Took my brand new Battle II 5000 for a spin yesterday for the very first time and I hooked a 20lb yellowtail using a Ugly Stik X2 (medium hard) rod ruclips.net/user/postUgkxM68VkfsQhHaabDce1IwOCXuvumcpbZ_k . This combo was recommended on some website and it did not disappoint me. The reel is smooth, the drag click is pretty cool cause i think it adds to the excitement of fighting the fish, personally the drag is my favorite part. I use braid and 300 yards will fill the entire spool. This combo is my main setup from now on although I have to disclose I am new to fishing.
Watching that drag scream just makes me happy lol

agreed in the fact once i went saltwater i mostly stay salty, however its still nice to fish freshwater for the different setting. i missed exploring environments with woods and trails vs strictly ocean
@@ianundercover6295 Not sure where you live but exploring mangoves in south florida is amazing. There is a ton of inshore to see, offshore you can dive on reefs. Hell you can dive a jetty at any inlet and see amazing stuff. I'm saltwater all the way now . I grew up bass fishing but stopped when I caught my first big snook.

whats your favorite reel between Slammer 3 4500 or Saragosa 6000??
Complicated decision. Both are war mashines. But, i love more the Saragosa gear system, is very smooth.

I've eaten jack, and it was fine. Down in Mexico BCS, the locals refer to the jack, not as good, but as "not repugnante" (not bad).Fun fish!
