the midlands but now live up north and it has everything you need!
Ohhhh I love this! I had my graduation at Liverpool Cathedral and it’s so special and gorgeous!
Really glad that you enjoyed your time in our city. The next time you're over, get in touch and you can join one of my film location walking tours!🎬✌️
My family is from Liverpool and I was born in Southport but moved to Edinburgh when I was a baby. I have so many memories visiting my grandparents who still lived there and seeing Matthew steet
A proud scouser, my beautiful home ❤️
A favorite travel memory for me (as you can see from my picture)...my husband and I are such huge Beatle fans...it was such a wonderful experience visiting Liverpool and it's fabulous people back in '16. I hope to visit again!
I'm from Liverpool and glad you enjoyed it. Great city great people.
You should check out The Philharmonic pub. The most amazing architecture and decor from deep in Victorian history.
You guys are always welcome here 😋
Giles Gilbert Scott designed some wonderful buildings. He was just 22 years old when he was selected as the architect for Liverpool Cathedral. He also designed Bankside power station, now home of Tate Modern, Battersea power station, to name just a few.
His grand father was the architect George Gilbert Scott, responsible for the Midland Hotel at the front of St Pancras station, the Albert Memorial opposite the Albert Hall.
If you're interested in history you should look up the Friends of Williamson's Tunnels. The Williamson tunnels were dug under Liverpool and are currently in the process of being investigated with new sections being found. No-one really knows the reason that they were made but the history is really interesting.
When I moved to Liverpool in the early 70's, they were still building the Anglican Cathedral. I think they started in the early 1900's. The original Cavern was knocked down after a long campaign to save it, so everything you see is a replica. There are 2 cathedrals in Liverpool. The Catholic cathedral is very modern and fondly known as 'Paddy's Wigwam'.
I think the original Caven had a fire. There is a big gap where it used to be.
St Luke Church is good. It's a church that was bombed in ww2 and its still standing. We call it the bombed out church. They sometimes have parties and eventing in there.
@@kandelfamilylife No it was sold to British Rail in 73 to be a ventilation shaft for the merseyrail loop but couldn't be made to work so it was filled with concrete. They did try to unearth it later but the damage was unsalvagable so they knocked it down and built a slightly bigger recreation slightly to the side of the original.
Bus tours are a great way to learn about a place.
I need to go to Liverpool
If you come back to Liverpool again and you like Tudor history/Tudor houses then you must go to Speke Hall in south Liverpool. Sadly, John Lennon airport is right next door but the house and grounds are amazing (I would go there on a sunny day in summer personally).
Thank you for the suggestion!
Proud to be from Liverpool! we Liverpolitans know we have the best city in the country despite the undeserved bad reputation we get but look at other cities with bad reps - Glasgow, NYC, Naples....greatest cities ever so imagine being a snob from some random boring middle class town! Perish the thought what boring lives they must have
There are 2 cathedral's in Liverpool, you were in the Anglican cathedral designed by a Catholic, and there is nearby the Catholic cathedral designed by a Anglican and known locally as paddy's wigwam because of its shape with a central altar.
I'm from Liverpool and live a mile or so away from Strawberry Fields. It's a shame you didn't get to see more of the sights, but you certainly seem to have done the right thing in doing the Beatles Story, the Magical Mystery Tour bus and Mathew Street. As for places to go next time you're here. I'd recommend going to Birkenhead on the other side of the River Mersey. Birkenhead Park was part of the inspiration for Central Park in New York.
Are you really sending people to birkenhead 😭😂
@@acs6785 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was raised in nearby Hunts Cross (Mackets lane end)
Oh my days, why are you sending people to Birkenhead 🤣🤣🤣
I've got most the Beatles autographs except John's as he died before I was born my mom's faves was John and Paul I brought my dad a Beatles t-shirt and a yellow Submarine toy from a local charity shop a few months ago I've also got autographs of the Beatles drummer and off the guy who did the record cover of sergeant pepper
Great share would love to do the beatles tour in liverpool.i visited abbey road studios a couple of weeks back loved that. 😎👍
The best city and people in the world = Liverpool
Glad you liked Liverpool!👍🏻 Did you go to Flanagan's Apple on Mathew Street? It's a great Liverpool/Irish pub, it's built over the original pool that the city was named after (check out Carl Jungs "pool of life" dream). Years ago the toilets downstairs used to flood at high tide! Also Ye Cracke pub on Rice Street where the Beatles used to drink in the war room during their student days. There's loads to see and do here.😊
My favourite city outside of my hometown of Edinburgh. Liverpool has some of the best attractions in and around it including the shopping district is fantastic.
I think you missed the tiny statue of a bird at the cathedral. Pitside in front of the crypt. It's a Tracey Emin.
Live in Liverpool. Glad you enjoyed this amazing beautiful city xx
We did! Thanks!
Excellent vlog - I haven't been to Liverpool for many years, way before the Beatles museum was there. Very spooky but just an hour ago I watched 'Nowhere Boy' a biopic about the early life of John Lennon, it was released in 2009, and I've only just watched it. It was fascinating.
