It’s not the guys in Phobophilic’s first band but I guess it’s kinda their first death metal band i guess. A few of the members were in hardcore bands for years leading up to forming Phobophilic but it might actually be the vocalists first band. They’ve been a big part of the Fargo scene for quite a while and I’m stoked to see them getting this level of recognition.
@@bradbaker4679 the vampire Guy hahah. And he insists to use that red eyes lens... If at least his recommendations were as good as Blayne, but whatever, to each his own.
Toadeater sounds pretty cool (though, in stark contrast to Blayne, I actually love that pretty, Alcest-esque post-black with a ton of atmospherics, lol).
I was on a plane to Iceland in spring of 2022 and on the "Sound of Iceland" radio playlist was, take a guess.... Zhrine. I was blown away that a mainstream airliner would have black metal in any playlist at all, let alone a band as sick as Zhrine.
Finally. About time Blayne I was worried you weren’t gonna do a metal monthly. I actually need this video weekly yknow considering how much metal is pushed on Bandcamp these days. Also, the record I have says Idle Hands too, so Idle Hands they are.
8:00 is precisely why I love BangerTV. As an amateur music journalist in reviewing metal records I probably would have never caught wind of Cruz had I not checked out this video. Going to make sure I get Cruz for a review.
She also has a death metal band called Crossspitter, they only have a demo for now, but its worth checking out and she brings the riffing with a vengeance.
another great release this month is the new innumerable forms record. i bought it early at their euro tour, its some of the best deathdoom ive heard in a while
Searching for a Death Metal name for September? May I suggest Septicmember? The picks sound fucking great this month BTW. Gonna be looking out for Cruz and Toadeater that’s for sure!
I wouldn't call Miscreance Thrash metal. It has thrash elements but it sounds like Pestilence, Early Cynic, Atheist and latter Death. Hell it even sounds like M.V.D. on vox. All which were progressive Death Metal bands.
Hey Blayne. Great sounds and show. Top do! Thanks for the usual palate cleanser. Sonja sound like Cauldron......from the clip anyway.. FYI prefer Cauldron. 🤘👍
Yo Blayne, What's going on on this vid? You sound tired or stoned.. or something :P Great music an video tho! Miscreance singer sounds like Martin van Drunen 🤘
Miscreance sound and look much like atheist, but with Martin Van WhatsHisName from Asphyx on vocals. Sounds great. Find it a bit strange that it's catagorized as thrash though. I wouldn't call it any more thrash than atheist. I think that in the late 80s early 90s if a band bordered the line between thrash and death, it would be considered death if it had progressive elements. Now the same bands would be considered tech/progressive thrash. I thought the same with Vector. To me they seemed more akin to the band Death than any thrash band.
Blayne check out this band called Fyre Toolz, its insane, like 1990s sitcom theme songs meets wicked blastbeats and black metal drones. I admit I saw it on Fantano but its not Fantanocore at all.
I listened to Miscreance once and still can't recover. These guys are amazing
They sound remarkably like old Pestilence, if you haven't gotten into those guys try testimony of the ancients. Killer stuff all around
cheers!
Same!
ALICE TE GO SGAMAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
@@axinth ADORO VECIO, MA NON HO BEN CAPITO CHI SEI TU PERÒ DAL CANALE
The singer of Miscreance sounds so much like Martin Van Drunen
I had to go check metallum to make sure it wasn’t Van Drunen
Like Van Drunen with a touch of John Tardy. Great voice!
He's close, very close but not EXACTLY van Drunken.
Been looking forward to Phobophillic for a long time! Can’t wait for the new album! Behemoth, Phobophillic, Autopsy and Revocation are all on my list
I just received my copy of Toadeader. I probably would never have heard of this band without you. so thank you very much!
Stoked to hear the Phobophilic album. Gonna check out Toadeater now. Thanks again Blayne!
Lots to check out. THANK YOU Blayne for what you do. Not only are you entertaining, your taste in METAL is very similar to mine in many areas.

Toadeater sounds really cool!! I’ll be checking them out for sure
Thank you, Blayne. Wil be checking out Phobophilic, Toadeater, and Sonja for sure.
A new Blind Guardian ? I guess we'll soon see Sarah...
I'm gonna listen to Miscreance and Toadeater.
Thanks for the recommendations, Blayne !
Happy to help!
Stoked for The Nine Choirs by Tribal Gaze and Philosophical Collapse by Innumerable Forms coming out the Friday 🤘🏾 great list Blaine
Great recommendations Blayne, among the best I've seen on BangerTV recently.
Yeah, definitely better recommendations than the Vampire guy and “Doc” from Back to the Future!
@@bradbaker4679 the vampire Guy hahah. And he insists to use that red eyes lens... If at least his recommendations were as good as Blayne, but whatever, to each his own.

