This show is amazing, we're cheering for the villains. Gross once said "if you had restored eldia you'd be butchering us marleyans right now" and that's exactly what's going to happen
Well to be fair the villains suffered a lot too 🤔 Sure Eldia tormented Marley. But then Marley came to power and torment Eldia and the rest of the world. None of them are better than either, though Eldians were the first to start it so...
@@hameezi yeah but Marley didnt seek to commit world genocide and try looking at it from the perspective of the rest of the world would you treat the offspring of titan transforming monsters any better than they do?
Thus is the vicious cycle. Personally I find Marley more justified in the long run then Eldia. I can't help but shake that Eldians application of titans for so long and so severe has just been burned into the Psyche of Marley. Hence why they now just use the tactics of old because well... it is a pretty effective biological weapon. I ain't naive to call them the good guys but I think their measures while cruel have been borne out of mindset that rubbed off them during Eldias time as the top dogs.
@@italianodblaugrana3842 (Spoilers down in case you are an anime only) Shingeki No Kyojin tries to constantly tell the people that there’s no heroes or villains in the story, just people that do what they gotta do to survive. Eren seeking for genocide is basically the fault of Marley, who refused to have peace with Paradis Eldians, then, just before Eren attacked, Willy declared war on Paradis island, they basically brought all of this by themselves.
tbh, its really true since King Fritz sealed Eldians since he predicted in the future and warned all of them that if Marleyans intervened or destroyed the walls, Something really bad will happen King Fritz dont wanna continue what they did to Marleyans and other people even though he had more than enough power to destroy but he just sealed Eldians So, Walls are made to protect other people from gruesome hell
That's what i did too. When he said "my name is Jaegar", i was like wait...why have they switched names? Is there some mind fuck stuff happening here? Then i realised it was Dr Jaegar when he started talking about his two kids and i was like SHIT!
SPOILERS for the manga: eren not caring about what his grandfather said makes a lot of sense, it shows how he’s slowly losing compassion to those outside of the walls. not only that, but i think he’s very much being influenced by grisha’s memories of him. grisha absolutely despised his father because, to him, he represented what grisha hated the most; the loss of freedom and guilt. eren’s probably influenced by his father’s dislike of his own father, that plus the fact he already knows what the man did - nothing he said would have surprised him. eren sees him having regrets as the obvious, i think he might’ve showed more of a reaction had he not been regretful. eren sees a disconnect between himself and those who don’t sympathize for eldians, a disconnect which leads to him feeling like the rumbling is the only valid way to save his people.
Not only that, Mr Jaeger is the exact type of person that Eren hates most about not just people from the outside world but people in general. The kind of people that aren't free and glorify their oppressors and smile and thank them when they're treated worse than animals. As Eren said, "They are no better than cattle."
I mean they showed zeke literally calling him grandfather and he introduced himself as Jaeger. But I get it my sister was confused too when he introduced himself as Jaeger.
The most disturbing part about this is how deeply this hits hurts him even all these years later. The mere thought sends him into uncontrollable wails. Super disturbing to think about how long he's been suffering.
People seem so surprised by Eren not really caring about his Grandfather. You're forgetting the fact that Eren not only saw Grisha's memories and knows him, he *lived* them. How Grisha felt about his own father, Eren, without much choice, feels the same. When you plant memories into a person, it isn't just knowledge, it's the whole experience, all the little emotions and thoughts that you inevitably feel as well. He isn't just his Grandfather, he was Eren's "father" as well to a degree.
I don't think anybody ever stated they hate him. To do so would be to see things only from the perspective of Grisha, which is understandable, but runs counter to the show's message to begin with. Also, it's very clear to me he feels immense and deep sorrow over fay's death, he just couldn't show genuine grief for fear it would be mistaken as anti-marleyan sentiments. Eren might have been wrong for wanting to destroy 600 Million people like that, but specifically Marley got what was coming to them. Never forget.
