    To anyone that is short and small don’t worry about the height. I’m 5’4” and weight 140 and have no problem getting one foot down flat. Lowering the preload on the rear shock is more than enough if it bothers you.

    Great vid! I own a 2020 DRZ400SM. I’ve had it for a little over a year. It’s a blast to ride. In regards to the seat, check out the Seat Concepts Low Profile seat. It’s amazing. It’s very comfortable and it gives you a seat height 1 inch lower than with the stock seat. It’s a little pricey, but well worth it IMO. They also have other comfort seats that are the same seat height as the stock seat. I’ve done a bunch of other mods to my bike, but that was one of the earlier ones.

    Congrats on the new bike. I was considering the KLX and actually planned to buy it, but the T-dub community was so fun, I went with the TW-200.

      The TW200 is a great bike you won’t regret it! For off-road riding it’s hard to beat 🌲

    Congratulations on the bike, you made a great choice! I’ve ridden the dual sport version, but I also really dig the SM version. Experienced rider, thinking of getting a DRZ as my next bike. Looking forward to watching your experiences with it.

    I went with the DRZ also over the 300s. For me it came down to power. Power was more important than EFI or 6 gears. The DRZ with 5 gears has a higher top speed and much more pulling power at freeway speeds than the 300s. I hate riding underpowered bikes so the DRZ 400 was the choice for me.

      Definitely nice having the extra power, the DRZ is a great bike

    Great video! They really do make a ton for the DRZ so I’m looking forward to see what you do with it. I 100% agree with the tail light and front reflectors. Those are ugly.

      Thank you so much! I am really happy to see that my subscribers are being supportive of this new bike. I absolutely love the TW200, but just like many other motorcyclists I love all bikes. Definitely more to come, let me know if you have any suggestions!

    Bought a TW200 and shortly after these came out. Really thinking about getting one to add to it.

      @MostroMoto  3 года назад +1

      As you can tell on my channel I also have the TW200, I really love that bike and it has so much character. But it’s also great to have another bike in the stable, this one being a little more road oriented. But with slightly more aggressive tires you can certainly take this bike on some fire roads & off-roading! You should do it hahah 🤙🏼

    I had a 2005 Yamaha wr450 with about the same seat height. Great bike, lots of power, but I installed a lowering link to reduce the height about an inch and a half. I'm 6 feet but it still helped alot if you are off roading straddling a dip and need to dab a foot down.

    • @MostroMoto
      @MostroMoto  3 года назад

      Hey thanks for the comment! I looked into lowering links too, but since the bike isn’t to tall I figured I might get a seat concepts 1” lower seat. That should give me just enough to get a better footing & I won’t compromise any ground clearance. But like you said off-roading is certainly different because of the uneven roads, so maybe the lowering link will help! Thanks for watching 😃

    this bike is perfect. its light weight, plenty of mods. it can be whatever u want with some gear changes and what not. i get it, buy a bike suited for what u need but if u like working on mechanical old school bikes that have plenty of parts, DRZ400 is the way to go

  • @hockeymann88

    Really liking the bike.
    It may seem like a weird idea but I always thought it would be cool to get the DRZ SM and put some knobbies on it for on and off road capability. Like the tdubs on steroids.

    • @MostroMoto
      @MostroMoto  3 года назад +2

      Honestly I want to do that too haha, be able to go on & off road with just a bit extra power. I’m going to be getting shinko 705s for the bike soon. Better for off-road, but still plenty of on road capabilities. Because I mainly ride on road

    How do you compare this to the Honda 650 you have... would the drz be a better beginner?

    • @MostroMoto
      @MostroMoto  2 года назад

      I would probably say the DRZ is better for beginners. The power is not too different, a bit more torque on the XR. But what really separates these bikes is the seating position. The Xr feels much taller and can be a bit hard to get your feet on the ground. But overall I like the XR better!

    best way to break in a new bike is rail it. the rings need to seat and the best way to do it is operate it as normal.

    Is that a brake cable / line up above the dash? Will it always be there? I would find it irritating / distracting.

    • @MostroMoto
      @MostroMoto  3 года назад

      Yes it is the hydraulic brake line for the front brake. It hasn’t bothered me yet, it’s something I don’t really notice while on the bike. I think you can get it re routed if you really don’t like it, but I think the camera makes it worse then it actually is. Thanks for watching!

    • @hazcat640
      @hazcat640 3 года назад +1

      @@MostroMoto Yeah, it may be the fish eye lens making it look like it is about 5 inches or so above the dash. Just sorta hanging in space. :)

    • @MostroMoto
      @MostroMoto  3 года назад

      Haha yeah, it definitely hangs over but it’s not something to noticeable when riding

    • @ericweber1969

      That’s really common on dirt bikes and Supermotos, due to the large amount of suspension travel, they need a LOT more slack in the line than a typical street only bike.

      I was able to pay a bit less for my bike because of a friend at the dealership. So just about 7k for everything. Definitely worth the money, so far it’s been one of my favorite bikes to ride 😃

    You keep mentioning your height, and then you get a Honda 650? WTH!!!

    • @MostroMoto
      @MostroMoto  2 года назад +2

      Haha height isn’t everything! It’s really not that hard riding a taller bike, just something to get used too! I wouldn’t recommend a tall bike for beginners because it might be a bit intimidating, but any intermediate/ advanced rider shouldn’t be worried about height in my opinion

  • @EGARides-87
    @EGARides-87 3 года назад +1

    Did you literally say the CRF450L had less power? Its actually 2 horsepower more than the same year drz. Also, it's fuel injected, which is a significant improvement in power delivery over the dinosaur drz. Tell everyone the truth that you just didnt want to pay $1,500 more

    • @MostroMoto
      @MostroMoto  3 года назад +2

      Hey Steve, thanks for the comment. In the video I talked about the CRF450L and mentioned that it has higher maintenance intervals, and it’s higher strung compared to the DRZ. The bikes that I said have less power are the CRF300l & KLX 300. I love the CRF450RL! Fuel Injection in a motorcycle is pretty interesting, it actually doesn’t provide as much of a benefit as people think. Cars definitely benefit with fuel injection far more then motorcycles. Fortnine recently put out a comparison video of carburetors vs fuel injection! As far as the CRF450L, I’m actually planning on picking one up sometime in the future. Thanks for watching 😃

      the crf450 is HORRIBLE due to stalling issues!!!!......and the ONLY fix is a New Aftermarket ECU.......which are on backorder because of chip shortage. I can't believe Honda let those bikes roll off the assembly line....it's a massive problem that makes them unridable in stock form.
