Lumios I can kinda agree I don't think the games are too much with a Best but gamers club unlock membership 10% off new games for 2 year and great sales on games
$90 for a Pro controller in Australia. That's $20 less than a PS5 controller, which for the latest console that you can't find for under $1000 is understandable.
Somewhat Unpopular opinion: The games industry (and gamers in general) are too focussed on multiplayer. (couch co-op being an exception, as developers seem to forget that exists)
The players aren't obsessed with multiplayer, publishers are because it is much harder to continually monetize a single player game without there being massive outcry.
For some reason people really seem to prefer controllers that make extremely loud clicking noises. I know websites where you can order custom made controllers, they also let you choose how loud the button clicking should be, however you can't pick something quieter than the original - just louder.
@@RavynMad121 Even keyboards I prefer to be as quiet as possible. A mouse is something that should make clicks though. There are mouses without button sounds and I have one where the scrolling wheel makes no sound. That is just weird.
@@Grey_Warden_Invasion I like mouse wheels that are very quiet, but I need touch feedback. Some wheels are ribbed and you feel a mini-stop after every unit of movement, and others are smooth like butter and I hate the latter.
I don’t get how a remotely difficult game is the Dark Souls of genre. It’s like oh Danganronpa is a bit hard. It’s the Dark Souls of visual novels! That’s like saying Konosuba or Sword Art Online is the Fullmetal Alchemist; Brotherhood of isekai anime
Cracker Jack03 I think when people say that they mean it’s the hardest of its genre. Been playing games like cuphead and Megaman (and coincidentally danganronpa recently) and started playing dark souls a few days ago. Yeah it’s tough but it’s not impossible. It’s just much harder than any game with similar combat like BOTW or Assasins creed (sort of) the people who say dark souls of [genre] referring to games they claim are impossible are people who have never played dark souls.
Exclusives aren't a problem, I personally think they are the thing keeping the market competitive. An exclusive "should" be showing off what the console can do and pushing it the very limit.
@Ross Sutton I don't mean economically, but in quality. There's nothing that comes close to it in any current console, the closest thing is Dark Souls 3. PS4 has the best exclusives so far and as far as exclusives go, Bloodborne kicks all of them off a cliff.
Hard isn't good if it's the controls/bad level design/confusing artstyle making it that way. (Superman 64 isn't a good game because you can't fly for shit) If the gameplay makes it hard intentionally, it's good.
Not to mention if things are too easy, shit just gets BORING. You don't need Dark Souls/Castlevania 3 Dracula's Curse hard, but even games like Mario Odyssey have their moments where they make you WORK for that victory- because if something can be acquired easily, it won't feel like an accomplishment, at least not for most.
imo games should never be hard unless you choose for it to be, games should always have an option where it's layed back and easy just for the story, the hard modes should be hard though, games like Mafia 3 are easy on the hardest mode, I just play games for fun and hate getting stuck, I want to get through it and experience the whole game I payed for, which is why I might not ever played a Dark Souls or Bloodborne style game. Most games these days do difficulty in an artificial way, they just spam enemies at you or make enemies kill you in a couple of hits instead of making the ai smarter, difficulty should always come down to the ai in games like Ghost Recon Wildlands, Wildlands is bs sometimes because it just spams enemies that kill you in 2 hits but the ai are dumb on all difficulties, then you have realistic on Siege's Terrorist Hunt, they aim right for your head before you turn the corners and sometimes even shoot through the walls when you cant see them and haven't given any possible way of them knowing you are there, they have no recoil to every shot will hit you, they are bullet sponges, but they aren't smart at all apart from that, they stand still or walk passed you and get fooled easily.
Meep thats why I like the option of playing hard mode Fallout 4: played one normal playthrough. Switched to survival (with the added challenge of making a sort of roleplay character) and I'm getting my ass kicked sometimes when I forget to take a refreshing beverage because stimpaks are worthless asides from limb damage.
I think everyone can agree with you on the Nintendo Switch's/its accessories' prices. Who would honestly think "No, it deserves to be overly expensive"
I really want it to be cheaper maybe base console at $250. I think it would increase sales. Then again, I’m not an economist. I just really want to get the console.
It really pissed me off when I bought my Switch only to immediately realize that the HDMI cable that comes with it isn't long enough to reach my TV. Then I realized that the joycons were designed with a 10 month old's hands in mind and had to buy a Pro Controller just to play Odyssey and Breath of Wild.
I don't think the base price of the system is THAT bad, but the issue for me was more the fact that the price only really gets you in the door. To really make the most of a Switch you end up spending hundreds of pounds more on all the accessories that you need to play it in ways you want to. I probably spent more on accessories and games than I did on the system itself, which isn't that great considering I got much more stuff with a PS4 Pro for cheaper.
So in regard to the super metroid section of this video 1. Yes, the crouching/morph balling can be finnicky. I can agree with you there 2. Caddy you know theres a seperate button for aiming diagonally down right? Im not sure i understand the issue of not being able to aim freely from a standstill with that said. 3. I will agree that i dont enjoy the default button layout, but thats also why it allows you to customize it to your liking. I certainly dont use the default settings myself. 4. I think ive gotten used to the jump arc, but i can also understand why it would be annoying to handle 5. Not related to SM but i love your vids including this one keep doing what youre doing bro
Think that's most people's opinion. And adding to yours, online play is overrated imho because not only does it get boring but also how long can you play a game just to get better at it but there'll always be someone else that has vastly superior practice than yours and annihilates you. Annoys me to the fucking core when all I want to do is play a game for a few hours to relax while not actively pissing my pants trying to keep up with teammates that spend basically all their waking hours gitting gud at the game and ruin it for players who simply do not have the time to be good at it. I swear the amount of times people have been getting pissed at people trying to have just a fun game and play absolutely decently and in a good pace while not hampering any sort of progress for other players is staggering and can die a gruesome death. Yeah I know I sound like a filthy casual but fuck it I don't care.
When online multiplayer was introduced it was awesome because now you had the choice to play online with your friends when you can't meet up. Now when you do meet up you can't actually play half the games you usually play together.
JSJ23 I think alot of people including myself agree on that. and is disappointing a that games nowdays are lacking that splitscreen screen fun that alot of classic had back. liked it when games like shovel knight and cuphead did that 2 local play
Unpopular opinion: Super Paper Mario is a masterpiece with a great story, hilarious dialogue, and fantastic gameplay that garnered unnecessary hate only because it was different than its predecessors.
SPM is a great game, and even ignoring the story it's a fun puzzle-platformer with a unique artstyle. I just wish there was more variety to the battle system. I mean if they're gonna take the traditional "jumping on enemies" why don't we have the Fire Flower, power ups, Mario 2-style turnip throwing, various hammer maneuvers, or other classic Mario options? I would honestly love to see a sequel implement these ideas.
It's the only Paper Mario game I've played (I know, I really should play the N64 and GC ones too), but it was an amazing game. I really wish Nintendo made a Super Paper Mario 2, I'd buy that without thinking twice about it.
Dang, yer good at explaining why you feel the way you feel about these things, without falling into the trap of mistaking your subjective feelings with objective fact. GG Caddy.
I used to watch this channel called "What Culture Gaming" and I just got over them constantly bitching about Crash N Sane trilogy. I loved the remaster and still go back and play it every now and then.
I loved Outlast 1 and i absolutely hated outlast 2. My main gripe about Outlast 2 was that the first game was maybe 60% exploration and 40% stressful encounters, Outlast 2 was 15% exploration and 85% stressful encounters......actually, that's not right, 85% running down a linear path with random dead ends and hopefully you picked the right direction because hiding is useless. That being said, CTR was fucking dope and i hope they remake it.
I think it's worth mentioning that the original Luigi's Mansion was suppose to have 3D glasses support that let's you play the game in 3D, and while it had a working prototype, never became a reality because the 3D wouldn't work on all T.V.'s, so they got rid of that feature. I see the port of the game being on the 3DS more as "What if Luigi's Mansion was in 3D like it was suppose to?" rather than "What if we put it on the 3DS?".
I really like Mario Party DS! I remember loving it as a kid, and I think even today it holds up well as a really solid entry in the series. Now granted, I haven't played anything pre-MPDS so I can't judge for the super beloved GC ones, but in my opinion Mario Party DS is a very solid game!
No offense caddy but i think getting scared in horror games is subjective. I agree it wasn't hard but the fact that so many people had the same problem but you didn't doesn't mean they're non existance to be fair. I hope that's not too rude.
ExeSkelter me: uh? Do people really have opinions at all on such shit? I dont even have one on luigi's mansion. Its like having an opinion on a random 25 yo crusted smelless shit in the middle of a desert where nobody went to in more than 300years thats 800kilometers away from me. So... Uh?
@@kato093 No, I'm serious, there are many, many people who grew up with the GameCube original and adore the serious. Did you just not see all the hype when LM3 was announced? It's fine that you don't care, I'm not big on it myself, but how can you not acknowledge it's fandom? I would call it cult classic, but I think it's too popular for that. And most people consider the original better than the sequel.

