"Bad news from Houston, half my friends have died..." and she sings it with that big Molly smile. She can't help it, that's how much she loves playing. And we love her for that. Been watching this clip every other day for the last couple weeks. Can't get enough
what a pleasure to hear that twang -- I think Molly is loving it too - some smile that girl has . It also isn't easy to play and sing - pure pleasure . both bouncing off each other and there's one or two years difference
Seeing these two performing together is sublime. One day, many decades from now, Molly Tuttle will share the stage with a young virtuouso who idolized and was inspired by her playing.
What an absolutely sublime moment for Molly to be on stage with one of her idols and to have him say that it takes guts to get up there and play with you
Shame to say this, music is not a competition. Many great guitarist considered over the world are even the half of Molly or Tommy. Art is about emotion and feelings!
You crazy, just 15 minutes practise every day for start. After two months rise every 10 days for few minutes more! After 1 year you' see great progress!Good luck!!
You're not alone Wolfy ! 😁 Maybe we could have a marshmallows session around your campfire... 🤔🔥😅 I play guitar isnce i'm 11..i'm 54 now... 🤪 Molly Tuttle and Tommy Emmanuel...🌈 Greetings from France 🙋♂
Nothing about a good campfire jam anyone should be ashamed of bro! I bet you've put Tommy on marshmallow duty in your time! God, he's good tho isn't he? So is she too! Invite them both to your next campout put them to the test! 😅😊
Absolutely! Two of the most humble people. I've met them both several times backstage and such and they ALWAYS have time to talk/jam/give advice or anything else. Awesome people, and of course great pickers which goes without saying :)
I can't help but be happy for her after watching her develop over the years. I've been a Tommy fan for a long time too and saw him perform in New Jersey.
Not too many pickers can keep up with Tommy. But Molly holds her own with one of the greatest alive today. Imagine her, Tommy E, and Billy Strings together on stage. Holy cow!!
She makes it look as effortless, just like Tommy does. Amazing. Also, I always love how musical Tommy is, he seems to enjoy himself more when he is backing her up and listening to her play.
When Tommy listens to even his fans play during back stage meetings, he typically closes his eyes and listens to the notes/chords that they're playing and makes mental notes along the way of where they could improve, what they could play to make it easier for them or corrects a little part that may have been wrong from the original. He's awesome. I suspect that he also closes his eyes so as to not make them nervous.
I’m watching this video and I’m overwhelmed by the amazing talent and musical genius of these two. If anyone doesn’t like this they have something wrong with them
I went to school with Tommy and a Phil...except that they actually never attended. When we were in class they were in the family house in Stock Road Gunnedah NSW Australia playing guitars...1960s. It was a well rewarded truancy!
Molly already has the guitar talent and as she gets more experience, and more comfortable on stage, she’ll exude the joy that Tommy brings to his performances. He’s so funny and down-to-earth, it pulls the audience right in....a joy to watch them both!!
Probably the two best flatpickers in the business. Now just need to get Billy Strings up there with them. And while I love Townes Van Zandt, Molly owns this song - she sings it better than anyone and plays it at least as good as anyone - even Tommy!
Wow, we all know Tommy is a great player but Molly's playing was amazing. So accurate on those fast runs. I've not seen much of Molly before but I'm really impressed. What a talent !.
Takes a brave person to get up on stage and play guitar live with the likes of TE, and MT more than holds her own. Awe inspiring guitar. Hard to understand how 37 people have thumbs downed this clip ... I'd like to see THEM trade riffs with the great TE.
I think there’s a RUclips bot that sprinkles in a few dislikes just to rile people up. What’s to dislike about this? If you chose to watch this you can’t possibly be disappointed at this free offering of cross generational mastery.
@@keithclark486 Bum? That's a false accusation--he's a professional musician perhaps the world's best acoustic guitar player. Perhaps you're the real "bum."
Tommy is an Aussie icon, he is great to watch and listen too, saw him live twice, once with his late Bro Phil, another wealth of Talent (R.I.P Phil) . My fingers would get caught up in the strings trying to play that fast ! 🎵
I must add a few guitarists... Different styles but equally impressive. Kelly Joe Phelps, who has amazing vocals, too. Stephen Stills who is actually a real bluesman, properly trained by an old bluesman in the deep south. Gone from us too soon the one of a kind guitarist and harp guitarist, Michael Hedges. And I can't leave out David Crosby with his amazing harmony and odd tunings and the same could be said for Joni Mitchell. And everyone in Emmylou's original Hot Band! But Tommy and Molly just set the new high for finger picking bluegrass style. It left me wondering how Townes Van Zandt would have reacted?
Dear Molly, the duelling banjos 🪕 is a famous piece; however, with this performance you and Tommy could equally be praised with the accolade of duelling guitars - absolutely stupendous performance - Baz
That was so many notes... Whew! It was exercise to listen to because my guitar brain wanted to analyze what I was hearing, but it was SO GOOD!!!! Anyone got a cigarette? Whew, I may never be the same.
I met Tommy Emmanuel when he was playing in the remote outback of Australia with an country singer Buddy Williamns. I invited him to come around and I introduced him to the music of Doc Watson and gave him a tape of playing Live, amongst other things Deep River Blues. In those days he was playing just about anything - especially Chet - this was the mid 70s. He'd never heard of Doc. So each time I hear him play Doc's stuff I remember that evening.
You have to be bloody good to hold your own with Tommy. And she's so cute too. 😍
You have to be bloody good to hold your own with Molly.
They bring out the best in each other. Such a mutual admiration and connection they have gives us a beautiful blend in this duo.
"Bad news from Houston, half my friends have died..." and she sings it with that big Molly smile. She can't help it, that's how much she loves playing. And we love her for that. Been watching this clip every other day for the last couple weeks. Can't get enough
molly lights up tommy..so cool..young energy ..tommy of course is the master of all styles he is so humble
I have been playing for over 35 years, and cannot get anywhere close to this. And she's cute as hell!
It's kinda special to play with Tommy because he doesn't need a single other player to entertain.
Talent overload right here. Wow.
what a pleasure to hear that twang -- I think Molly is loving it too - some smile that girl has . It also isn't easy to play and sing - pure pleasure . both bouncing off each other and there's one or two years difference
My face hurts!! I'm smiling so hard and can't stop...PLEASE LORD...don't let it stop!
When you've been watching Tommy Emmanuel and Molly Tuttle videos for months and then get to watch them play together. Sublime.
I've got a ticket to see them Jan 2024!!! Just hoping I live long enough!!
Two of the most accomplished guitarists on the planet!
Seeing these two performing together is sublime. One day, many decades from now, Molly Tuttle will share the stage with a young virtuouso who idolized and was inspired by her playing.
There can be no doubt of that....
Yeah, just as Tommy continues to pay homage to Chet.
I like how you think Ed.

