Don't forget about that one girl that had 3 technicians look at her fridge in her van and tell her it works fine but she was convinced it was broken and chose to get rid if it and switch to a cooler
I think she admitted at the end she just didn't wanna deep clean the first fridge and was so convinced it was messed up because it "had a smell" then wasted all that money getting ppl to check it and tell her the fridge was ok . To get rid of it , get a cooler . Then get rid of the cooler and got a new fridge that I thought she said was too expensive for them rn 😳
Yes! It seems so cool when it’s just a single person or a couple. Not when kids get involved. It’s not only the space concern. Kids need a stable environment of staying in one place in order to develop properly.
@@Maria-jq3zv yeah! As a kid who moved a lot, I can’t even IMAGINE living in a van?? That sounds terrible. And also most of these kids barely get a homeschooling experience, since the parents are too busy “showing their children the world” even though it’s just… Nebraska.
@@GayTidePods69420 I moved around a lot too! It was always kind of within the area, but it would be a completely different school district and school. It was always so hard making friends when going to a completely new school, and I would stay in one school for a year or two. I can’t imagine what their social life is like when they only stay in one place for a week or two at most. The homeschooling is an issue too! Most of these parents don’t put enough time and effort into their kids’ education in order to properly homeschool. Homeschooling can work, but the parents have to be well educated themselves and actually devote a lot of time and energy into homeschooling, and most of these van life families don’t do that. I remember once my abusive dad said that if my mom didn’t have rights to me that he’d pull me out of school and we’d spend our time driving around the country in a van and he’d homeschool me. At the time, I thought it was such a great idea. Now, I realize that he would be trying to isolate me from everyone and by me not going to school, I wouldn’t have an outlet to report anything he was doing to me. It does form a lot of the lens that I look at van life families through.
Also, have you ever noticed how childfree van life channels show the downsides/difficult parts too while family van life channels are always saying how amazing their life is and how much their kids love it? Maybe I'm wrong but when someone tells me that something is 100% perfect I don't belive them

I’ve been financially planning to have about a year of “van life” and while I’m drawn to it, I couldn’t imagine spending the whole time sharing it with ONE other person, let alone living there for consecutive years as a family. Even the big fancy vans DESIGNED for van life seem cramped once you put more than 2 adults in there.
@@Fengi_ I did a 20-hour road trip with three friends for an event in another state and we didn’t speak to each other for a week after we got back. I was fighting off the urge to physically attack them in the last few hours on our way home.
As someone with seven siblings, who's had to live in VERY cramped quarters, including an RV for a bit, sometimes people have no other choice. That, or it's a temporary choice. But some people want this to be their LIFE and you're nailing it. XD
Van life (by choice) is great if it’s 1-2 people (maybe a pet) (and if you’re actually using the van to travel) but those vloggers have multiple kids and make them sleep in shelves and storage pits
I love this series so fucking much! The worst part is that despite being a parody/satire, it's still sometimes less extreme as,/only on the same level as/barely more extreme than the parodied example 😢 Like I've seen the inspiration/example/etc thinking it was another parody/satire etc, only to realize it was the actual source/inspiration etc It shows how bad reality is getting that satire and parody is indistinguishable from the subject it's mocking
The only van life stuff I enjoy is like, a single person just puttin' their way across the U.S. or sometimes a couple, and that's it. This stuff...is crazy
Love that you’re combating the normalization of probably causing your children chronic back pain for the rest lives because vanlife , one short at a time! Vanlifers with kids are especially hateable 🙄
ngl - I have a motorhome (that I do not live in) and I was honestly shocked at how cool it can stay in the blazing sunshine with just windows and vents open. Mind you, the actual manufacturers seem to make sure most of the van is white that I assume reflects a lot of the energy. I dread to think what it's like in custom vans that have been painted black with minimal windows/vents added for the "stealth" approach.
me and my family drove all the way up to disney world dureing summer brake in a van with an ac that barely worked now it was a normal van with seats my parents where never into the van life thing but also that same van broke down on the way home we made it home perfectly fine after getting the van fixed but like i feel for these poor children vand arnt made to last they brake and once they do its hecka expensive to fix them
As someone who spent a summer in a van with no AC….hell. It’s living hell 😂. You won’t feel cool for months. Get used to being sweaty 24/7 and waking up to drenched sheets
Not a va life kid but I was 13 before I had an actual honest to god mattress (we had enough money, my legal guardian just didn’t want to spend it on her kids) before that I slept on the floor, or in a chair. I remember feeling ecstatic to be given a cot (with out a pad, it was literally just the frame) so that I could lay flat AND not get dirty while I slept. Sufficed to say, I have chronic back pain now and I’m not even 20. If you have the money to, please consider the long term ramifications of the lifestyle you’re putting your kids through
Usually people follow the weather…also these sketches don’t parody anything since most people that travel in a van aren’t families on weird TikTok influencers. Most are people that can’t afford rent/housing or want to travel
Idk if this comment will be seen but I’ve been living in a camper trailer since 2018 with my parents. I’ve spent all of my teens years in this stupid thing so far. We didn’t have a choice in this situation was our actual house became inhabitable after a fire and are struggling to get back on our feet still. And yeah, every summer is hell. The camper comes with an AC but it doesn’t do shit. We have multiple fans and got a window unit to put in one of the fire escape windows which has been helping. Point is, we all fucking hate living like this and I can’t fathom parents willingly making their child live in a van just for content when they surely have enough money to afford a proper house. If it were just adults that consented to this and had a choice I think it’d be fine but this is horrendous.
The only reason I can tell this is a parody right away is because you don’t actually shove cameras in children’s faces for content when they don’t want it and I think it’s INSANE that that is the difference. Some one help those poor van life kids :(
I would have nowhere to put my playstations, xboxes, gamcubes, handheld consoles & closets of games and accessories. As a person with adhd, i would have van life, my brain needs constant stimulation.
