    I just picked up a Icon Airflite helmet and I am looking for a BT setup. I am on the fence between this and the Sena SMH10R. Have you had experience with the Sena?

      Yes Sir. LOTS of experience with most all Sena units. I have this RAU unit installed and I really like it a lot. It does not perform to the level of my 20S or my Packtalk Bold, but it does a really good job. It essentially has the guts of the SMH10R. This RAU is streamlined and very light weight. The ONLY dislike is the fact that the unit is basically hard wired to the helmet so I have to take the entire helmet inside to charge. The unit does not "easily" detach for off the helmet charging. My 2 cents.... Thanks for watching. - Kyle

    I know this is pretty new for you. I was wondering if you have any first impressions of how it works and sounds while riding. How does is compare with the Sena 30K?

      I have about 1,500 miles on it now... and it is good. Simple to use and the battery lasts a LONG time. Like three or 4 days of commute use between charges. Clarity is pretty good but volume seems to be lacking. I threw it in and have run with it... I have not taken the time to dig through the manual / SENA App as of yet to see what I can change. The BIGGEST dislike is the fact that I have to charge the unit ON the helmet. It does not "quick disconnect" from the helmet so I can charge "just the unit" inside. I have to take the whole helmet inside... not fun. More to come.... Thanks for watching! - Kyle

      Hi Rodolfo, it depends on what Brand and model units you and other riders have. Most brands will only work with the same brand, however, Sena's new firmware has made it possible to link up with other brands.

    How do you intercom pair additional units?!

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  2 года назад

      Hello, the instructions for pairing to another unit comes in the manual, but basically you have the units powered on, then tap the center button on each unit for 5 seconds to start pairing, then tap the center button on the home unit again and the prompt will say "Intercom connected."

    I don't understand, why all intercoms or Bluetooth headsets are so huge and ugly ??? It's kills all labors and efforts of the designers who works on helmet design. I know only Sharktooth intercom which is slim and looks not like a brick attached to the helmet.
    chineese cheap helmet BT headsets ( not intercom ) fits just in headphones places in helmet with no external module. if chineese could do that why nobody else can?

    • @chaparralmotorsports
      @chaparralmotorsports  5 лет назад +1

      Good question. Batteries, drivers and electronics all take up space. As these are universal to fit any helmet, the guts can not be "built into the helmet" unlike the bluetooth Chinese unit you reference. We would love to see some more streamline units! @@chaparralmotorsports have you seen the apple airpods? One small earplug can do the same or maybe even more than regular helmet headset. With a size of 1 penny. That's what I'm talking about. Why no body can do the same for helmets.

      @chaparralmotorsports  5 лет назад +2

      @@huevfo Yes... but have you tried Airpods on a bike? WORTHLESS! The sound waves of the wind / road noise battle those of the airpod sound waves. The best sounding set-up I have run to-date is the Packtalk Bold with JBL sound. They sound amazing!

      @@chaparralmotorsports to use airpods on the bike - is the worst idea =)) even if you could pick out em from your head after using good fullface helmet. XD But I'm talking about technological progress which allows to create small and beautifull things with fantastic functionality without sacrificing design/aerodynamic/wind noise silence and etc. it seems that progress stucks somewhere in the begining of 2000 uear.
      by the way I've Found intercom I like more

      If you want sleek then buy a ruroc helmet with their shockwave sound system, beautiful design that is completely unseen and only heard, as it should be.
