This song is about, building your own little golden nest..
Floor is the only person that I could picture headbanging to the soundtrack from On Golden Pond. She just loves her music and I love that about her
This performance, like so many of Nightwish's performances, always puts a smile on my face. It's a real feel good song, which bounces along, taking you with it. And, of course, the fact the band are having such a good time, loving what they do, is infectious. It's so pleasing to see happy faces on stage. Even Floor's wee sigh, at the end, is appealing.

This is one of the ones I prefer the Tampere version over the Wembley one. TGSOE being another.
And yes, you are right when you say Floor's voice is "welcoming". That is a perfect description!
The nineteenth century poet Henry David Thoreau published in 1854 an inspiring book about his stay near Walden Pond, this must have inspired Tuomas.

My Walden is one of my favs, especially this version. Marko's bass line in the beginning ,- never get tired of it. I know exactly what you mean by welcoming. That is exactly how I described Floor and Nightwish when I introduced them to my wife 4 years ago. They draw you in and all ya can do is smile. If you haven't watched "The Islander" from this show - watch it. It's one of Marko's best efforts. Another band you might like is Within Temptation. They are amazing also.
That one is coming up next, this Wednesday! ☺️ It's a new one to me. 😁

You are right, all members of Nightwish are like a family. When Tuomas had been asked in 2015 how Floor - in his opinion - now feels being part of Nightwish he said "she is at home now" and Floor said "they all are like brothers to me". And they all love what they do. By the way, when Troy starts singing it is in Welsh; he is playing the Uillean Pipes, the Irish kind of pipes.
5 days ago I got to see her live solo in Eindhoven/NL - it was a real experience for sure!

This one in Tampere is videoed much better than the Wembley version. In the Wembley version they take the camera off Floor during the chorus when she’s singing the higher part and raising her hand each time. Here in Tampere you can see the fans raising their hands along with Floor!
Although they did get that excellent sign "We love Troy's massive pipe!".
Ohh okay! Yeah, it bothers me when that kinda stuff happens. 😂 Or during guitar solos (for any band) sometimes they show the singer just walking around instead of the guitar player. 😬
Where does this song take me? Since I am a bit too fond of chocolate, the line "chocolate shops" resonates with me more than it should 😁 Innkeeper's welcoming call, greenwood concerto, this song is full of dreamy beautiful lines, taking me to a place where I'd rather be. A stroll through an old town, walking on a cobblestone street, passing old stone and wooden houses , well, maybe not just passing the chocolate shop, I may or may not go in there. When I walk by one house, I can hear laughter, the sound of beer glasses hitting eachother, an acoustic guitar, and a beautiful singing voice. Above the door hangs a wooden sign, that says "The Happy Dutchwoman" and I peer through the slightly open door, smile, and continue my walk down the street. I can hear birds singing, I look up over the rooftops, the sun is painting the surrounding mountains golden, and the calm, warm wind makes the trees growing on the mountainside whisper to me. I walk out of the town, following a narrow forest path up the mountain. A squirrel stops to look at me, before bolting up a tree. I sit down on a tree stump , looking down at the town below. The laughter and music from the inn blend with the sounds of the forest. I take a deep breath, listening to the greenwood concerto, and the wind blowing through the trees, thinking to myself, yeah, I'll sit here forever...

Another Band you should listen to is Within Temptation they are Dutch like Floor. These days they do more rock metal but at the start they were symphonic and awesome. Check out their concert ``Black Symphony ``in 2008, was filmed with the Metropole Orchestra in Rotterdam. Sharon den Adel is another perfect vocalist. I`ve also been listening to them for over 20 years.
Lol, here's your reminder, Troy is playing the Uilleann (ill-en or ill-yen) pipes and then the Irish Low Whistle. Yeah, the 3 part harmony between Floor Marko and Troy is awesome.
Next up at Tampere, a new to you song. Marko singing lead on "The Islander".
And more symphonic rock/metal, you could come back to Within Temptation, you've only done 2, try "Ice Queen"
Maybe think of them as elbow pipes, as air is not breathed into the sack but pumped by the elbow/arm

And yeah, I will have to listen to more Within Temptation. I know one is still blocked (I'm assuming permanently at this point) so I was a little hesitant, the one with Tarja (Paradise).. but I could give it another whirl!

Wonderful reaction to a wonderful song. I would recommend to you Within Temptation. Another great symphonic metal-band. (I wonder what's in a drinkingwater of Netherlands? From there comes so many wonderful metal singing ladies).

A friend introduced me to an album Forest Seasons by the band Wintersun which has a similar way of storytelling, I also believe their drummer served time in Nightwish..the first songs I heard from Wintersun were The Forrest That Weeps (Summer) and Loneliness (Winter)

Do try a band called Kamelot who were supporting Nightwish back in 2012 when Annette departed and Floor stepped into the breach. Kamelot are simply a wonderful band with a great singer - Tommy Karevik, and before him Roy Khan, an equally brilliant singer. I also highly rate a German band called 'Beyond the Black' , female fronted again (Jennifer Haben) who has the seal of approval by none other than Floor herself! They are all described as Symphonic Metal but not in the same way as Nightwish. P.S , Also 'Ad Infinitum' who's lead singer is Melissa Bonny and she actually tours with Kamelot too to perform not only clean vocals but harsh vocals too!😊

Epica is second only to Nightwish, but Nightwish have no peers.
I don’t know why but this one never really resonated with me, I do like it but not in the same way as most of the others, strange 🤷♂️. If you’re looking for something different but still Symphonic Metal, have a look at Delain and their song Queen of Shadow, it was released last year I think and it’s Napalm records so shouldn’t have Copyright issues.