@@Ms.kitsune42 Why though? It's missing so many amazing exclusives, the price to make one on a next generation level is outrageous, not everyone knows how to build one, Valve (the main store on PC) are extremely greedy and hackers plague pretty much every game over a year old. Don't get me wrong, I own a PC and use it more than my PlayStation 4, but I feel as if it has too many issues to be considered the main gaming platform.
@@ytcorporate9237 well as counter arguments. 1 emulation makes it so that you can play plenty of exclusives like ratchet and clank along with demon souls. 2 not all PCs are thousands of dollars and you can get a solid one for about 800 pounds ( fairly expensive but you can use it for more than just gaming). 3 Valves Steam is one one of the best platforms to get games on (also how are they greedy? Aside from artifact they seem fine). And 4 that's an issue with the games not the pc.
What I mean is that they get a lot of flak for good and alleged reasons but they don't get enough praise for their actually good games. Sometimes, I feel it's just a trend to hate on Ubisoft for no reason.
Fairly unpopular in the RUclips circles but AC: Origins, Watch Dogs 2 and Far Cry 5 are proof that Ubisoft is starting to get better, no matter how many times people regurgitate the same tired arguments from RUclips Game Intellectuals.
Yeah, I don't get why people compare Ubisoft to EA/Activision-Blizzard. Sure, they include microtransactions and their games can be stale and unfinished but: in-game purchases are entirely optional and don't take away from the experience, they are actually listening to people and improving the quality and making necessary changes to their games (softrebooting Assasins Creed, making Far Cry fresh again), create fun and creative games like the new Rayman, Mario Vs Rabbits, Grow Home; and I can't recall them putting g̶a̶m̶b̶l̶i̶n̶g̶ lootboxes.
As someone who knows the technical behind the scenes of many games, a single console would be a nightmare for anyone trying to do anything interesting. You'd end up with a bunch of developers wanting to iterate on the console to give it better hardware and features and the rest would want to leave it as is because that's safe and easy. Then all the one's who don't think the current console could suit their game's design would have different opinions on what changes should be made. Then eventually someone would stop developing for the shared console, make their own, market an amazing unique experience, then we'd end up right back where we are.
I guess I’ve got some, so I’ll go ahead. The controls of Mario 64 on DS are not as bad as people say. Sure, it’s not analogue, but it’s still pretty good for a launch title DS game. Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 2’a career mode is kind of absolutely terrible. Speaking of, the Dreamcast versions of the two Tony Hawk games they got are far superior to the PS1 versions. There’s basically no reason to own the PS1 versions if you have the Dreamcast versions, unless you’re a collector. I do not at all see why so many people hate on the 3D Sonic games, sure they’re not like the best 3D games of all time, but I honestly think Sonic Adventure has aged better than other 3D platformers of the time. Metal Gear Solid Twin Snakes is way better than the original version. In fact, I have no idea why so many people dislike it. The first person mode really does make it so much better. The original Xbox’s duke controller wasn’t that bad. Sure it was big, but it still functioned as a controller. The DualShock controllers (other than 4, I haven’t used 4 yet) aren’t really that good.
Mostly agree far as the ones relevant to me, but the last one I disagree. Somewhat. I don't really like 3 that much, but I remember 2 being a joy to hold in my hands. Granted I was 12-17 at the time. Also, not a DualShock but one of the best controllers ever made is the officially licensed Logitech wireless controller for PS2. Comfortable, easy to sync, stupid long battery life on two AA, AND rumble?! Take that, Wavebird!
1. SM64DS was meant to show off the thumb strap as a touch method. 2. How? 3. Agreed, except the graphical alterations to squeeze in the Treyarch logo and, for 2, replacing Private Carrera with Trixie. 4. For reasons independent of 3D itself: the futzing about with series-inappropriate playstyles, the level designs, repurposing Sonic's friends in the story as well as the gameplay, the tone going for TOTAL self-awareness yet still expecting to be taken COMPLETELY seriously as opposed to the happy medium of the pre-Adventure 2 games, the character redesigns, the voices (which I find a stupid retro-supremacist argument), etc. Since they all came ALONGSIDE 3D, people lump 3D in with them as a problem.
“i ACTUALLY don’t like sonic but i like mania. crazy right??” whoah there caddy, save those unheard opinions to yourself before you accidentally blow someone’s mind all over the place!
FiZzLE 030 seriously, at least say something actually crazy, like, I don’t know, Mega Man 2 is the worst Mega Man game, or Call of Duty is better than CS GO. There are ways to make these lists work.
Unpopular opinion: I love super paper Mario because it combines elements from RPG’s, 2D Platformers and 3D platformers along with a cute story and world design. I understand that it did greatly drift from its original material but I wouldn’t have been so interested in RPG’s if it weren’t for this little gem on the Wii. This was a game that brought me into the vast world of Mario RPG’s and I’m glad this was one of the first games I ever played.
Hooded Man it does have some RPG elements in the game, it doesn’t need turn based combat to be an RPG (that’s just called a strategy RPG I think?) all it really needs is a leveling up system and other ways to continuously increase your power (and SPM has both with the leveling up and collecting cards to boost your attack on certain enemies)
KidSnivy96 I wasn’t too sure about how people felt about SPM mainly because the game had a small phase where the fandom was considered terrible and that’s why people avoided the game, but that seems to have faded. I wasn’t a part of it myself but I could see why it would deter people from wanting to play it.
With the Elite controller, you can turn down the brightness of the Xbox light on your controller. Just wish the original controllers had that option as well...
Just one comment about the Exclusives bit: Mutual Exclusives are a problem. Example, when a game is released on multiple systems, but the PS4 has this extra character, the X Box has that extra character, PC has another extra character. You don't get them all unless you both buy and fully complete all three versions of the game. That sucks. I say, make one of these extras a freebie on each system, but make the others available as purchasable DLC.
