Nice video. I just saw that the Spinfisher VI 6500 is just about the same price as the Daiwa BG 6500. Which would you choose between those two reels? I would be fishing from the shore and piers in San Francisco Bay, NOT surf fishing getting drenched or even in a boat that much getting sprayed. Do you know what size and quality the bearings and gears are?
I've not used that model Diawa, so I can't really speak to it. But I can tell you we've put the Penn through its paces, and it has been very durable and still preforms great. I've used Penn for years and never had issues with them. Diawa makes some great reels but I'd go with the Penn.
Might be late to comment but I have experience with both of these reels the bg is great don’t get me wrong but the spinfisher is a much better choice I fish for striped bass and bluefish in the north east My bg lasted me about a year or 2 b4 it locked up on me it got grindy in the first 6 months of use I’ve had to maintenance it quite a few times as well all it really needs tho is a few bearings and it would probably run just as good as the first day I got it all the gears are in great shape On the other hand I’ve had my spinnfisher 6 for the same amount of time never cleaned it (I wash it off after use) has been splashed dropped etc still runs smooth as butter I’ll oil it and basic maintenance but nothing more thing is a tank I actually took apart my spinfisher like 2 months ago to do a quick re grease and oil I expected to see at least a little bit of sand or minor salt and there was not a spec of anything in the gear box I was amazed!!! Hope u went with the Penn haha
Yeah, the handle upgrade on this reel is definitely worth the money and makes this reel just that much better. I dont understand why they don't put a top knotch handle on this top knotch reel. It doesn't make any sense. Thanks for watching!

It reminds me of Cobra helicopters.
Aesthetically robust and deadly..😅
The stock handle on these are so bad, the reel itself is amazing but definitely needs a handle upgrade.

@@BlueLineFishing yea especially since the cheaper Battle 3 reels have nicer round handles.
Love the stock handle myself - works for me the round handle looks good too