Thank you! That is random! It's a good film, but it's been a long time since I've watched it. Might have to watch it again. Thanks!
Liverpool has changed so much in the last decade or so. Well worth another visit!
So glad you enjoyed your visit to my home city!
Liverpool; One of the few cities in the world with TWO Cathedrals 😱
And TWO road tunnels, and two great football teams
Fun fact:
The Liverpool city hall that you drove past, is actually where the new Batman was filmed with Robert Pattinson. 👍
Didn't know that. Thanks!
Wasn't it also filmed in Glasgow too.
You mean St. Georges Hall, parts of Liverpool and wirral have appeared in many films in recent years.
Also alot of Peaky Blinders 🙂
Glad you enjoyed my city
Born in Liverpool, never eaten Scouse, never been to the Anglican cathedral. Been to Paddy’s Wigwam - the RC cathedral. Liverpool became a tourist attraction when I left! Never seen the sites you’ve seen on your tour, although the bus passed by Penny Lane to and fro on the way to Saturday lessons. My sister had a new leather coat stolen at the Cavern Club once and so I was never allowed to go! They do a foody market in Liverpool - the Baltic Market. Never been to that either but I’m told it’s good.
The last time I visited Liverpool was donkey's years ago; sadly, I only remember the Royal Albert Docks and being awestruck at the 'Three Graces'. Liverpool is, however, one of the greatest cities in the world and I'm pleased that it didn't disappoint.
I can't wait to see your vlog on my County Town of York... 👍💖
You have to try the other cathedral as well literally at the other end of the road of the one shown. The Museum of Liverpool on the waterfront is excellent for local history and culture, and to get the best views of the UNESCO listed skyline, take a trip on a "Ferry 'Cross the Mersey" to see it in it's full glory. For a quirky place to visit, go to the Edge Hill Tunnels to see the result of one man's obsession with employing hundreds of unemployed soldiers from the Napoleonic wars to simply dig tunnels and caverns under the city . Also, if you like your football, the Anfield tour is well worth it.
Yep, lived in Liverpool for over 20 years (and gem all her life) and I've yet to visit the Beatles museum or do the bus tour. 🤣 I graduated in the Liverpool cathedral, massive, couldn't hear a thing of the ceremony because of the reverb! Gem makes a pretty mean scouse, family recipe. Glad you enjoyed your trip to Liverpool. It's a great city.
Next time you come to Liverpool, I would recommend: a ferry tour on the river Mersey, a drive up to Formby Beach and its adjourning pine forest, explore the Museum Quarter in the city centre (area around St George’s Hall), and definitely sample some of our best restaurants (for breakfast specifically, I would recommend “The Tavern” which was voted the best breakfast in the country). I could go on and on. The options are limitless and the culture is so rich and vibrant.
Just subbed... I'm actually from Liverpool (Scouser) & by chance came up on my recommendations... Watched the vid & really enjoyed it... About the Scouse, apparently, my Dad told me that it was originally a Danish/Scandinavian, dish/stew named Scorse & was introduced by the Danish sailors....
Glad you guys are having a great holiday and a great time in Liverpool with your UK friends comes in handy too
Glad you had a great time. Come back again anytime! ❤
2 must see’s in York, Jorvik Viking Centre and the Castle Museum.
When I was in Liverpool three Augusts ago The Beatles Story had the white piano John played in the Imagine video. Also the Musium had a John and Yoko free exabition which was very good. I also stayed at The Beatles hotel in Mathew Street called A hard days night which was great. Love The Beatles. My granny was from Liverpool but moved to Aberdeen Scotland and because I'm from Aberdeen too have visited Liverpool since I was little. Glad you got to see this great city.
You should visit Speke Hall when next in Liverpool, it is close to John Lennon Airport.
Fun fact, whenever you see a film set in New York in, say the early 20th century, they have probably filmed it in Liverpool-the architecture is very New York esq, not surprisingly considering the architects who made New York what it is, often started their training in Liverpool.
Also Liverpool City Council offers the production companies big tax breaks...
The Batman
Indiana Jones & The Last Crusade, Sherlock Holmes, Captain America, Fantastic Beasts
Haha I'm a taxi driver in Liverpool, i picked up a producer from FOX who was making the film Tolkien here and he told me, they prefer filming here because it's more old New York than New York itself and they don't have to get waivers from any of the private apartments that may end up in the movies. I said we would love it if we where watching a movie and our house or flat was in it, bragging rights all day long. He laughed and said also the local council bend over backwards to help the film/TV industry here and it shows in how many are fiilmed here.
A fun fact that the Liverpool Anglican cathedral was built using sandstone from Woolton Quarry which was up the hill from John Lennons house. Although the name The Quarry men came from Quarry bank high school, I always thought it was from the Quarry near where he lived.
Ĺiverpool has two cathederals, theres also a unique styled catholic cathedral in the city
One of my favorite places on the planet. I am so glad you both are enjoying your trip .
We loved it too. Thank you!