@@Kristian-jk2ww and that would be normal. The fact that corporations make incentives to force you to buy the same exact product multiple times to get the full experience is beyond dodgy, it's scammy marketing.
Kasumi Ryona It doesn’t force you to buy anymore than one, if you only want one of the three exclusive characters, while yes it’s dogdy, it’s business.
I like the switch... but my main problem is 1) Battery life, as I mostly play it on the go. 2) Price of Nintendo games... Zelda is $45-50 or so... SECONDHAND! It's a 1 year old game used, and to that price. 3) Still no Virtual Console.
The game teaches the mechanic really poorly, so it takes a bit to get it right. Then it's fine, until some of the really long songs in the late game. Those are rough. Definitely not great. Really the only downside of the game for me.
Spud I bought my switch for $475 (ish) and MK8D was about $80, that’s about $550 and if you get second hand controllers (which is what I did because I’m a poor kiddo) which was only about $70-$80 for two so that’s about $630 Long story short, 2nd hand controllers work just as well and they’re cheaper. (All my prices were AUD)
Or a gamepad, which can cost the price of a single joycon. (A joycon's charge can last 12 to 16 hours, I think.) EBGames currently has a sale on both. I got my Switch for $AU 380. I don't have MK8, but it's $70 at Big W. That's about $500. Not something to laugh at, but... well, a little bit of smart shopping can help.
Where did you get those prices?! Switch + Game + joycons is 450€ AT MOST. What happened in Britain? Did they do like in Europe where 300$ became 300€ for a Switch even when the conversion would make it around 240€ but set it at 300 pounds?
Unpopular Opinion I don't mind Goku being in Smash (plus no offense am I the only one who finds Smash community salty behavior with Goku absolutely disgusting) P.S By the way this only a fraction of the unpopular opinions I have with Smash
I can see where you're coming from on the Switch's price, but I still think the price is perfect for what it is. It's a solid 100-200 dollars less than the competition still, and yes, it is not as powerful, but if you're buying the Switch as a means to replace a Xbone or PS4 then you're not buying it for the right reason. It's really meant to be its own experience. The reason the Joycons and Pro Controller are so expensive is sadly because of the HD rumble, believe it or not. The HD rumble has done some absolutely incredible things- especially in the new Kirby game- but I agree that maybe there should be an option for a controller without the HD rumble somehow. What I CAN agree with you on, however, is the price of the ports. Nintendo never, EVER discounts their games unless they get lucky enough to become a Nintendo Select, and that probably won't happen for a good while for the Switch. In some cases it's kinda okay- Mario Kart's price is a bit silly, but considering it's already based on a full game with two DLC packs and new content and modes on top of that, I give it a bit of slack- but the upcoming DKC Tropical Freeze game is 10 dollars more than the ORIGINAL FUCKING GAME, which by the way, is also a Nintendo Select now, so it's only 20 dollars instead of the original 50.. And that's for what, a new easy mode with a new broken character? Tropical Freeze is one of the finest platformers I've ever played, but really, the actual hell? But yeah. I think the Switch itself is still just the right price it needs to be.
the only thing i have to say about the controller stuff can we look at the price of ps4 controllers 60 why does that get a pass and no alternatives to it either i miss the hori controllers that were good and cheap.
It gets really pricey if you get lots of accessories, but it's not like you're forced to get them. A screen protector and maybe a Pro controller arguably are the only required ones but stuff like a batter charging grid or a secondary dock are really just for convenience sake, nothing you should lose any sleep over.
I dont want to really buy the switch even tho alot of people purchased it,becuase it will probably be dead in a year if Nintendo will not release at least 10 official great games,The only official good game rn are Zelda Breath of the wild and Super Mario Odyssy.
As someone who has gown up with Crash Bandicoot since them and Spyro were my first games I ever played, I totally agree with Caddy and I didn't have as much of a problem with the controls as everyone else did.
shoe bakka I don't mind the changed controls. I just hate how the hitbox shapes for small platforms was changed from rectangular to pill shaped. I fell off platforms more times than I should, and the hitbox in general can feel pretty fucked at times. I've seen some insane moments of players walking on nitro boxes without blowing up (and no, I'm noy talking about the staircase of nitro boxes) and a moment where someone was pushed against a nitro box, it blew up, and Crash took no damage. No Ooka Ooka mask or anything
I think that rather than a unpopular opinion, the whole verdict on the N sane trilogy is mixed. It's just we only see the negative opinion through the more popular youtube channels and gaming websites.
I can agree there. Honestly I don't mind what people say, as long as they ain't dicks about it. If people have problems with a game like N sane trilogy I have no problems with that. But if they tell someone they are wrong for not agreeing then I have a problem, but that's a totally different problem altogether.
An unpopular gaming opinion from me, I actually really enjoy the Riddler challenges in the Arkham series, especially in Arkham City. They are fun and challenging, you have to solve puzzles as Batman and Catwoman. Riddler himself is very entertaining to listen to, he is very funny and alot of people complain that he is annoying. No shit Sherlock that is his thing, he is meant to mock you to get you to prove him wrong. He is supposed to think that he is better than anyone else, it is part of personality and his charm.
To me, the worst problem on PS1 was lack of Z-coord and widescreen. When you emulate on higher resolution, the polygons jump around and twitch, it's very uncomfortable. That's the Z. Newer ePSXe kinda fixed that but it took MANY years of games looking warped and character models deforming every time unit. Textures were fixable with filters.
Unpopular Opinion: I think that Shadow the Hedgehog is a good game. I mean, yes, it can be unfair at times, and it is a huge undertaking to 100% complete it, but it has great music, visuals, and level design.
Sadly, no other Sonic character outside of Sonic himself-not even (ESPECIALLY not?) Tails-has ever gotten a similar level of love. In fact, Sonic Team nowadays seems to shamelessly DELIGHT in abusing them, basically treating them as mistakes. Forces drives that impression home with, well, crippling force.

