- In this video i will cover the IQ of every danganronpa character according to me.
I try to be as unbiased as possible in this video. I give an explanation for every character so you know why I chose their placement.

I feel like Kyoko should've been slightly higher because of her past life It kind of suggests she is extremely smart. It was said in Danganronpa Kirigiri she has handled weapons at the age of 10. And she became a detective at 13. Figuring out her first case in just a small amount of time. Also I would like to add it was said that she read plenty of books, and also he grandfather's diary full of cases he completed this gives her even more knowledge, I am not mentioning about the grandfather's position because that is a spoiler to Danganronpa Kirigiri, so let's just say his father was extremely intelligent and wise and wrote down his cases and strategies, letting Kyoko read it to use for cases. Which suggests she is really smart and probably has a higher IQ than most of the Danganronpa Characters.

I've heard some people have said Kyoko probably has an IQ near Junko's, although Junko can literally predict the future, but Kyoko has enough knowledge and intelligence, to may do the same, but she uses her theories and deductions to predict the future. if u have seen her actions in Danganronpa 1 and Danganronpa 3 anime she has been doing that the whole time and she has been always correct. Which could mean that she is probably nearly as smart Junko maybe more and her IQ could be near Junko's.
I would like to mention, I feel like Chihiro should be just below Kyoko, although Chihiro must require a vast amount of knowledge to his ultimate. If you see throughout the game and if u see more into Kyoko. Kyoko probably has a higher IQ than Chihiro.
@@irrelevant.to.society8467 Chihiro can only outsmart Kyoko in the technological field, whereas Kyoko does have higher observance skills and generally smart/calm in dire situations. Junko knew Kyoko was a threat as she was the smartest among the class and probably the only one smart enough to find out the despair plan so when it comes to erasing memories, she spent more time on Kyoko and her talent so she can be less of a foil. She literally battled against a criminal organisation at the age of 13 too (In Danganronpa Kirigiri with Yui), I don't think Kyoko is smarter than Junko but their intelligence is almost as rivaled.

I think Hiyoko should be higher than Yasuhiro.
Hiyoko is intelligent and can easily figure out how to annoy people. She learned to avoid bullies and was most likely taught at some of the best schools because of her status. Just because she can't tie her kimono doesn't mean she's dumb it means she's inexperienced and helpless. She was brought up not being taught anything about person life skills because everyone expected her to always have a servant around to help. Yasuhiro is 20 and much more experienced than most kids but has failed so many years of school.
Also Ibuki should be higher. She's just having fun and being herself. She wants to be goofy and speaking in third person is her choice that she makes cause it's funny and quirky and different. Not because she is dumb.
Most of these are just misconceptions of IQ versus inexperience or one event. For example, Aoi was able to almost convince three people that Sakura commit suicide and two of them were Byakuya and Toko/Syo.
I respect your opinions but there are some facts that contradict them and I just wanna bring them to light because I love the characters I mentioned and kin Hiyoko, Aoi, and Ibuki.