Blaine loves his black metal and mustaches
An Abstract Illusion was great. Looking forward to Wolfheart.
I've been listening to Woe from AAI couple times since I saw it suggested on Bangers. Really enjoying it!
Thanks, Blayne. Appreciate the effort.
Toadeater is awesome. Their previous album was also excellent.
I was on a plane to Iceland in spring of 2022 and on the "Sound of Iceland" radio playlist was, take a guess.... Zhrine. I was blown away that a mainstream airliner would have black metal in any playlist at all, let alone a band as sick as Zhrine.
They also had Auðn when I was there
Woo-hoo, you're NOT a missing person after all! Got the Megadeth, Ozzy, Bloodbath and Revocation albums so far, Heads For the Dead still on order!
You found me!
Finally. About time Blayne I was worried you weren’t gonna do a metal monthly. I actually need this video weekly yknow considering how much metal is pushed on Bandcamp these days.

I almost thought this wasn't gonna come, and research streams ready to go. Mega list Blayne again!!! Thanks
Toadeaters returning the crown was great too, as one of my fave post black.
Me too, glad it did.
Better late than never!

Going to make sure I get Cruz for a review.
I am - eternal steele is the best album of this month if not this year
Yes, love that album too!!!
Thanks for the heads up on the CLUTCH release!!
That Cruz song sounded sick. Looked them up on Spotify and they have 106 monthly listeners........ wtf!
The new Innumerable Forms album, Philosophical Collapse, is going to be one of the best death metal albums of the year. Out 9/16
Damn I wish Melissa Moore would have continued playing Black Thrash, her riffing is some of the best in that genre.
She also has a death metal band called Crossspitter, they only have a demo for now, but its worth checking out and she brings the riffing with a vengeance.
Agreed, but Sonja is super strong so my hope is that she has a few projects on the go eventually with some heavier stuff in there.
@@Falxifer95 Hell yea, will check them out.
Rumpelstiltskin Grinder had some great riffin too
Sonja...she? I wanna say no.
Haha “no drummer can ever vocalist…” CLASSIC!
Toadeater rips, thanks!
"Have a listen." Goes straight to commercial 😂
Miscreance is amazing! They sound nothing like thrash but rather death metal. Still awesome tho
Let me see if I have this straight. Blind Guardian was released on Nuclear Blast, then Nuclear Winter released Cruz, then Cruz del Sur released Sonja.
New Behemoth is great, front to back. Got my copy three days early in the mail.
Well worth the wait. Checking out all recommended bands
Cruz channels that old Entombed spirit hard. Well done!
gawd daaannnggg you good at this BLAYNE. BADASS! TY!!!!!
That snippet of Miscreance did not read as thrash to me whatsoever. Seemed like some textbook Death-style progressive death metal. But what do I know?
Thought the same
Other songs have parts that are more thrashy, the line is blurred with that album imo.
Saw Phobophilic before Covid. So good. Sadly have lost my tshirt.
Good excuse to buy more merch though!
These recommendations are sick !!! Blayne you are by the the best banger by far!!!!
Thank you Metal Monthly! Best dang show on the Tube! 👏
Dude i cant wait for that phobophilic record
lol... I love it when music is technical, as long as it's well written.
Tankard will be releasing new album - Pavlov's Dawgs, on September 30, 2022
All these bands sound great and will be checking them all out. But . . . WARFORGED! WARFORGED! WARFORGED! WARFORGED! And I AM.
Bexadde is such a great album
Check out "burn in hell" by "Foxor", came out this month, wicked sound!
Wtf was that jumpscare with the KEN Mode cover? hahahaha
It’s a great month, it’s a great day for Sweden 🇸🇪 🎉❤
Stoked for Autopsy’s new album their single slapped.
Miscreance very good !
miscreance really gives me obliveon vibes
I'm guessing Sarah will be reviewing the new masterpiece album from Sumerlands and that's why it wasn't mentioned in this video?
another great release this month is the new innumerable forms record. i bought it early at their euro tour, its some of the best deathdoom ive heard in a while
Miscreance sounds like full on Death worship. Got Chuck style leads all over it. I'm going to put on Human...
Read the Vs like Us.
Opus Contra Naturam.