@@dragonicbladex7574 Tell that to Nintendo. That's a system that has basically nothing but exclusives, and its doing pretty ell right now. Also, It helps me decide which system to buy. I can only afford one, so they let see why I would want one over the other.
@@LizardClone2 If you can only afford one you should only have to pick based on the actual merits of the system, and well, the switch exclusives are exclusives for a reason, you couldn't really port those games, they need the switch.

I grew up with both but enjoyed Spyro more. I mean I remember having more Spyro games that Crash games. And another unpopular opinion, Crash Tag Team Racing is my favourite Crash game.
I actually agree with the Super Metroid controls. The game is amazing, but feel like the controls are a little too restricted. I get that you’re a bounty hunter with armor on a claustrophobic planet, but I can’t count how many times I’ve died just from aiming a certain direction or jumping a little too far.
I don't consider it better, I consider it kind of an updated Melee. I play both equally often. I stopped playing Sm4sh only because I can't mod my game anymore
Even tough I liked the game, I can't see why people love it so much. I mean, yeah, the story is ok, characters are ok, animation is, again, ok. It's ok at best. But honestly, it hasn't done anything to earn the masterpiece status
It has potential, but it holds itself back. None of your choices really have much weight and you don't really have any pressure to make the right choice. The art style is okay, I just wish they committed to stylizing it more. The writing is atrocious and it is one of the major detriments to the gameplay, being a story based game. If you want me to care about making good decisions and saving characters, make them likable? They don't have to be good people, but they should at least feel like people and not tropes. I wouldn't have as much of a problem with the overuse of dumb, outdated slang of it was self aware or even set in an accurate time period (no one has said 'hella' unironically since the 90s, and even then it was tired) . They had an interesting story to tell, but it was executed more like an after school special than a serious narrative. I love narrative driven games, and Life is Strange gives the vibe of reading a YA novel, but one that's written by a man in his fifties that hasn't had interaction with a teen since his kids graduated from college.
I think it's absolutely terrible lol For a game that is entirely reliant on it's story and characters, it has garbage characters, dialogue, and plot. It's not worth it

I've never understood how Yooka-Laylee received so much hate, while A Hat in Time was universally loved. They both have similar issues, and in the case of the camera, the exact same problem. So why does A Hat in Time get a pass while Yooka-Laylee gets crucified? In fact, I end up being more frustrated with A Hat in Time, because the controls are just too floaty and imprecise for the type of platforming they want you to do. This leads to way too much frustration later in the game that could have been easily avoided.
I don't understand why Battle Royale games like PUBG and Fortnite are popular. What do you get for winning after surviving battle royale with 99 other players, a majority of which are strangers? YEEEES! I seriously don't understand why people prefer to watch anime subbed (Though I don't watch it enough to have a real opinion on this) I want to watch what's fucking happening on screen, NOT READ THE GODDAMN SUBTITLES THE WHOLE TIME!
If you can't be bothered to read subtitles, than are you even watching any of the action? And if you're already looked at the screen, you should be able to glance down and read a sentence every few seconds. Or are people just that slow at reading? Personally, I'd be watching with subs anyways (even for English shows), just to be sure I catch everything that was said, because it's easier to read than it is to listen. And that's not to mention the bad localizations and grand liberties taken with some dubs...
I think that the SEGA Genesis has a more compelling library than the SNES does. That's not to say that I don't love the SNES, because I do. But the games on the Genesis are just second to none in my opinion and is my favourite console ever made for a reason. Because the games for it are fucking boss. MUSHA The Thunder Force Games Gunstar Heroes Rocket Knight Adventures Outrun After Burner II Panorama Cotton Streets of Rage 2 Dynamite Headdy Decap Attack Ristar Castlevania: Bloodlines So many great games that it gives me a bloody aneurysm.
I'm not that big into RPGs. I have no patience at all, lmao. But the Phantasy Star games (IV in particular) are kinda interesting to me, so maybe I'll get more into them.
I have to agree. I grew up playing both systems, but the Genesis always had my attention more often due to the games. Golden Axe, Sonic, Buck Rogers: Countdown to Doomsday, After Burner II, the better Mortal Kombat ports, Streets of Rage, Decap Attack, the first three Road Rash games, faster-running sports titles, Ecco the Dolphin and it’s sequel... there are so many more reasons to have a Genesis/Mega Drive over a SNES. Not to say I hate the SNES, because I don’t.