Hiyoko deserves to be much higher, she correctly identified Mikan's manipulation before anyone even considered it. She would have solved the third case in 2 seconds if she lived
I'm considering making a video like this, but idk about the exact ranking . However I can sort them better. First, IQ is only one part of intelligence, specifically it scales your ability to think quickly. It actually has nothing to do with academics(I think)
We also need to take into account the characters' backstories, and rank their skills despite that.
First, let's grab a nice variety of traits in an intelligent person, a level head, independence, EQ, wisdom, perception, charisma/manipulation, creativity, IQ(aka basically how well you can think in your head right away), as well as analyze their ultimates for any possible hidden intelligence. Next, we need to break down the characters, I'll go one game at a time for now, so it's easier to organize
THH: Genocide Jack, Leon, Mondo, Hifumi, Hiro, Aoi, Taka, Toko, Makoto, Sayaka, Sakura, Mukuro, Byakuya, Celeste, Chihiro, Kyoko, Junko
Genocide Jack, this one the youtuber is 100% right about, but she should be lower, especially since she's younger than Toko
Leon is shown to slack off and lack motivation with most things. It's specifically stated that he's good at baseball because of him being physically strong. He also has a pretty shallow understanding of girls, and even after we(Makoto) convince him to go back to baseball, he still refuses to practice. Also, if you count the manga as canon, Sayaka still had the knife. He also doesn't know how to properly clean up a crime scene, but these are high schoolers and that's not a very common skill
Mondo, similar to Leon, behaves quite irrationally but, he has a reason to. He also demonstrates a bit of wisdom in his final fte where he wants to improve himself and become a carpenter, this is more maturity than Leon ever showed
Hifumi is a writer, which would require some skill, although considering what he writes... Maybe skill doesn't have much to do with it 😬. He's also quite gullible, although this is Celeste we're talking about.
Hiro yes, has a debt and has been held back, but I don't think he was just fooling around with the monokuma. He also starts up a tv in the game and starts an electric train in UDG Hagakure. He also possesses a more cunning side occasionally
Aoi doesn't fricking know how people's metabolism works 💀 despite being an athlete(it's true, play her ftes) She's also forgetful and gullible for seemingly no reason. However, between her bond with Sakura and her overall empathetic nature, she could easily be more intelligent than we think
Taka is canonically pretty slow witted, he's also gullible but due to how few social skills he has, we can't hold this against him. He's quite wise for a teenager and mature, knowing natural talent isn't everything

Honestly Sho's placement makes sense when you think about it, since Sho is considerably younger than Toko. She's had far less life experience, and since Toko tried to block her out of half of her own mind, it didn't help with Sho's learning curve. She was born of Toko's rejection and hateful emotions, she was never meant to be a being of reason, and it's why she's not nearly as academically or logically smart as many of the other characters.
I actually thought a serial killer who never got caught would be pretty smart.

YESS FINALLY SOMEONE TO PAY ATTENTION TO HOW SMART KOKICHI REALLY IS. You may not like him but omg he is a genius. To be able to come up with a whole plan after one backfires just like that, and having it be so in detail for just the small amount of time he had. Man.
You should instead credit Tsumugi’s awful writing skills.
He’s smart, but not as top 3 smart. He only needed to use the backup plan because he was too paranoid to trust anyone, which is his own brand of stupidity.

I feel like Naegi should be _significantly_ higher given that, despite being an “average high schooler,” he was able to piece together the majority of the murders and who the murderers were, which even had Byakuya on edge and made him Kyoko’s trusted aide in others. He puts himself down quite a bit but he’s actually remarkably intelligent. I’m baffled he’s below _Akane_ of all people. Same thing for K1BO, who actually is far more intelligent than his placement.
Edit: I disagree with the placement of quite a few characters actually.

Kokichi was never paranoid everything that you could count as being paranoid by that i mean barley his statements had truth in it no matter how much paranoia is in there.

@@Scarlet.Octopi by paranoid they don't mean it through actions or his facade, he is scared to trust anyone and even despises the thought of trust. by paranoid they mean it in a trust issues way, even if he doesn't show it, it doesn't mean that it does not exist.
This whole list is a hot mess imo. Being knowledgeable doesn’t mean you have a high intelligence-quotient. Characters like Celestia and Korekiyo should be much higher than characters like Kazuichi and Toko. The former are far more perceptive than the latter. Field of education doesn’t determine your capability to reason.

As a Hiyoko enthusiast, I must stop you right here.
Being unable to tie a kimono does not make you less intelligent, it's just that nobody taught her. I don't think she's the smartest, though she's definitely smarter than someone like Akane or Aoi. Not much smarter than a Nekomaru however.
@Rosie she couldn't make it because she probably only ever saw Mahiru do it on her but didn't do it herself. Plus, you can't be a master after a singular lesson. She probably would have been able to do it infront of a mirror.
Hiyoko is actually very smart.
1. She's very perceptive, and one of the only people able to see through Mikan's facade and figure out that she trips for attention much earlier than most.
2. She's a decent manipulator, being able to spot the right people to trick and manipulate which helped her survive so long.
3. She's level headed and holds a strong sense of justice, she's quite mature when the body discoveries hit, and she approaches the situation with a level head, meaning she has a high EQ as well
She's no genius, but I think she's at least a little above average. Maybe 105 or something