I think Eren asking Falco for help reminded him of his son and grandson (plus both of them look like Grisha and Zeke respactively) and is trying to correct his mistake of turning Blind eye towards his son being a restorationist This scene is too Awesome
Would’ve gave him a heart attack probably either way I doubt he’d betray eren he really regretted all of it and no one would believe his crazy ass anyways
MAJOR Spoiler alert dont read if you haven't read the manga I remember at this one panel when zeke wanted to show memories to eren. The panel shows grisha asking eren to tell him more about whats in the future, making it seem like grisha can't actually control the true power and only eren can. Eren only showed grisha the memories that he needed to show to move forward.
@@evelynneclipse2069 i’ll take u at face value lol, but i wonder why grisha wouldn’t be able to... eren kruger knew of mikasa and armin before grisha even lived on paradis
Eren has the spirit of Grisha, he always had, and Zeke has the spirit of his grandfather... Zeke and his grandfather are the kind of humanity who surrounds themselves to an easier way and live under humiliation... Grisha and Eren are the kind that make a difference in history... I know, Grisha wasn't perfect, but he was still brave enough to do something. I respect his will and I support Eren's choice till today... I don't read the manga, I follow the anime, but I know I won't change my mind
Eren's choice to not only murder millions upon millions of innocents just because he wanted to see what a flattened earth looks like, but to inflict the same untold misery upon untold numbers of people for the sake of an end to hostilities is a bizarre, hypocritical, and deeply, deeply psychopathic moral compass. To support that choice is vile, no matter how many times you try to justify global genocide because your feelings got hurt. Marley got what was coming to them, but not the rest of the world. And Eldia, in a way, got what was coming to them as well. Armin knows what's up. Peace won't be achieved unless we act upon that desire in a truly meaningful manner. There is no end to a cycle of violence bred by hate-filled propaganda and the machine of war, unless you destroy the cycle. Eren's choice was the fatalist choice, born of depravity and a sick desire for a child's vision of freedom, not a genuine concern for the good of humanity. Armin's choice is the only way out that isn't an immoral void of despair.
The sheer brilliance of Season 4 is truly amazing. Seasons 1 & 2 really fill us in what kinda world we are dealing with. Season 3 is also nice cause lots of questions we had are getting answered. Season 4 is straight up magical-realism shit we are dealing with. Things are almost too good to be true.
I like that he came out looking like a doctor, like Greisha's fate had never affected him and at the end you are left wondering if he was a patient all along.
Can we take a moment to appreciate how beautifully done this scene was. I rly enjoyed the build up to his breakdown. Unlike the manga, the impact of his scream leaves a haunting reminder on how cruel the world of aot rly is. Super excited for episode 5
Eren's first act when meeting his grandfather is to trigger a manic episode lmfao. That is probably the point where the viewer should have guessed he was the season's "villain"
At this point, the viewer doesn't yet know Eren's a time-travelling mutated parasite-god. For all we knew, this was eren truly trying to keep his cover, not knowing just how deep the trauma runs for his grandfather. Yes he knew grisha's memories, but from those, we could only infer that his granddad did not grieve faye's death and his son's restorationist activities in a visible manner. There was no way of knowing in general that the simple words "lifelong regrets" would trigger an episode. So no, I quite disagree. Pre-paths-episodes-viewers had much less reasons to think eren would become the type of villain he became.
He first refers to himself as “doctor Yeager” But after his breakdown the nurse and the man call him “mister yeager”. Was he lying to eren about being a doctor?
Also, the fact that the nurse says ”we took our eyes off him” suggests that he's being supervised, plus you wouldnt expect a doctor that's mentally unstable and has frequent outbursts to be running a facility based on helping people with PTSD... I won't what eren was thinking when he saw him, does he feel any sympathy? Any intention of helping? The way he looked at him was completely blank and emotionless. I can't wait to see what happens next 😁
Eren fought, killed, and was ready to die for Mikasa who he didn't have any special connection. His grandpa did nothing even after his own daughter got eaten alive by dogs and berated his son for feeling rage. Eren despises cowards and weaklings that simply stand there and let themselves be opressed.
Grandpa was driven insane by the dumb descisions he made in an unfair world, and Eren is like "I will keep moving forward no matter how dumb of a choice I have to make"