I personally thought it was the edgiest story ever written, and the rewind mechanic just got so tedious and uninteresting since you could rewind if you don't like the result, just like you said. I only played the first episode, and I watched my roommate play a fair bit more of it, but I just did not like it one bit.
Donacdum If you hated the OPTION to rewind time when you didn’t like the consequences/reaction of a choice, Why did you just NOT use the OPTION to rewind?
My unpopular opinions: -I feel that Super Mario Sunshine is better than Mario 64 -Twilight Princess is my favorite 3D Zelda (Favorite overall is A Link to the Past) -While Xenoblade Chronicles is my favorite RPG, its Operation Rainfall sibling The Last Story had my favorite story of the 3 games -Saint's Row II is more fun than most GTA games up to 5 -Final Fantasy X is not as bad as people think it is -Harry Potter Quidditch World Cup was a very good game, and deserves a follow up -Mario Party 4 was the best of the Classic Mario Party games -I preferred Sonic Adventure 1 to Adventure 2 -Prisoner of Azkaban was my favorite Harry Potter adventure game -I preferred Super Smash Bros Brawl over Melee
Yeah, I actually think Super Metroid's controls are vastly inferior to Zero Mission's and the Metroid Prime games. The physics were EXTREMELY floaty, too, which turns me off every time.
Having played Metroid Fusion before Super, I also agree. The physics are just clunky, for lack of a better word. Its hard to move as precisely as any platforming requires.
I think the issue here with this argument is that the devs knew that movement was clunky, and so to combat this you have a vast room for error due to your high health pool.
Seems most people who played later sidescroller-metroids before playing Super Metroid, me included, feels this way. It's a fantastic game and given the impact it had at the time it launched, I get why so many holds it in such high regard. At the same time tho, if I were to rank the Metroid-games based on my personal feelings, Super Metroid would be pretty low on the list, mostly because of the controls. It's the worst of the good ones at least x)
I love Super Metroid. But I agree that the controls have not age pretty well. Also, you can customize your controls on which buttons you wanted to be on for something more comfortable. But the way you moved, attack & jump can be disoriented. Not the worst. But far from perfect and I do think Fusion & especially Zero Mission made the controls better.
Here's my unpopular opinion: Metroid Prime Federation Force was a good game that did not deserve 95% of the complaints and hate that it received. The Fed Force petition was and still is an embarrassment and we might never get a Metroid spin off for a long time. I agree with the horizontal vs vertical jumping stuff for Super Metroid's controls. I'd say the crouching and Morph Ball clunkyness was mostly remedied with Samus Returns auto morph feature by tapping the map. The clunkyness isn't something you can't entirely get rid of, that's just how 2D Metroid controls for the most part. Also, having to spam select to activate Super Missiles and the like was annoying.
yeah, super metroid is pretty overrated. It's still a good game, but the gba and prime games have much better controls and much more intuitive level designs.
Yooka-Laylee did not live up to expectations but that doesn't make it a bad game. its far from it actually with only the mine-cart stuff being technically speaking actually bad. i sincerely don't get why people reacted to it as if it was another mighty No. 9. that was the most blatantly incorrect comparison i've ever seen.
Luigi’s Mansion is one of my favourite games of all time, I’m a bit skeptical of the remake of it for 3DS because I have yet to play it but I’m so glad that it is being given the love and attention it deserves
I don't think anyone really has a problem with the content of 64 DS, I mostly see complaints about the controls. If the same game was released with a better control scheme it would be hailed as the definitive version. I personally like the DS version more as well.
Same oh my I loved those games when I was 7 and now replaying them with more experience I understand the frustration but also they're not bad games at all
I with you about console exclusivity, Caddy. It's something that needs to exist. Also, That Bayonetta thing bothers me so damn much. People constantly bitching that 2 is not on PC or their system of choice. Some people going as far as to say it would have been better if they didn't make 2 at all, rather than have it on the Wii U (and now Switch). Seriously, it would be better if the game never existed just because it's not on your system?!? Go fuck right off with that shit...
It's great that Bayonetta 2 exists. But that's not a case for exclusivity. It's just an aspect of Nintendo funding it. It didn't HAVE to be exclusive to exist.
Oh and one last thing. I think most people prefer the original luigis mansion. When you brought it up I thought you were gunna say you like that it's a 3ds game and not coming to the switch.
Do you not know that you can aim diagonally up and down with the shoulder buttons in Super Metroid? Because you can, and it removes that issue of having to move in order to aim down.
Browncoats85 not really that unpopular of an opinion. Wii U is generally considered to be a great system, but was fundamentally botched by Nintendo. Poor naming which led to confusing marketing, a lack of games, less powerful hardware and being confusing to develop for meant devs struggled to put any new games on the system, etc.
Well I say putting the market for games in your argument on why a console is better is valid. For example, I don't care how powerful the Xbox is, I can't play Kingdom Hearts or The Last of Us on it. So I go for the PS4.
@@rainingtacos7529 exactly. This is what Sega dealt with, more powerful than Nintendo but not the same powerful dev support, and they got left in the dust.
@@rainingtacos7529 but Xbox is going to play kingdom hearts though. Also, I don't have a problem with exclusive games, just as long as it makes sense and it's not aggressive. I'm looking at you, final fantasy 7 remake. You have NO reason to be exclusive!
@@balfanghellfire Which is exactly why I like the Playstation better. There are more exclusive games on it. Yes Kingdom Hearts may be on Xbox now, but back then, it was only on Playstation. Last of Us, Final Fantasy, Uncharted, God of War, and many more are games you can ONLY get on the Playstation. However, this doesn't mean the Xbox is a bad console on any level whatsoever. I also play Fallout, Halo, Call of Duty, and many other games on it. It may not be exclusive content, except for Halo, but I still play it on that console.