1. This might be true, though I can also see her only saying that Mikan is doing it for attention simply because she wants to bully her.
2. Wouldn't necessarily call her a manipulator, she certainly knows how to spot people's weaknesses and point them out/use them against them though. I don't think that had anything to do with her surviving up to chapter 3 though.
3. Level headed no, sense of justice yesn't. Hiyoko is seen as quick to panic and cry whenever she gets any sort of backlash, which doesn't necessarily stand for level-headedness. She does have a sense of justice, but is it really good? We know she dislikes creepy men and murderers but she's someone who bullies people who clearly can't fight back. That's not really "justice". But I do agree, Hiyoko isn't as stupid as people make her out to be.

To Chihiro’s credit, he managed to create a sentient AI that was the catalyst in saving Naegi’s life and aiding in the Virtual World for the SDR2 characters to reside in. Had he not died, who knows how much more of what he’d be capable of.
Chihiro being that high is the best thing ever, he is the smartest person when it comes to coding and programming.
I would actually put Chihiro in 3rd place right before Junko and Izuru, there's having amazing analytical skills, and then there's superhuman genius.

This list is NOT accurate. So many characters are overrated and underrated here it’s crazy.
Kyoko is far more intelligent than that, in Danganronpa Kirigiri, we can see how a Rank 3 detective knew everything that Yui Samidare did in Christmas at almost perfection with just a glance at her body, then we know based in the DSC (Detective Shelf Collection) that there exist higher rankings like Rank 2,1 and 0 being Rank 0 considered Legends amongst detectives, not only that but exists the Double Zero (Detectives being the very best in every sub category in a category) and Triple Zero (Detectives being the very best in every sub and normal category that includes, cibernetic crimes, all type of homicides, polítical crimes including terrorism, religious crimes, etc) and a Rank 0 detective is like a master compared to Rank 3 detectives, and also Triple Zero Detectives are still way dumber that someone who has the right to be called Ultimate Detective, so pretty sure Kyoko and Shuichi are way higher

@@SkyZ77 Both are Ultimate Detectives, Kyoko very obviously is a Triple Zero and I think Shuichi would be 9?0 because he was claimed Ultimate Detective by solving a case Including murder, so a Rank 0, for solving that impossible crime and 9 because is the category of homicides, but we don't what type of homicide was so I can't tell what sub category number would have in DSC

I love how people treat that nonsense "Kyoko" says about Sayaka in the abriged version more seriously than what the real Kyoko said in the actual game. In addition to Sayaka being very well-built in her own right, even if Leon was stronger than she is (with Sayaka working out every day and Leon never, i wouldn't be sure and "several times" is pure nonsense) Sayaka still had a knife and the element of surprise, while Leon never had any combat training or experience. Muscles wouldn't make him knife-proof and this was meant to be a murder, not a fight. I find it far more likely that the actual Kyoko was right and Sayaka failed due to her state of mind rather than the "mistake" of her victim choice.
I also like how people think Sayaka was stupid for inviting Leon but i almost never hear how stupid Leon was for accepting the invitation.
As for Makoto, yes he's an ordinary guy. Which considering that most of the Danganronpa characters are idiots should put him much higher on the list.

I would actually rank Kiri a bit higher, just seeing everything she did in THH, it’s insane just rewatching/replaying her looking through the murders. (YES,) THH had less sleuthing to be done compared to 2 and 3, but her background alone should also carry her in the ranking.
You say that Kokichi is superior because Kyoko, shuichi Hajime makoto and so on because they weren't able to come up with a plan to beat the mastermind. 1. Kokichi had to make tons of sacrifices and had to resort in using tools from others like mius tech, to achieve this.
Also his plan did fail, makoto and hajime and shuichi, never explicitly tried to end the killing game until chapter 6 and succeeded and kyoko actually became a problem for the mastermind and junko went out of her way to have her killed.
He probably put kokichi above (he did not deserve to be there top 5 ok but not 3 man) because they all used the same concept of hope and won by voting/not voting. Kokichi managed to commit a murder that rendered the game dysfunctional and prevented the game from progressing any further for a while because monokuma could not make a decision. (Nagito’s plan was perfect and relied on his tallent but since he wanted to kill everyone but the traitor we can’t compare this two plans much. Why? Because both plans intended to do different things.) Of course, if he had executed his plan with Shuichi and not Kaito then he would have definitely won.
Meanwhile with Shuichi, Hajime and Makoto’s case all they needed to do was find the mastermind with the help of the ultimate detective’s talent (İzuru, Shuichi himself and kyoko) then convice others to vote/not vote (which was hard as fuck in my opinion).
Kyoko? Put her in 3 she deserves it.
Btw I don't think it’s possible to make a tier list like this. The best way is making tier lists in every category since there is different types of intelligence.

