But for that blood to kick in they have to go thru something traumatizing. Levi, it’s not shown the exact moment but we can assume it was when he had lost his mother in the undergrounds considering how skilled and ruthless he was when Kenny took him under his wing. For Mikasa it was losing her parents and seeing the person who rescued her on the brink of death.

He has always been a very violent and aggressive person. Armin and Mikasa didn't notice it beforehand because his aggression has always been directed at enemies, namely Titans. But now to protect his island from ANY future threat he has decided and he is trying to EXTERMINATE ALL LIFE ON EARTH beside Paradise, which includes people who weren't attacking the island. I'd say he has gone too far
To Mikasa, Eren represents home in a “life’s purpose” sense. It’s almost a psychological dependence born from childhood trauma and a supernatural ability that the Ackerman family possess. This is a different feeling than love, and it explains why Mikasa acts in such a protective way to Eren. It’s not a “I need you” in a typical sense, but a “I need you otherwise I will suffer a mental breakdown” sense. Tragic, but hey, it’s a cruel world in AoT.
And Eren, being a naturally aggressive person, is one of the damn hardest things to protect in the world. Sure makes things hard for Mikasa lol

But there are moments mikasa breaks free from her ackerman genes, sometimes she fights against it. I think she generally does love eren, this is proven in the scene when she thanked him for everything and was about to kiss him just before they were about to die. I think even if this whole murder thing never happened, mikasa still would have loved eren. Ackerman genes or not.
I think what Eren said in chapter 112 is random bullshit. Ackerman's were persecuted becoz they opposed the king's ideology of peace. If they were slaves then there would be only 1 or 2 defectors but the entire clan rejected the ideology. All he said about Mikasa wasn't related to ackerman blood in anyway, it was only related to Mikasa's lack of personality. Mikasa's doesn't have any goal or purpose except protecting Eren. If u compare it to Levi and Kenny they had their own goals. For Levi it was to end the nightmare of Titans becoz he was getting sick of living inside of the walls. For Kenny, it was to become a Titan. Even if their host was dead, their objective didn't changed. But for Mikasa she never taught of anything except of protecting Eren. Now If anyone saw the 'lost girls' ova, the Mikasa in that ova also didn't knew what she wants from her life. As she didn't had any friends she wanted to be with Eren which is somewhat similar to the canon Mikasa. So Eren said what he said in chapter 112, so that Mikasa would think of what she wants from her life. Even Eren knew that if he is going to die, then Mikasa will certainly do sepoku to end her life.

Eren Mikasa's relashionship is the most beautiful relashionship
Imagine the direction that her life would have gone towards if Eren had not saved her that day - I don't think Mikasa's character is boring at all. It is pretty realistic that she always looks out for him. Both loving a person and considering him/her as the only family is a very strong combination. People who say that Mikasa is clingy and cringe should probably check out some other anime where an entire female character's writing is based on admiring a male character's looks and going gaga over him every 10 seconds.
For me, the problem isn't Mikasa's attachment to Eren, but that her attachment to him is almost the only thing that defines her character because of her sheer lack of overall development in the later parts of the series. Her character just slowly faded into obscurity as far more interesting and relevant characters came into play. I'm also beginning to find it annoying how the Ackermans are unfairly strong with seemingly no balancing to their power compared to the other characters. Plus, I don't like how she betrayed Paradis and murdered so many patriots without even having a plan regarding what to do after they stop the rumbling. She just blindly doomed Paradis out of her selfish desires because she simply "didn't want Eren to hold the burden of genocide". I also don't like how she was forcibly paralleled to Ymir as a slave of love sort of thing, essentially pushing her to be a central plot point at the very end out of nowhere. The necro kiss was revolting, to say the least. And after all that talk about loving only Eren, she went on to marry Jean HAHAHA, and then, she went to visit Eren's grave with Jean and kids, because she still hasn't moved on! She's loving two men at the same time (one is dead, but still). Jean got done dirty. He deserved a better woman. Lastly, Floch and Eren were two of my favorite characters (well not anymore, now it's just Floch) because they fought for Paradis with patriotic conviction, especially Floch (unlike some other characters). Well guess what, Mikasa was the one responsible for killing not one, but BOTH Eren and Floch, as well as all those young eldian soldiers, brutally, I might add, especially with that unnecessary thunder spear stomach stab in the anime. She even did it with seemingly no shred of remorse, except for Eren because well you know why. She took so many eldian lives away from their families and DOOMED her country, AND she got away with it. I hate Mikasa.
P.S. I used to be a hardcore Eremika shipper, but over time I slowly began to lose interest in her because the story didn't really do much with her character. I also just grew irritated with her over how she was handled in the final arc. I think she was a pretty good character before, and that she had a lot of potential, but she just wasn't really written and developed that well after a certain point in the series.

Mikasa and Eren's backstories are so beautifully written. I loved the part where it just shows how Eren was the reason Mikasa underwent a spiritual metamorphosis to gain thorough control of herself, and how she later on comes to love Eren so much for it that she can only lose control when Eren isn't there/when she knows something bad happened to him.
I love it. I keep watching this scene over and over again to remember that, besides all of my others ships, I really love Eremika because their background together is just so well written.

It's surprising how some people manage to miss Eren's motiviation and lack of remorse. It's not that he wanted revenge or that he wanted to save Mikasa that drove him to do that. To Eren's young naive mind, he couldn't rationalize how humans could be capable of such cruelty. As a result, instead of being able to accept humans as evil, he accepted that they weren't human. Both at the start and at the end you can see his thought process. Being told there were wolves out there, Eren agreed with his sentiment while killing him, in his mind. Those men were the wolves he was being warned of. He didn't hesitate because there's nothing wrong with killing dangerous beasts. And that's the nature of this world, Kill or be Killed. Mikasa's flashbacks share this very sentiment. While she didn't refer to them as animals or the like, her reaction was very similar of an instinctual level. Good and evil do not apply here, this is just another cycle. That cruelty of nature, you have to accept that cruelty or you may never defend yourself.
Eren explaining to his father didn't seem to imply Eren making up an excuse, he genuinely believed those were dangerous animals and in his own words, they only looked human.
When you stop seeing someone else, or a group of others as humans, your justification becomes that of it's not murder, because they aren't people. This can be a double edged blade. It can give you the strength you need to defend yourself, but it also opens the door for yourself to become just as cruel as the animals you see them as. Good and Evil rarely have objective standpoints. It all relies on social norms and morals. They're not set in stone, they are perspectives.