@@rainingtacos7529 final fantasy hasn't been exclusive since 13. I have final fantasy 15 royal on game pass and final fantasy 12 zodiac age on Xbox one with more final fantasy titles heading to Xbox game pass. As for PlayStation exclusive titles that I would like to play. Only two come to mind: persona and horizon zero Dawn. None of the other exclusive titles interested me like Halo, gears of war and rare replay that despite the overwhelming number of exclusive titles on PlayStation, the number of Xbox exclusive that interest me still outnumbers it. I do play on my brother's PlayStation sometimes as we agreed that he'd primarily be PlayStation and I'd primarily be Xbox.
I dont think the Luigis Mansion opinion is unpopular. Seems to be the general agreement among my circles
Definitely my favorite, but dark moon was fucking sweet too.
It definitely is. LM1 is a treasure!
TheLonelyGoomba That's the exact thing that went through my mind when I saw that.
Hash Slinging Slasher
TheLonelyGoomba I actually thought people liking Luigi's Mansion 2 was slightly unpopular
I feel the price of the Nintendo Switch itself is fine BUT the accessories are ridiculously over priced.
Lumios this is so true
Lumios I can kinda agree I don't think the games are too much with a Best but gamers club unlock membership 10% off new games for 2 year and great sales on games
You're right, just a single joy con is $45, and most of the Wii U ports are 60$. That's radiculus.
I feel like extra Joycons shouldn't be more than $30 a set because of how flimsy they are. Also, the pro controller should only be $40 max.
I definitely didn't feel too bad about the console price, but I couldn't bring myself to buy a second set of joycons or the proper pro controller
Caddy then-This is the most expensive f^*%ng headache I’ve ever had!
Caddy after trying to build a PC-... oh...
I AGREE WITH YOU ON THE SWITCH ACCESSORIES BEING OVERPRICED. I feel like my giving a liver away when I just lock at the prices, MY GOD!!!
I agree too, but a simple Chromebook charger works on my switch.
Rainingtacos7 HoW iS tHiS bLaCk MaGiC pOsSiBle?!?!?!?
IKR! Why are a pair of joy cons worth the same as a video game this is ridiculous.
$90 for a Pro controller in Australia. That's $20 less than a PS5 controller, which for the latest console that you can't find for under $1000 is understandable.
@@johnrhoads4712 they have A LOT of stuff jam packed into them, would love to see an official pair that doesn’t have nfc readers and stuff like that.
Somewhat Unpopular opinion: The games industry (and gamers in general) are too focussed on multiplayer. (couch co-op being an exception, as developers seem to forget that exists)
I agree with you fully - there's nothing wrong with MMOs, but *man* do they oversaturate the market.
I fully agree with you
That's an unpopular opinion?
The players aren't obsessed with multiplayer, publishers are because it is much harder to continually monetize a single player game without there being massive outcry.
Just look at fallen order. It turned put to be a great single player starwara game.
Unpopular opinion: The Wii U is an amazing system. The developers never used the potential of the console. :/
trueeeeee
Agreed, I am honestly still playing at least once a week it even with the Switch
I don't think people disagree with that
The Vita was also good, PlayStations poor marketing killed it in the west
It costed a shit ton to develop for and nobody bought it, what do you expect?
For some reason people really seem to prefer controllers that make extremely loud clicking noises. I know websites where you can order custom made controllers, they also let you choose how loud the button clicking should be, however you can't pick something quieter than the original - just louder.
I understand having a keyboard with a satisfying click to the keys, but noisy controllers doesn't sound very pleasant at all to me.
It's usually to make sure it's working properly
This is probably not unpopular - but everyone should stop comparing games to Dark Souls. It makes no sense.
Sams 5th account still stupid
Cracker Jack03 no I definitely agree. It’s way overused and there are much more difficult games to compare to.
Your telling me since Crash Bandicoot is hard it’s not like Dark Souls?????
Exclusives aren't a problem, I personally think they are the thing keeping the market competitive. An exclusive "should" be showing off what the console can do and pushing it the very limit.
Choatemister but the problem is that sometimes they lead to just pretty light shows with shallow gameplay like the order 18 whatever
Luckily Bloodborne came to save ps4 from The Order and make the system win this current console war.
@Ross Sutton I don't mean economically, but in quality. There's nothing that comes close to it in any current console, the closest thing is Dark Souls 3. PS4 has the best exclusives so far and as far as exclusives go, Bloodborne kicks all of them off a cliff.
@@Akatsukileader9 Are you sure Bloodborne is the best? Its got some great competition
Choatemister why do U look at exclusives this way? They should just be that games not but glorified tech demos
Unpopular opinion:
Hard =/= good. I hate when gamers complain games are too easy. Some people play games for fun, not to prove something to anyone.
Meep thats why I like the option of playing hard mode
Fallout 4: played one normal playthrough. Switched to survival (with the added challenge of making a sort of roleplay character) and I'm getting my ass kicked sometimes when I forget to take a refreshing beverage because stimpaks are worthless asides from limb damage.
A game being too easy is a legit criticism.
I think everyone can agree with you on the Nintendo Switch's/its accessories' prices. Who would honestly think "No, it deserves to be overly expensive"
Killjoy The toxic nintendrones
This has been the way nintendo is at least since the wii.
So in regard to the super metroid section of this video
1. Yes, the crouching/morph balling can be finnicky. I can agree with you there
4. I think ive gotten used to the jump arc, but i can also understand why it would be annoying to handle
5. Not related to SM but i love your vids including this one keep doing what youre doing bro
My unpopular opinion:
Local/splitscreen multiplayer > Online play
Also the biggest con in online play is if someone has a very high ping, it will fuck up your game
He said unpopular opinions not facts
Jakob Sanchez Fuck yes, agree completely
SPM is a great game, and even ignoring the story it's a fun puzzle-platformer with a unique artstyle. I just wish there was more variety to the battle system. I mean if they're gonna take the traditional "jumping on enemies" why don't we have the Fire Flower, power ups, Mario 2-style turnip throwing, various hammer maneuvers, or other classic Mario options? I would honestly love to see a sequel implement these ideas.
That's a fact
YES, that is all
It's the only Paper Mario game I've played (I know, I really should play the N64 and GC ones too), but it was an amazing game. I really wish Nintendo made a Super Paper Mario 2, I'd buy that without thinking twice about it.
Dang, yer good at explaining why you feel the way you feel about these things, without falling into the trap of mistaking your subjective feelings with objective fact. GG Caddy.