Wolfheart - King of the North on the 16th!! If you like Finnish metal and melodeath, you'll like this.
Never clicked on a video so fast
Sonja! F yeah! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
So Sharon has wheeled Ozzy back into the studio all Weekend at Bernie's like to churn out another lp of drivel, cuz she needs some new jewelry eh?
Probably a new face lift.
One of my favorite Italian thrash/Speed metal bands is Baphomet's Blood. it's like satanic Motorhead lol
wow that phobophillic song is sick!!! good pick
You guys gotta check out the new Barn album Habitat. It’s a banger.
Death Metal September! Death Metal superiority!
Is the label called NUCLEAR Blast or NUCULAR Blast?
My brother's name is Cruz. I'll have to show him that band. Lol
Searching for a Death Metal name for September? May I suggest Septicmember?
The picks sound fucking great this month BTW. Gonna be looking out for Cruz and Toadeater that’s for sure!
Haha that's a pretty good one!
Doesn’t smell like a good one though. 😵💫
Blaine is becoming more James Hetfield lookalike day by day.
I'll take it!
Check out Engraver for Italien thrash, fitting for helloween too
Right out of the gate I thought Cruz was the dumbest name for a Metal band. Then along comes Toadeater. Luckily the music is all top notch.
Cruz is a good name for a skate punk band and Toadeater is a good stoner band name. Neither are good names for what they are.
New End split, Bloodbath and Stray From the Path. Tasty.
Always love the sass and new monthly metal (without nu metal), Blayne!
I wouldn't call Miscreance Thrash metal. It has thrash elements but it sounds like Pestilence, Early Cynic, Atheist and latter Death. Hell it even sounds like M.V.D. on vox. All which were progressive Death Metal bands.
You forgot one of my favorite bands. Gearea. Bm from Portugal. Their 4th release is out later this month. It's epic. Please review.
At first glance at the clip i thought - is Sonja's band made up entirely of alternate timeline Daniel Dekays?
Hey Blayne. Great sounds and show. Top do! Thanks for the usual palate cleanser. Sonja sound like Cauldron......from the clip anyway.. FYI prefer Cauldron. 🤘👍
6:00 Hey, if you want some MORE Italian thrash, look no further than 'Children Of Technology' 🍕🍕
Dont forget The Callous Daoboys new album Celebrity Therapist, it is excellent
Miscreance is basicly pestilence, pretty good
Yo Blayne, What's going on on this vid? You sound tired or stoned.. or something :P Great music an video tho! Miscreance singer sounds like Martin van Drunen 🤘
I thought he sounded super low energy too. Kinda phoning it in almost. Blayne mate, we all hope you’re well!
I thought the same thing watching it, but don't remember anything feeling different haha. Guess I got a bad sleep?
Probably the air show
Miscreance sound and look much like atheist, but with Martin Van WhatsHisName from Asphyx on vocals. Sounds great.

Is the new Darkthrone out this month?
10/28
@@joeln901 cheers fella
Sonja reminds me of Cauldron - In Ruin. Check em out !

I'm here!
dude....after this video, im playing some motherfucking duck hunt
I was getting worried you got lost or something
Blayne check out this band called Fyre Toolz, its insane, like 1990s sitcom theme songs meets wicked blastbeats and black metal drones. I admit I saw it on Fantano but its not Fantanocore at all.
Blayne knows new music, but he is still a goofball
Bro, can you take an ear on Majestic Downfall? and let me your review please? would be awesome to know your opinion as you express sounds :3
No Wolfheart?
Sonja is the best one from here
Gotta shout out the new record Dimensional Bleed by Holy Fawn! Currently my #3 album of the year
No mention of innumerable forms and mortuous cmon blayne i thought you liked death doom
Hell yeah!
Tombcantation ! I see what you did there 👍🏻
What i really wonder is how many metal t-shirts Blayne have, anyway pretty rich metal monthly !
LOL 'Some shit with too many V's'
Please someone use that as an album title
But that title would only have one V in it.
Shout out new Innumerable Forms and Faceless Burial
sumerlands should have been the palette cleanse
Getting Mastodon vibes from Sonja.
Vermin Womb has a new one coming out for any grindcore fans here in the comments
It's a face melter for sure. Pure carnage, great album.