The most astonishing thing is this was clearly not rehearsed- just shows what fantastic musicians these two are. Magic.
In the immortal words of the late Chris Ivey, "I wish I could play ONE note that fast".
What an absolutely sublime moment for Molly to be on stage with one of her idols and to have him say that it takes guts to get up there and play with you
And I believe him!
These two have inspired me to sell my guitar. Mine doesn’t sound like this at all.
...or maybe just smash it 😆. No, seriously don't ever stop playin' YOUR music...
@@stevenjones6780 Burning it's ya best bet, that way there's no way to tape it back together.

Guitar heaven........
This is unreal. I thought I was playing guitar for the past 42 years - I just realised I'm slightly good enough for a campfire jam...
You're not alone Wolfy ! 😁

Same here fellas. Been playing since I was 10, now 45 and Molly is just making me jealous.

Fantastic to see them together. It’s really interesting to compare their right hand movements.
I think I forgot to breathe for that entire first tune.... :)
THIS MAKES ME HAPPY!!!
Wow! I can't even LISTEN that fast!
Molly always shows her appreciation and love for her fellow musicians by her secret smiles at them. Such a thorough-going pro. Same for Tommy

Molly is a one of a kind prodigy. One of the best pickers for sure!
This is crazy good. She is such a deadly accurate picker, and Tommy's lead dynamics and harmonic choices are out of this world.
Her right hand is off the charts!! So fast..yet so controlled...I just love her!
@@larryb7585 I saw Molly Live a little over a year ago and it was just extraordinary. Her picking hand is insane to watch. She's super human.
@@vasocreta Lucky!!😉👍
I couldn't agree more.
They are both real naturals that have worked very hard to get to a level most players could never achieve.
Tommy has played with hundreds if not thousands of guitar players around the world. I'm sure he will not forget Molly!
Off the chart magnificent
Tommy's compliment to her sums him up, class act
Tommy always makes me smile! I just discovered Molly and she is amazing, I will be following her.
Molly is a spectacular talent, and a wonderful blend of courtesy and charm - to use a couple of old words not much in use now.
and grace
two best guitarists in the World 🌎😍.. te amo T Emanuel... and Ms M Tuttle
thanks for sharing, y'all

seeing molly smile is so heartrwarming because u see how much of a hero tommy was for her...love u tommy

A thoughtful beautiful song
Mind blown wow just piggin awesome thank you
Many people here have described this piece as “Sublime”. This is indeed the most accurate word to use for playing that can’t be described.
My goosebumps have goosebumps.
BIG Smiles watching this. First TVZ and then Doc Watson. Love Doc.
Love them hearing them play Doc's "Tickeling the Strings". Blessings.
Lol.
Not too many pickers can keep up with Tommy. But Molly holds her own with one of the greatest alive today. Imagine her, Tommy E, and Billy Strings together on stage. Holy cow!!
There’s one out there now that you thought it.
Molly is straight up a better flatpicker than Tommy. Tommy's solos are flashier but Molly's improvisations are more melodic.
I can't even think that fast... spectacular!
Someone call the fire department!! Those guitars are ON FIRE!!!
She makes it look as effortless, just like Tommy does. Amazing. Also, I always love how musical Tommy is, he seems to enjoy himself more when he is backing her up and listening to her play.
The only thing Tommy does better than play lead is play back up for some one else. He truly enjoys other musicians.
When Tommy listens to even his fans play during back stage meetings, he typically closes his eyes and listens to the notes/chords that they're playing and makes mental notes along the way of where they could improve, what they could play to make it easier for them or corrects a little part that may have been wrong from the original. Back in the 1970's I would go and see this great rock band from Western Australia by the name of The Emmanuel Brothers
Phil died, sadly. A great loss to the world of entertainment.
I remember seeing Goldrush. Tommy played drums and he was good at it. I was assured he was a really great guitarist. :)
Probably the two best flatpickers in the business. Now just need to get Billy Strings up there with them. And while I love Townes Van Zandt, Molly owns this song - she sings it better than anyone and plays it at least as good as anyone - even Tommy!
They are just dynamite together...!!
Like Tommy’s Deep River Blues!
Doc Watson would be proud of this version!❤️
Merle Travis would say it's ott. NOT!

The thumbs down are maybe folks who thought they could play along and after the first couple of Molly's runs gave up and smashed their guitars.