I prefer their wrestling channel from a few months back.
Stop Hating On Aqua but then Adam B got in some troubled
Amai Steaming hot trouble.
I'm pretty sure luigi's mansion on the 3ds was unanimously agreed to be the lesser of the two
I think it's worth mentioning that the original Luigi's Mansion was suppose to have 3D glasses support that let's you play the game in 3D, and while it had a working prototype, never became a reality because the 3D wouldn't work on all T.V.'s, so they got rid of that feature.
I see the port of the game being on the 3DS more as "What if Luigi's Mansion was in 3D like it was suppose to?" rather than "What if we put it on the 3DS?".
Ya, I still liked playing but it really lack the atmosphere of the first game.
I honestly have not seen any that, from what I have see almost everyone (including myself) thinks Dark Moon is the better game.
DeadhoofofWind Way I heard it, the 3D was too pricey at the time. At that's why it was dropped.

I love mario party ds
Mario party ds was the last Good mario party
I think that was the first game i ever played
I really like Mario Party DS! I remember loving it as a kid, and I think even today it holds up well as a really solid entry in the series. Now granted, I haven't played anything pre-MPDS so I can't judge for the super beloved GC ones, but in my opinion Mario Party DS is a very solid game!
Joshua Fernandes I liked MP8 a lot and that came after DS
No offense caddy but i think getting scared in horror games is subjective.
I agree it wasn't hard but the fact that so many people had the same problem but you didn't doesn't mean they're non existance to be fair.
I hope that's not too rude.

IllusioneTempus The one console should be the PC
@@Ms.kitsune42 Why though? Unpopular opinion : Ubisoft is actually a great studio if flawed. Way above EA or Activision.
Jb Lnds agreed
Well, they'd be a great studio, comparatively to EA or Activision if they were the only other two publishers in a worldwide triopoly.
This is more or less how Sega rose to power in the late 80s early 90s

Mario 64 ds is awesome imo. I find the way they handle the controls work really well with the d pad
I thought I was the only one who thought the controls were pretty good in SM64 DS
Dualshock 4 is my waifu

Mega Man II is the worst classic mega man game though
sans8642 it is. My favorite was always 3.
Pjames Phantom it's a fantastic game don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
I'm on the SPM love bandwagon ever since I played it.
That one's not unpopular any more. Sticker Star really made a lot of people appreciate Super a whole lot more. It is not an RPG though...
Pretty sure Super Paper Mario (while not loved) is not hated
KidSnivy96 I wasn’t too sure about how people felt about SPM mainly because the game had a small phase where the fandom was considered terrible and that’s why people avoided the game, but that seems to have faded. I wasn’t a part of it myself but I could see why it would deter people from wanting to play it.
"If there was ever a way to turn off the front facing controller light, I never found it"
That`s what Electrical Tape is for, Caddy.
that's what I use on some portions of my hdmi switch.
With the Elite controller, you can turn down the brightness of the Xbox light on your controller. Just wish the original controllers had that option as well...

I agree with you!
Jeremy Higgins
If all characters are avaliable on all systems, that makes it so it’s no incentive to buy the other versions.
What about times console mascots appeared in games as characters? (E.g. Link in soul caliber)
@@Kristian-jk2ww and that would be normal. The fact that corporations make incentives to force you to buy the same exact product multiple times to get the full experience is beyond dodgy, it's scammy marketing.
Kasumi Ryona
It doesn’t force you to buy anymore than one, if you only want one of the three exclusive characters, while yes it’s dogdy, it’s business.

**Yeah, smash a CRT TV!**
I liked Project M more than Melee

@@veloc.raptor9136 The entire EA sports games are all the same shit since 2005.
I like the switch... but my main problem is 1) Battery life, as I mostly play it on the go. 2) Price of Nintendo games... Zelda is $45-50 or so... SECONDHAND! It's a 1 year old game used, and to that price. 3) Still no Virtual Console.
At this point, Switch hackers are going to make a virtual console for the system before Nintendo does.
And still no way to backup your saves ! And there is a lot of good indies ok, but I don’t want only indies on my switch thx...
Odin's Playground Well its not nintendos fault that second hand games are overpriced.
I think Spirit Tracks was a really good Zelda game
Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks were my favorite ds games.
It's definitely underrated. Significantly better than Phantom Hourglass.
I agree. The pan flute controls got annoying for me, though.
The game teaches the mechanic really poorly, so it takes a bit to get it right. Then it's fine, until some of the really long songs in the late game. Those are rough. Definitely not great. Really the only downside of the game for me.
Dingalow It's a Zelda game with trains in it. Also Zelda dies.
*How could you NOT like it?*
Switch + Extra joycons + MarioKart 8 Deluxe =
385.94 Pounds which equals=
522.85 US Dollars which equals=
681.10 Australian Dollars.
Kill me.
Spud I bought my switch for $475 (ish) and MK8D was about $80, that’s about $550 and if you get second hand controllers (which is what I did because I’m a poor kiddo) which was only about $70-$80 for two so that’s about $630
Long story short, 2nd hand controllers work just as well and they’re cheaper.
Why is everyone buying extra joy cons, Chargers and screen protectors and shit? Am I the only one who just bought a switch and has only bought games?
Where did you get those prices?! Switch + Game + joycons is 450€ AT MOST. What happened in Britain? Did they do like in Europe where 300$ became 300€ for a Switch even when the conversion would make it around 240€ but set it at 300 pounds?

