I remember when I first saw one of the horizon zero dawn walkers in the distance and I was like "WTF WTF WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON" then realised it was a hologram and just thought it was an awesome crossover!

When I saw the codec, i was just like, "so kojima really cant deliver exposition without codecs huh."
There's also a hidden Japanese Torii on top the mountain by the timefall farm. I'd recommend adventuring up it if you want to see it for yourself

Some people are upset about the Monster energy drink placement. What they don't realize is while Sony has millions, they are just the publisher. All games have individual budgets they have to adhere to. So, Kojima Productions probably had to fund the numerous cameos and possibly starring roles themselves. That's not cheap. Hence, why product placement is (was) used.
He has done it in every game he made. Caloriemate and Regainer are items you use in the Metal Gear series but are real products in Japan
Is funny, the weird special items you find IN Horizon Zero Dawn, now make sense with Death stranding

loved HZD; did you ever find the stranding necklace, doll, and third item in HZD? Can't remember what the third item is but love to see the back and forth - DS uses the Decima engine, same one that ran HZD - DS is easily my game of the decade, can't recommend it enough! Sincerely, a player with 238 hours in the game with 5 trophies to go before I platinum

Dudes - the "kept you waiting huh" line has been around looong before Metal Gear - Ground Zeroes, sniper Wolf has never had a hideout in a cave in any Metal Gear game - quite the opposite in fact, in a towerbuilding, the codec in Metal Gear is actually far more advanced than in Death Stranding (even the ones on MSX2) and has actually had portraits (sometimes animated in 3D as well as 2D - as you can see at 5:50 in this very video) for most of the games, Manhattan is significant in Death Stranding, not because of Metal Gear but because of it's history with bridge babies there and a great voidout that killed the United States President as stated in the "From the "Report on the Voidout in Manhattan" mails - nice catch with the GAME OVER screen though as well as the "strands" theory at the end

Also, Death Stranding is probably an easy pick for game of the decade.

This happening in the private room, i have a private room experience that kinda scared me. Here is what happened: *Sam knocks on BB's pod*,*BB knocks back*,*Sam knocks a tiny bit harder*,*BB does the same,*Sam knocks a bit more harder*,*BB starts hitting the pod and head butting it*, *Sam backs up*, *BB breaks the glass with his head and crawls through*, *Sam wakes up in a sweat*. Yeah kinda terrifying.
I love Death Stranding and im glad to see that others do as well!!
2:54, well "ludens man" translates to "playing man" or "man who is characterized by playing games" so I'd say that's a pretty apt description for Dorrito's Pope himself.
What about the boss fight with Higgs, which is done in a manner of fighting genre, and that refers to the final boss fight in mgs4, which was made in this manner too (two health bars, fighting-style camera and hand-to-hand combat)
Outside Heartmans office in a glass case is a human skull. Next to it is a Sahelanthropous skull.
I don’t think it’s an Easter egg per se, but I think my favourite discovery is watching BB take a swim in the hot spring with Sam.
And those heart bubbles are so cute!
And the fact that if you look down at BB as the odradek gives you the all clear thumbs up, BB does too.

The release date thing is amazing
They're a couple of cinematic parrallels as well:
- The Tree of Life: During Heartman's family story, the beach that he sees with everyone walking looks exacly like a scene were we see the afterlife...fitting.
- Apocalypse Now: During the last Cliff fight he rises from the water with marks on his face, just like in the movie during the climax.
- Under the Skin: *MINOR SPOILERS* after the giant BT fight with Higgs when he shoots you and go to the Beach, if you look up while swimming you can see a giant Amelie walking over it. In the movie there's an EXACT shot like that, as the victims on the film drown an allways look up to see a walking """woman"" over the water. Most of Amelie's character is soooo similar to the protagonist of that film.
- The End of Evangelion: *HUGE SPOILERS* when Sam is in the "moon" just sitting watching the beach covered in blood with the Earth on the background, looks like the film poster and everything about that scene feels a LOT like the apocalyptic climax of the movie.
Sorry for my bad english. Hope someone makes a video about those or maybe others that I didnt catch (besides the movie posters and soundtracks you can find).

While The Metal Gear Franchise wasn't intended to last as long as it did, it shouldn't come off as Odd that he'd make References to his Old Games. Some Soldiers or characters sometimes called him that instead of just Boss, Vic Boss, or Snake.
The product placements serve two purposes. 1: pay for easter eggs 2: commentary on how prevalent advertising is today.
Not to forget that Caloriemate and Regainer were also product placements of real products in the Metal Gear Solid series

I think "Low Roar - Easy way out" is also a reference to silent hills, maybe I'm wrong but whenever I hear that song it gives me the creeps 'cause I kind of hear Lisa moaning in that song! >.
Did you read the codex entry on the song? I find it interesting, because it just shows how kojima works. He went to Iceland got into a conversation with a guy who's in a band and then he made a game that fits their music just *too* perfectly.
Many people already know this but In the directors cut version of the game Monster energy™ is replaced by a In-universe energy drink.

Snake's catchphrase of "Kept you waiting, huh?" is from MGS1, and Big Boss certainly doesn't say it at the start of TPP, rather GZ in the MGSV duology. Sniper Wolf also didn't hide in a cave either. Stop talking about Metal Gear like you've played it before.