Liverpool Cathedral is the largest protestant Cathedral in the world and the fifth largest cathedral in the world. The noisy organ is the largest church organ in the world.
Incidentally, when I was a student at Liverpool University I lived 50 yards from Penny Lane.
I grew up here. Went to school in Woolton and went to the church youth club that the Beatles first played. I live in Australia now

Thanks for the tips! Hopefully next time. 😀

Scouse has a similar dish in neighbouring towns. In nearby Leigh, its called "Lobby" and locals are referred to as "Lobby Gobblers". Its essentially a slow cooked stew made with potatoes and corned beef. People often add carrots and serve it with buttered bread and pickled beetroot
Leigh and Liverpool should between them name a day celebrating scouse. And maybe even have competitions cooking the meal.
I’m glad you loved Liverpool! My family are from there but we all now live in Manchester. I hope you enjoyed my city ❤️
For our son’s 21st birthday, we had organised a “private” Beatles Tour with one of Liverpool’s “genuine” Beatles Tour Guides representatives (not saying that the other tour guides are NOT genuine! 😲) we were taken to all the Beatles “sites” in a posh limo! And we did literally see all there was to see and recognise about the Beatles. The Tour Guide knows “everything” about them and has in the past met both Paul, Ringo and George. Whilst we could not enter John’s house (now the property of the National Trust and “loaned out” by Yoko 🙂 or Paul’s house, (our Tour Guide is always unable to book private tour visits for them) we did actually go in the little terraced house where Ringo used to live with his next door neighbour! The (now elderly) lady who looked after him, her living room was a homage to him - sadly she passed away about five years ago. If you return to L’pool, you must take a Ferry Across the Mersey (cue the song!) and also visit Anfield (Liverpool FC - the Reds);and Goodison Park (Everton - the Blues) and a walk around Liverpool Docks is also interesting 😊
Oh wow that sounds amazing! We'll have to check out the ferry and Anfield next time. Thanks!
What on Earth makes a Beatles tour genuine 😂
@@raechellynch6659 Maybe Ringo or McCartney drove the limo lol 🤣
You should go up the tower of the Anglican Cathedral, it's quite the experience.
Thank you for the suggestion!
Greatest city in England, although I am Biased as its my home city
We certainly enjoyed it! 😀
I live just over the Mersey on The Wirral, it's a Peninsula surrounded by great beaches, massive houses, islands, forts, windmills and the joy of crossing the Mersey on the ferry. We also have wonderful Pirt Sunlight, Lord Leverhulmes model village forLeverBrothers and Sunlight Soap that you can still buy, along withthe stunning Lady Leverhulme art gallery, as good as anything I have found in places like Harvard. We are also very close to beautiful North Wales and Snowdon. Enjoy, glad you saw some of our lovely Liverpool but boy, there is so much more, Western Approaches war rooms, Albert Dock, it's wonderful and so is the surrounding countryside, places like theBoatMuseum, Andertons barge lift, Chester, (stunning) and Chester Zoo, you could spend 2 weeks here and not see it all.
Sounds lovely. We will certainly be back in that area at some point, so I hope we can check out some of the places you mentioned.
Liverpool is a great city for tourists to visit. Several of the big museums are free to
So glad you loved my City. Come back soon, there is plenty more to see and do. ☺
A whispering gallery is usually a circular, hemispherical, elliptical or ellipsoidal enclosure, often beneath a dome or a vault, in which whispers can be heard clearly in other parts of the gallery. Such galleries can also be set up using two parabolic dishes. Sometimes the phenomenon is detected in caves.
St Paul's Cathedral in London is the place where whispering-gallery waves were first discovered by Lord Rayleigh c. 1878.[6]
The library of Dollar Academy in Scotland.
The entrance gallery of the Aston Webb Great Hall at the University of Birmingham.
Hamilton Mausoleum in Hamilton, South Lanarkshire, Scotland.
The Berkeley, Wetherspoons pub in Bristol.
Gloucester Cathedral has whispering gallery.[7]
Don’t forget to visit the other cathedral next time you’re in Liverpool!
Yes....its called
Anfield !
As I am originally from Merseyside, it is never cool to tell the tourists that The Cavern is not the original one.. Shhhh.
I hope you went on the ferry across the mersey to the wonderful Wirral.
My city, I live in Cheshire now but Liverpool seafront still blows my mind everytime I visit
Scouse with red cabbage..yum🇬🇧😁👍
I have just now learned that the term Scouse comes from a stew! I had no idea! Despite the fact that my father in law grew up a short walk from Penny Lane and I've been to Liverpool several times. 😆
“Scousers” was a slur aimed at people from Liverpool as majority of people could only afford a cheap, left over meat stew called “Scouse” (short for lobscouse/lobskause)
The people of Liverpool used to be called Dickie Sams many years ago, I think Scouser only became popular in the 1950s
@@joshg2603 Scouse came from the Norwegian sailors,it was actually Lob Scouse, made with fish, Liverpool made it their own ,nothing to do with being a slur.I
