I Lost my Wife on September 23rd to ALS! She fought this Beastly Disease with every fiber of her Strength Dignity and Being. Our 38th Wedding Anniversary was July 18th. She Absolutely Loved Pink Floyd and this was her Favorite Song. It is really amazing that I Love it as much as She has. It brings out alot of emotions from me but I never stop listening to it because I know She Loves it so much😪😪
So sorry for your loss, but everytime you listen to this just think about the joy she had listening to Pink Floyd, music has this mystical thing that brings out all kinds of emotions just remember the happy ones. Again sorry for your loss.
I'm very sorry for your loss, Tim. I had a friend who passed from ALS. It is a horrible disease that is terrible for all involved. My prayers for your wife, for you, and your family. I'm so very sorry........

Thank you David for sharing the unmatchable magic you create with six strings. You and Pink Floyd are the 8th wonder of the world. Saw you 3 times I'm 58 now and seeing you one more time is at the top of my bucket list.
Sometimes I think Rick Wright never got the credit he was due. As a guitarist Dave Gilmour is one of my heroes. However the more I dissect Floyd the more I appreciate mr. Richard Wright. His playing would Inspire any guitarist. Godspeed Rick
When I listen to this song, I get lost in the music. I forget all the bad things happening in my life for the thirteen minutes. That’s what good music does to you, it engulfs you and overcomes you. Thank you lord for David Gilmour.
Man, let me tell you... "remember when you were young", I was still in my diapers in 1975 when my mother blasted this music out on the streets of a small town down South Ukraine. I'm 43 now and get chills every time I listen to it - timeless! Thank you, Floyd!
I went to see Pink Floyd in concert in Atlanta when I was 24-26 I dont remember exactly. I really didnt have the money at the time but against my better judgment I thought I'll spend the money that needed to go against rent and try to see them. It was about 30 minutes before the concert at the Omni and I found a scalper that had a single ticket that was close to regular price. It was all the money I had but cool, I'm going to see Pink Floyd. I felt irresponsible at the time but it seemed that this was something I may never have the opportunity experience again. Now looking back after all these years it was one of the wisest decisions I've ever made in my 55 years now, I was completely blown away. It was beyond epic, Jesus, how I would have regretted not buying that ticket now.
I turned 65 last year. I remember the old people saying they didn't know where the time went, and now I'm thinking the same thing. One thing has been constant, though: my love for Pink Floyd, from their very beginnings. It gives me hope that an old man can still kill it.

i couldnt do it even if i was good i would be petrified to stand on that stage. david is alone in front of the crowd and has to start the tune alone on the guitar. better not miss a note a beat or a string bend. imagine your bend goes flat or sharp and no one is backing you
on the other hand i watched and listened to what the session guy is playing just a few chords here and there and the four notes of the riff and the tempo is slow so i would say it s pretty safe for a session guy they are real pros
I first saw them in concert in the summer of 1973, I can still recall the great sound when they played the entire album of Dark Side of the Moon. Legends live on forever.

To be frank he is and always was "crappy" when it comes to the technicality of playing the guitar, but feel-wise.. he is one of the best performers I have ever heard. He might play a bunch of off-notes but he will ultimately rock your world. That's how I take him. Sorry, no offense.

You shall live on forever the whole world around. It’s not just about those guitars. You played them for us all. And you will.......so many more times. Thank you for being you. X

