Congrats! Mad props! As a rider if you have ever done any cross country trips on a bike you know how brutal it is. I can't fathom trying a Canonball on a bike. That is pretty incredible. And guess what, you didn't do it on a BMW! That may hurt a few of those saddle sore BMW guys egos a little bit! ROFL Could not agree with you more on the Russell Day Long saddles. Best investment anyone who plans any extended time in a saddle to make. Fantastic saddles. Yes, the forward pegs turn the rider into a kite. Good mod on those boards. I absolutely could see how that would make a huge difference. Great run!
I used to own an FJR1300 and the rider forum for that bike is full of long distance riders. Great bike, and will cruise all day at 140mph. In fact, that bike was the one I set my personal fastest speed on the street at 145. Only 4mph shy of my fastest speed on land of 149 set at Road Atlanta on a GSX-R 600.
The FJR is a lovely bike sadly they dont work with my leg lengths so i replaced mine with a BMW K1100LT. I would like to find a replacement for my K1100 as it starts getting a bit long in the tooth with 210 000 miles 😂
I have 50 years riding and I know how hard that run must have been. Topping off the fuel cell would have broke me! I'm old now. Cheers to you sir. Don't do it again! 🇨🇦

I’ve got a 2007 FJR 1300. Just bought it this year as a matter of fact. Really stoked for you man. I can’t believe I missed spotting for you. I wasn’t even aware of your run. Also, fellow Kansan here. I’ll bet you’re not too far away. My FJR takes forever to top off with fuel. I can’t imagine trying to fill it quickly.

Was thinking the same thing. One guy did it on a BMW 1000 R. What bike would you use to make the attempt? Something that runs triple digits effortlessly with lots of wind protection but gets great fuel mileage. It's fun to consider which bikes would work best.
@@r.williamcomm7693 Have ridden the FJR and at the time my daily was a GSXR1100 so for me FGR is top heavy and plain heavy , having that said would probably go with a 1400 Kaw Concours think the balance is better or figure out gas for the old GSXR , the bike is the least of your worry's , it's hitting something at 175 mph 🙂 i old an walk with a cane from broken bones and am very lucky to be stealing oxygen , is worth it for the fun 😁
Well done! Being used to riding a hardtail probably helped, but a decent custom saddle is something else. I was well used to racking up miles on my old GS 850s, and my ass got used to their saddles, but when I bought a used custom saddle that had hardly been broken in, it was like luxury.

Great story! I’ve rode 32 hours before on my Zuma 125 and I nearly fell asleep at the red lights coming home. I’m planning a trip on my Goldwing from Dallas to Bar harbor back home next year. My goal is 96 hrs total. I can’t wait to try some lobster rolls!
@@bakters i mean i dont think he was annoucing it as a feat just generally sharing but at the same point i would not wanna spend 96 hrs sitting on a bike, there is a reason alot of people who travel to thing like sturgis trailer there bike cause a long ride on a bike as enjoyable as it can be can also be very painful and end up ruining the rest of your trip
@@JugganLoo It's doable over a week. Non-stop it's insanity. Even if you start with a good night's sleep (which you won't, due to stress), it's additional 4 days of high exertion and absolutely no sleep. Whoever want's to attempt it definitely should start with just walking around and trying to stay awake for four days straight beforehand. Remember, that if you dose off even for 15 seconds, you likely never wake up again.
I'm a motorcycle rider, suzuki primarily and a oo trucker,I just wish handgrenades were legal because, grinns. I don't think I could pickup my 93 gsxr 1100,but I can't stay on that seat more than 2 hours, but she will blow.

Why don't motorcycles count? Motorcycles are at a disadvantage because of their tiny gas tanks, poor fuel economy, poor lighting, no room for countermeasures, and no place for a co-driver. Motorcycles are extremely hard to drive and must be constantly balanced unlike a car that just goes.

My FJR was 152mph, wide open, gps verified. Fantastic bike, all day comfort. Mine was a 2005.

I've had my 07 fjr for just over 2 years now and I daily ride it year round to work in Norcal
I had an 04 FJR 1300 back in the day - it is a sucha great bike congrats!

I personally have an fjr1300 and yes it's top heavy when your stopped. Once it's moving it handles almost as well as my supersports

Sounds like the fuel cell filler cap needs to be set off centre so it's upright when the bike is leaning on the kick stand.