Junko literally predicted her own loss showing she let herself lose. Kokichi was the only one who didnt have help from others, Kyoko had Naegis luck too, and Miu also tried to kill him, and yet Kokichi destroyed her. His plan also if im not wrong led them to crucial info and with Kaitos death gauranteed the masterminds loss at least.

Good list, but I personally rank Kyoko and Nagito higher than Kokichi. I just don't have any reason to believe that Kokichi can outsmart Kyoko, and I still believe Nagito's final mystery was harder to solve than Kokichi's. For these reasons and many more, I think I am justified in saying that these two do deserve higher placements. However, it's okay if you disagree; just be polite and civil about it, please.

Kokichi’s plan was figurable without outside help, you didn’t need an entity with information outside of the murder to solve the mystery (plus it made sense once you saw the objective of the murder, it really wasn’t that hard to figure out and it only worked because of the electro bombs Miu’s plot convenience talent created)
While Nagito DID make an impossible to solve murder unless you were either:
1- a spectator (Monokuma)
2- an outside identity (Like Chiaki who was the traitor and deduced Nagito tried to kill the others
And then we have Kyoko who literally carried the THH cast with ease, girl could have beaten the fuck out of Junko since day 1 had she not had amnesia (can we talk about that? She remembered shit about herself and managed to be more useful than half the cast wtf???)
I disagree, one was a 50/50 chance because it had to be, the other was involving an entire group of people because it had to. Of course Nagito's plan was harder to solve, especially since he had to fool the cast more than Monokuma. Kokichi only had to make a plan Monokuma/Tsumugi couldn't definitively solve, as he somewhat relied on Shuichi to be smart enough to lie. Weirdly, Shuichi acted out of character and messed it all up.
Nagitos case was ACTUALLY unsolvable, like it literally was unsolvable if it wasn't for nagitos luck, that case was 100% unsolvable, but kokichis case was solvable to some extent which is why they were able to solve that case. So yeah i agree with you, i don't think kokichi can outsmart kyoko either. And what i think about the comment above me is that, i don't think that kokichi did the smartest thing possible, if he just trusted the others he wouldnt have to rely on shuichis smartness, if only he gave him some hint, that was his dumb part. Nagito wanted to kill all his friends and let the traitor survive because he knew the outside world would turn back to normal if he did, nagito planned to save the whole world by killing off his friends and himself, kokichi planned to end the whole killing game by making an unsolvable murder, But in the end yet they both underestimated their friends which is why both of their plans failed. Kokichi is really smart but not as smart as Izuru or kyoko. Though he might be as smart as nagito i don't think he is smarter than nagito.
yeah... but nagito relies heavily on his talent in the end. While kokichi mostly made up his plan without even using his talent. Yes nagito plan is unsolvable but the more realistic scenario will goes to kokichi.
A lot of people shits on his plan cause it relied on luck, plus i saw that people think Nagito is edgy and thus they don't like him that much.
Without bias and anything, Nagito and Kokichi are on the same level, both are far above Junko and Kirigiri, cause they both reached the truth already since chapter 3 lol.
Nagito's plan being based on luck, is not something negative, rather the opposite, when you can put something as vague as luck, into a calculated plan, making that luck also calculated, it's the definition of using something illogical and making it logical, Nagito had to prepare a situation in which his luck had to kick in, it's literally a cake prepared by his genious mind, in which his talent was just the cherry on top, he didn't needed to know who that was, Nagito needed to trigger the traitor into killing him without that person noticing, and to make things worse, even if they figure out his plan, the final part would be utterly impossible to figure out, because it was based on something in which rationality wouldn't have worked, this was Nagito's goal, this irrationality was used in a rational way, it's not the luck that did the trick, it was Nagito's mind that did it, that luck is nothing without Nagito's mind, infact he used the rules of the killing game against the game itself, hadn't Chiaki sacrificed herself, Nagito would have legit defeated Junko and Izuru lol.
Kokichi's case was based on having rationality that can't be doubted, because literally everything pointed out on Kaito dying, the idea that Kokichi killed himself and Kaito somehow is now covering for Kokichi, is something that sounds as crazy as Nagito's plan lmao, it just doesn't make sense considering what you know out of these characters prior to this case, and you have factual proofs that literally show you that's what really happened, doubting this meant going against common sense and rationality, against real proofs lol, that's the clima Kokichi created, infact Shuichi was literally making assumptions (and somehow was so sure of something that not only couldn't prove in any way, but went against any kind of common sense) and he knew that, that's why he was able to backtrack and just said he was lying, cause there were no proofs that would have supported a theory that crazy, based just on the fact the press stopped for one sec, Kokichi placed Monokuma in a state where he would have been forced to break his own rules, hadn't Kaito given up, Kokichi would have legit ended the franchise lol.
Of course since Nagito and Kokichi aren't main characters it was obvious their plan had to fail, infact Kodaka needed to make them a bit easier for the player, hadn't Kodaka done this, Nagito would have actually hided the poison, the box, the mask ecc...but he didn't, yet he did destroy the page that said they were all ROD, same goes for Kokichi that didn't needed to take off his shirt, it's just like he said "you're just leaving more clues behind" that's shirt should have been destroyed with his body or Kaito could have just hided it into the Exisal together with the script and the rest.
I don't really get how Makoto is lower than people like Toko or Mondo considering they had no idea what was going on half the time during the trials. After the 2nd trial, Byakuya realizes that the only real threats to him are Makoto and Kyoko. I feel like there is a difference between raw intelligence and expertise in a certain field.
Miu was exactly correct and as someone who can study behavior as a career, the IQs were relatively close minus a few changes I would make.
But my only discrepancy is that you didn't notice that Miu in every single chapter guessed the culprit right just to be shot down because she didn't have the evidence.