Sure Eldia tormented Marley.
@@italianodblaugrana3842 There are no heroes or villains in this story
Thus is the vicious cycle. Personally I find Marley more justified in the long run then Eldia. I can't help but shake that Eldians application of titans for so long and so severe has just been burned into the Psyche of Marley. Hence why they now just use the tactics of old because well... it is a pretty effective biological weapon. I ain't naive to call them the good guys but I think their measures while cruel have been borne out of mindset that rubbed off them during Eldias time as the top dogs.
@@italianodblaugrana3842 (Spoilers down in case you are an anime only)
Shingeki No Kyojin tries to constantly tell the people that there’s no heroes or villains in the story, just people that do what they gotta do to survive. Eren seeking for genocide is basically the fault of Marley, who refused to have peace with Paradis Eldians, then, just before Eren attacked, Willy declared war on Paradis island, they basically brought all of this by themselves.

I like how it made it seem like he was a doctor working in the facility but it turns out he was actually a patient himself!
SPOILERS for the manga:
eren not caring about what his grandfather said makes a lot of sense, it shows how he’s slowly losing compassion to those outside of the walls. not only that, but i think he’s very much being influenced by grisha’s memories of him. grisha absolutely despised his father because, to him, he represented what grisha hated the most; the loss of freedom and guilt. eren’s probably influenced by his father’s dislike of his own father, that plus the fact he already knows what the man did - nothing he said would have surprised him. eren sees him having regrets as the obvious, i think he might’ve showed more of a reaction had he not been regretful. eren sees a disconnect between himself and those who don’t sympathize for eldians, a disconnect which leads to him feeling like the rumbling is the only valid way to save his people.
Not only that, Mr Jaeger is the exact type of person that Eren hates most about not just people from the outside world but people in general. The kind of people that aren't free and glorify their oppressors and smile and thank them when they're treated worse than animals. As Eren said, "They are no better than cattle."

Marvel fans: tony meeting his dad in endgame was ironic
Anime fans: pathetic
if eren had looked more like his father than his mother his grandpa wouldve realized
Honestly this old man doesn’t deserve to be hated. He simply prioritized his own family’s safety over Eldia’s restoration.
I think Eren asking Falco for help reminded him of his son and grandson (plus both of them look like Grisha and Zeke respactively) and is trying to correct his mistake of turning Blind eye towards his son being a restorationist
This scene is too Awesome
He knew grisha was a restorationist ?

I remember at this one panel when zeke wanted to show memories to eren. Everybody a gangsta till *Youseebiggirl* starts playing in the basement
I love grisha! And i know eren does too but he has to move on
Eren's choice to not only murder millions upon millions of innocents just because he wanted to see what a flattened earth looks like, but to inflict the same untold misery upon untold numbers of people for the sake of an end to hostilities is a bizarre, hypocritical, and deeply, deeply psychopathic moral compass.
Eren has changed so much.
Dr Yeager: *"SCREAMING"*
Eren's mind: mmmh i wonder what Mikasa is going to cook for dinner.
What a wholesome family reunion..just what we expect from AOT
“I wonder who’s truly in the wrong, was it me or this world?…perhaps it was both…”
I felt this quote…
Attack on Titan is actually just a family drama with Titans somewhere in the background.
I really like the cut from the conversation to Grisha memories, props to you
Grisha: Brinwashed by dad
Zeke: Brainwashed by dad
Eren: *UNO Reverse Card*
Eren doesn't even care, damn he's just not the same anymore

@@samthong3305 that's scary, living in a constant delusion of being a doctor and helping people, all while reliving his past mistakes.
Yes
He was his also ill
Also, the fact that the nurse says ”we took our eyes off him” suggests that he's being supervised, plus you wouldnt expect a doctor that's mentally unstable and has frequent outbursts to be running a facility based on helping people with PTSD... I won't what eren was thinking when he saw him, does he feel any sympathy? Any intention of helping? The way he looked at him was completely blank and emotionless.
