I must say, I have a 2013 S60 R design and it has the Polestar tune. I will admit that the audio system needs help but I would like to disagree with him on two very important aspects he brought up. One the ride is not uncomfortable at all. It is sporty but after all it’s a sports sedan not a luxury sedan. The second thing he brought up was turbo lag now it does have very low amounts of it. If you lunch the car correctly the turbo kicks in at around 1800-2100 RPM that being said it rockets the car to 60 much faster than 5.5 seconds. But besides that very nice review
Thinking about one of these... Listed at 26k but the market is hurt and it’s end of the quarter this month so I’m hoping I have leverage towards whatever car im gonna buy. My credit score is meh but I have a big down payment, up to 10k.
To be honest, the 850 was a bit boxy but certainly was a fun car and that was back in the 1990s. Volvos should not be associated with being boxy. It's not the 90s anymore and the P2 Volvos weren't boxy in the early 2000s. Thanks for your excellent review. I comment here in 2020. This car would make an excellent CPO (certified pre-owned) for someone who wanted to get a fairly modern Volvo. The s60 is the best bet over the overly sedate s80 and v70/xc70. The s40/v50 isn't bad, though but it is the oldest of the generation and may be harder to find one in good shape.
i'm wondering how long does it take to turn the ignition on .. on this car there is a model ridiculously take to many steps before you be able to turn on the ignition and it was on Volvo ..
I had one of these built for me 2013, and after three months I'm really happy with it. Great interior, goes like hell, looks great with the metallic paint, and if you skip the foolish shit like back-up camera, the forward camera that tells you the speed limit, and the nav system, you can get in one for about 45K. Way less than BMW or Audi of the same caliber. If you're thinking about one of these other cars, find a dealer with an 'R' and test drive it, you just might buy one. Don't be a badge snob
I got the car in metallic silver and it looks great. It does get a lot of looks from other BMW,Audi,Benz drivers. With the special wheels/tires/brakes set up, it sure doesn't look like your mama's Volvo.
WIcked stuff, I agree not the best looking car or exactly have the rep of a bmw or audi. But you could certainly get some looks if you're taking off like a shot in that thing. Nice color too. I'm a blue man myself but the red is looking flashy.
Good review! I've heard the seats in the Volvo are the best in the business!
I am looking to buy one of these cars and this reviewed helped me a lot understand clearly a little more about the car.Keep up the good work.

only thing hate about Volvo interiors is that TI graphing calculator center stack.

A newcomer dares to challenge Tyson. *_FIGHT!!!_*
I drive an S60 R-Design 2015 Polestar...no one has matched the challenge and I've always dominated. An amazing car n or driver technical skills???
Great job on the review. Glad I'll be completely covered by walls of airbags when I inevitably crash the car doing something stupid, fast.
Sound system not sounding good? Then mess with the full equalizer that's available with the car....

Don't use the word "Cheaper" use "Less Expensive", my 2 cent.

Kh Wong yea, they could put a Ford Focus badge on this and I wouldn't bat an eyelash.
You don't know what you're talking about. Ever actually been in an automobile?
Laweeze Morton I own one of these. Maybe it looks cheap in the video, but it doesn't feel cheap or look cheap in person.
