She played at Roskilde 2003 as well, and I happened to have a security function, at the concert. I'm a big Velvet Underground fan, and after "Candy Says" she would jump down from the stage and asked me and my colleague to lift her down. She noticed I had a packet of cigarettes in my t-shirt pocket and asked me for one. I was so honored to give her the f'ing cigarette and i rushed home at bought the record and all of Portisheads.
Just found this album. Never really listened to Portishead, but I'm a massive Talk Talk fan. Now I gotta go listen to more Portishead because her voice is amazing.
Isn’t it both Geoff and Adrian from Portishead on stage? Geoff playing Harmonium and Adrian playing guitar on the first song. With Paul Webb playing accordion and Lee Harris behind the drums.
Mysteries When the time bell blows my heart And I have scored a better day Well nobody made this war of mine And the moments that I enjoy A place of love and mystery I'll be there anytime Oh mysteries of love Where war is no more I'll be there anytime
Beth, meinen Frieden fand ich bei der franz. Luftwaffe, 1989. Korsika Unforgetten, Wir sind durchgedreht MA, Almammergretta, Zion Train im Land + 1000 Carabiniere, wir konnten unser Glück nicht fassen!
How have I never heard about this beautiful collection of incredible music?? I LOVE this so much!!!Found Out of Season as I was researching Lives Outgrown. I think I love Out of Season the most!!!
Out of Season is the rarest of records. Glad you found it. “Rustin Man” here is Paul Webb, formerly of Talk Talk. For everyone in love with this music, Talk Talk’s The Colour of Spring (1986) and Spirit of Eden (1988) are right up there with Out of Season.
...and to finish with a flourish, a piece by the unforgettable maestro Ennio Morricone, who would certainly have been happy to "appear" on this stage, among these human wonders!
Wonderful! 👏👏👏 In case your didn't know Paul Webb is Rustin Man. Who is Paul Webb? He was the bassist of the extraordinary band Talk Talk. In addition of having the collaboration of Beth Gibbons, he also has the help of Lee Harris on the drums. Who is Lee Harris? He was the drummer of Talk Talk 😳 For me, there are moments of this concert that recalls me the sound of Talk Talk 's two last records. Cool!
Well what should one say, your art is missing, something old from your archives would also please the fans, alternative versions of your studio albums, your soundboards from 1995 to today, the many camera angles of your concerts, do you sometimes think of the people who are your wealth have created .... be creative, income can also be donated.
The world needs more humans like Beth Gibbons.
👍

Sand River is the best for me - though this performance is not as strong as that on the album
Funny time of year is a masterpiece.
It requires a really specific code to have, so you can feel it.
Its far above any other level.
Two thirds of Portishead along with two thirds of Talk Talk, what an excellent collaboration and one of the best albums ever made.
Just found this album. Never really listened to Portishead, but I'm a massive Talk Talk fan. Now I gotta go listen to more Portishead because her voice is amazing.

Any of you citizens of the world, if u have hq video of this concert, id like to buy it, please..
My God, it's like a religious experience.
This was wonderful. I was so happy to see Lee Harris and Paul (Rustin Man) Webb in this ensemble. But this was 21 years ago. Where are they now?
Looking for Lee Harris, I discovered Beth and she seems to me to have great musical talent

You know it’s a GREAT album when every track is someone’s favorite. For me, it was Sand River. But, now it’s Drake
It's no wonder Amy Lee has put her in the top ten of inspirational people. Her voice is beautiful.
God, Herself ❤

What’s the song at the very end when she’s signing stuff? Lol amazing
story of a soldier by ennio morricone
Those two first tracks on her solo LP... Better than any track Portishead ever made. And I do like Portishead. But wauw, evergreens!
The whole album is incredible..... but Drake is my fave!

It sure is. A work of genius 🤷🏼♀️
I try to not be so dejected
Which music is playing at the very end when Beth is shaking hands to the public? I know it from some film but I can't remember which song/film it was
