    The jacket prices have boosted through the roof. I think these jackets are like $800 new. That’s absolutely insane especially when I use to buy the top end gear from Burton for well below half that price. I do love my Burton gear and have used it for the last 15 years solid. I have a Hover jacket from 5 years ago… still going strong. Excellent gear. Got it for $250.
    All this said, you honestly don’t really need 3L unless you like rain. 2L is plenty fine, but unfortunately, they also sacrifice the nicer fit and function to force you to pay more.

      Just wait till the season ends. I got a 3L for less than half price last summer.

      @@thegoodridesnow Same! I may go for the AK Hover Pro in hedge green though. However, that Jake blue sure looked sharp when Danny Davis was riding in it all spring. I just never splitboard here in MN, so I don't really need the Tusk. I know it's a great resort jacket but the Hover Pro may be best. Although in the end it's also a color choice, haha

      The Jake blue is for sale on the site! I’m sure you often test then buy jackets but in case you were looking to buy

      @@tmikec19 It's a very nice blue. Picked up the obnoxious yellow color myself. Love it.🙂The only question now is whether I dare complete it with the same color in a Tusk bib.

    Rode full rainy days dry with ak swash 2l. If you get wet its comming from the inside :) breathability makes the difference

      Its coming from the outside in my tests. I have tested with 2L Gore-Tex and especially the Swash in rain too. You even see me wearing the Grey Swash pant in the review. 3L Gore-Tex Pro just lasts longer. Especially with having to sit on the chair. That presses water against your Gore-Tex and I found 3L Gore-Tex Pro pants do better resisting that pressure for longer.

    Is this jacket good for warm snowing conditions? Such as when you snowboard at +6 or something

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  8 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah its excellent for that. This helps me rain ride if I want to. It's the most water resistant jacket I've ever owned.

    I don’t normally ride in rainy days, is 3L good to layer up during some cold days?

    • @thegoodridesnow
      @thegoodridesnow  6 месяцев назад +1

      Yeah the wind proofing is excellent and allows the layers below to do their job. That being said you could easily get away with a cheaper 2 layer gore-tex jacket or even a non gore-tex jacket with a thick windproof outer layer like 70D or more if you don't see a lot of wet weather.