You can do things like this when you have one of the greatest selling albums of all time (DSOTM). Without it, it probably would have never been delivered. The band used to fight the record company EMI all the time, and they weren't willing to compromise. Today people are doing their own music labels and releasing their own music, so if anything it is a renaissance of music I think. You can share music to millions without spending a dime. Tubes firing hot, can taste the argon and space charge. There’s few tracks of the day that compare. Timeless track. Thank you for sharing! Hopefully I’ll meet Mr Gilmour oneday!
Впервые услышал эту композицию в 1978 году на кассетном магнитофоне по тем временам это было очень круто но с тех пор влюбился в Пинков люблю ценю и уважаю до настоящего времени
Ugh the beginning synth and guitar solos make me so sad! This song was for Syd, and now it's for Rick too. It's so weird without Rick on keyboards. RIP gentlemen, Shine on you crazy diamonds down from above.
I was driving one night on I-40 coming back from Bristol, TN over forty years ago and this song came on the radio. I was glued to the radio. At the time I did not know who it was. After the song ended, the d.j. came on and told who it was, Pink Floyd. Went the next day and got the album. I still have my DSOTM album from when it first came out. I would love to just play rhythm for Mr. Gilmore for just one song. He's the BEST.
Lazy Jesus WOOOW! I guess I fall more on Roger Waters’ side of the fence than I’d care to admit. And I suppose that means my other musical heroes such as Chris Cornell, Layne Staley, Scott Weiland, Dimebag Darrell, Tom Petty etc etc” not to mention my mother and sister still live”. Personally I’d much prefer they ACTUALLY WERE STILL ON THIS EARTH including Syd and Richard!
All 4 of my dogs lay down and there ears go up when they hear pink floyd. Exspecially David Gilmore's voice. I wish I could post a pic here. Its crazy. Wish they were still touring. I never got to see pink floyd live. One of my favorite bands!!
The best remedy for nearly all eg. 'psychiatric diseases' ... help people to shine, and don't block them in childhood. Otherwise... numb. So much essence in these songs. If the whole world would see this...
Their reunion Tour is Epic! The sound gets better, the Light show is astounding, breathtaking & I have repeated their Music since I was in Elementary School, some 45 years ago, so chill & by Happy! 💗🌹🎶🎸👍☺✌💖🙏🙅🙇🌼
My oldest daughter, 12 right now, fell in love with this song when she heard it for the first time when she was 3 or 4 in the backseat of my 2004 Infiniti G-35. (I miss that car, and so does she and her sister). She calls it the "Note song", for the four iconic notes near the beginning...ish of the song. Not many 7th graders today can sing, word for word, at least ten Pink Floyd songs. Her friends think she likes weird music, but we just laugh. GOOD GOOD times.
My all times favorite band! I grew up with their music! Their music is timeless. I was born in 1972 and my parents listened always to their music, so you can see that already at a young age i got it with the bottle! Love you guys!

Spectacular in all ways. The musicians, music, venue and showmanship. A beautiful song in a 2500 year old amphitheater.
So many countries and nationalities united here by an only language: pink floyd's music!!

That Song is the best of the century !!!!
This performance is so good that it brought tears to my eyes. Shine on.
David Gilmour es el número uno!
Tubes firing hot, can taste the argon and space charge. There’s few tracks of the day that compare. Timeless track. Thank you for sharing! Hopefully I’ll meet Mr Gilmour oneday!
My favorite version of shine on, the way Gilmoure played the guitar and the way he sang, you can really feel the music
Впервые услышал эту композицию в 1978 году на кассетном магнитофоне по тем временам это было очень круто но с тех пор влюбился в Пинков люблю ценю и уважаю до настоящего времени
Таже история! Один к одному!
Слушаю все свою жизнь
Ugh the beginning synth and guitar solos make me so sad! This song was for Syd, and now it's for Rick too. It's so weird without Rick on keyboards. RIP gentlemen, Shine on you crazy diamonds down from above.
Amen
We are all crazy diamonds......that is the message.....
And no nock mason either.
Richard also
And nick mason
I was driving one night on I-40 coming back from Bristol, TN over forty years ago and this song came on the radio. I was glued to the radio. At the time I did not know who it was. After the song ended, the d.j. came on and told who it was, Pink Floyd. Went the next day and got the album. I still have my DSOTM album from when it first came out. I would love to just play rhythm for Mr. Gilmore for just one song. He's the BEST.
Happy new year, friends.
Long live Pink Floyd. Long live to Roger, David, Nick, Rick and Syd.
Rick and Syd are in peace.
Eternity is real!
Eduardo Domingo Calderón Parreño unfortunately BOTH RICHARD Wright and Syd Barrett have passed away! *SMH
And yet they still live, shine on!
Класс. Хочется, что-бы это никогда не заканчивалось.
Мне 60 , а слушаю если не каждый день,то через день.Это классика.
This is awesome . Solo is perfect ...
David Thank you, I want to send you flowers from Holland.
My all times favorite band! I grew up with their music! Their music is timeless. I was born in 1972 and my parents listened always to their music, so you can see that already at a young age i got it with the bottle! Love you guys!
Happy New Year to all Floyd fans - From India.
