- What's up everyone. In this video I'm going to show you how to remove a dashboard out of 99 Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GST. I did perform this a few years back, and since this one was in decent condition.. I figured why not take it out and make a video out of it. Hope you guys enjoyed the content!

How long did it take for you? and how much harder was to get on the heater core?
Nice red Spyder, looks like mine lol I need those little plastic seatbelt covers that are on the back panels. The things the belt go through. Also needing a boot cover for when the top is down

Do you know if it’s possible to change a convertible into a hard top and about how much do you think swapping the engine for a turbo engine would be?
You can change to a hard top. You would have to cut one off from a junkyard. It was something I was working on got the roof with the triangle windows and the hatch. It all fit but I never finished.
Yeah watching this video some more all the way thru you decided to remove the steering wheel when the dash got hung up and you couldn't go anymore without forcing it and thus breaking plastic pieces from the dash. I been there and done that with my 03 Hyundai Tiburon GT where i had to take the steering wheel off and unbolt the steering wheel column down to the floor so I can easily pull the dash forward out and exit to the side door without any hassles. Unfortunately Hyundai used inferior plastic material in this dash and alot of the plastic in the dash was cracked and brittle and missing broken plastic pieces particularly the mounting bolt hole locations in the plastic.
Yeah it would help make it easier removing the dash by removing the steering wheel and dropping the steering column down to the floor. You only want to do this once as you don't want to break anything from the dash struggling to pull the dash out. You can't buy the original dash from Mitsubishi anymore and finding a 2g or even a 1G dsm dash in acceptable condition is rare.

ik it different on the 3g and 2g but i had everything in, including seats, I had the top down

In older hyundais the ECU was either bolted down below the radio unit under the climate controls or to the right of the gas pedal behind the carpeting. They all use Mitsubishi brand ECU cuz all older hyundais are mitsubishis in disguise, maybe its the same in 2g dsms
It's in your engine bay to the right.