Unpopular Opinion
Brawl is better than Melee
Unpopular Opinion
I don't mind Goku being in Smash

P.S By the way this only a fraction of the unpopular opinions I have with Smash
Agreed
I like brawl
Watch heeew...this man explains how busted both melee and brawl (specially) are so busted.
But man Metal knight is so godamn op its insaine.
Yeah same the charcters are better and I grew up with it
I can see where you're coming from on the Switch's price, but I still think the price is perfect for what it is.
I agree with that.
So, would you recommend tropical freeze if I didn't buy the wii u version?
the only thing i have to say about the controller stuff can we look at the price of ps4 controllers 60 why does that get a pass and no alternatives to it either i miss the hori controllers that were good and cheap.
Love the fact that if you act dumb for Riddler he gets all annoyed and everything and that's just the best part about it.
Caddicarus: complains about switch price
Also Caddicarus: spends $1200 on a console with no games
Lol yeah, I just saw that.
its getting games now
If there was 1 console for all games then we'd see things like an 8 bit lawn mower sim for £70.00 or something.
Poor Postman Pat
Handington poor pp
He didn’t deserve it
Who's gonna look after his black and white cat now????
First-person shooters play just fine with console controllers.
Most of the 3D games on PS1 still look great for their time.
I love Sonic Heroes. I think it's the second best in the whole series, which the first is Sonic Unleashed.
I completely agree with it being your opinion. But in my opinion? No
Ew
I respect your opinion, but no

I actually like a little console exclusivity. It helps give the system an identity.
TOTALLY!!! :D
KingBowser 183 thank you!!!
... and? it provides absolutely no benefit to consumers whatsoever tbh.
@@dragonicbladex7574 Tell that to Nintendo. That's a system that has basically nothing but exclusives, and its doing pretty ell right now.

@@LizardClone2 If you can only afford one you should only have to pick based on the actual merits of the system, and well, the switch exclusives are exclusives for a reason, you couldn't really port those games, they need the switch.
Personally, I think the switch is no more expensive than other systems, but that video games are too expensive in general. Also, 1st party controllers are way too damn expensive.

Hairy Cornflake I very much agree!
You’re a dead man!!!
I grew up with spyro more but I adore both
I grew up with both but enjoyed Spyro more.
The Switch's base price of $300 is okay

I think that Life Is Strange is garbage and it is beyond me why some call it a masterpiece (yes...ive seen a lot of people say this)
Lol i wrote this before his segment in the video. Glad im not alone XD
Even tough I liked the game, I can't see why people love it so much. I mean, yeah, the story is ok, characters are ok, animation is, again, ok. It's ok at best. But honestly, it hasn't done anything to earn the masterpiece status
Zoidberg I liked it a lot, but now it seems very pretentious.
I think it's absolutely terrible lol
For a game that is entirely reliant on it's story and characters, it has garbage characters, dialogue, and plot. It's not worth it
14:22 foreshadowing.
I think the switch is priced well, the accessories on the other hand are disgustingly overpriced.

That Teletubby bit was so funny. I would totally be scared if it was down a dark hallway.
I don't understand why Battle Royale games like PUBG and Fortnite are popular. What do you get for winning after surviving battle royale with 99 other players, a majority of which are strangers? Just a "You win" message... That's it... Unless you're a streamer or a RUclipsr in that area, then some donations, but since not everyone is that popular, why continue after winning?
same, I don't find the games rewarding.
i actually HATE both pubg and fortnite but i dont think what you are saying is fair what do you get from finishing any game? why play games at all?
both games have huge flaws
they are a hiding simulator
they are about getting lucky with loot
pubg is full of gamebreaking bugs
fortnite relies on a gimmick to be competitive
but winning not giving anything just doesnt feel like it matter when there are so many other problems of course you can have your own opinion i am just giving mine
Why continue after winning a Call of Duty match? It’s the same concept honestly, at least to me it is.
Unpopular opinion no matter how good an anime is i perfer to watch it dubbed instead of subbed because i dnt speak Japanese and its easier to follow along with when im busy i dnt feel like imma slave to the screen to read the subtitles....not to mention i dnt believe the English voice actor's are that bad i jus wish there were more of em so we have more variety in voices so every 3rd character doesnt sound like piccolo from dbz
YEEEES! I seriously don't understand why people prefer to watch anime subbed (Though I don't watch it enough to have a real opinion on this) I want to watch what's fucking happening on screen, NOT READ THE GODDAMN SUBTITLES THE WHOLE TIME!
Rictavion Johnson Subs over dubs man. Games need to be dubbed, though.
THANK YOU.
Fire Hedgehog Most people can multitask and read and watch at same time.

Thank you for bringing up life is strange; Everyone jacks that game off like it's a work of art or whatever. I personally thought it was the edgiest story ever written, and the rewind mechanic just got so tedious and uninteresting since you could rewind if you don't like the result, just like you said. I only played the first episode, and I watched my roommate play a fair bit more of it, but I just did not like it one bit.

Final Fantasy 10 isn't a bad game. It's good, but not that great honestly.
The twilight princess opinion isn’t really that unpopular.
Well... U are in space!
Don't contradict me, I'm YHVH, despite what the username says.

Actually, the cord that you plug into the dock of the switch can be plugged directly into the switch, no need for that other charger.
Caddy: The Nintendo Switch is overpriced.
Joy Con Drift: Allow me to introduce myself...
***Laughs in pro consumerism***
How is that pro consumerism? If Nintendo didn't take ownership of the IP by funding it, there would be no sequel.
Also, Nintendo didn’t request Bayo to be exclusive. Platinum Games wanted to do it outta spite.
I was saying that this is not pro consumerism, and you don't even know what consumerism is.
Remember when the number 1 of the first list was a very, very popular opinion? Damn it Caddy...
love yooka
same here, I'm just happy with a playable 3d platformer. Now I want more, even after hat in time.
Holy shit hi gilly
gillythekid Gilly!
Daniel Lado Amen.
*GAAASP*
You truly ARE A MONSTER!
Just love that Tomba! Music constantly crops up in the background of your vids :)
Do you not know that you can aim diagonally up and down with the shoulder buttons in Super Metroid? Because you can, and it removes that issue of having to move in order to aim down.
Dear God Caddy never criticize Nintendo! The fans nearly lynched me for thinking the 3DS had too many remasters compared to exclusives in 2016 .-.
I wasted like $120 on one. Worst decision ever.
I love my 3DS but I wouldn't lynch anyone that didn't like it
Apav how to hack 3DS....... Ok
Foster Wood wow, no one has ever brought evidence as to why i felt that way back then.
Gotta admit my unpopular opinion is that the Wii U was a great system
Browncoats85 not really that unpopular of an opinion. Wii U is generally considered to be a great system, but was fundamentally botched by Nintendo. Poor naming which led to confusing marketing, a lack of games, less powerful hardware and being confusing to develop for meant devs struggled to put any new games on the system, etc.
A lot of people who say they hate console exclusives are the same people who say their console is better because it has a game no one else has
Well I say putting the market for games in your argument on why a console is better is valid.