Sayaka is way too low on this list. Just like with her character, her intelligence is completely underrated by most danganronpa fans. Her psychic joke, mostly treated like fluff and comedic relief actually shows her ability to know exactly what others are thinking, just by looking at their face. If she didn't attack 11037 she would've been as much as helpful during the trials as Makoto if not more.

I agree with most of those but I have some things I disagree with
First I'd say Chiaki should be way higher, she's one of the most analytical capable danganronpa character and pretty much was one if the rare character who actually used their brain during the trials in Dr2 lol
I'd also put Tsumugi higher, while it's true that she obv has an advantage, an idiot won't suddenly become a master at 4d chess if you give them tools
She's a better liar, manipulator and actor than Kokichi (which is to be expected I mean she's the mastermind) and overall has set up a game in a way where no matter the outcome, unless no one plays she win. And if you don't play she'll force you to.
I'd also put Kyoko higher, her feats in the first game are insane and she literally carried the class ass for the entire game, she literally solved trials before the even started ffs lol plus if we consider info regarding her even before the memory wipe, yea she's pretty damn smart

Kokichi judge each other based on pattern, based on how they'd act depending on what he'd say. He don't see the cast as "people" when it come to manipulation, he sees them as basically stereotypes
That why all of his plan failed.
Insect greet? Failed in a lot of different way because of his way of seeing things and even ended up being one of the reason ryoma died *despite* having seen his video because he thought that *logically* Maki wouldn't give him the MV
His whole "mastermind plan" become a *lot* less impressive when you realize he spent week on it only for it to fail in 2 different way in 1 day and a half for things he legit didn't saw coming
Same with his unknown murder plan, it's a good plan in concept but once you realize that Kokichi clearly underestimated what he was up against and that he actually didn't not think deeply though this plan at all (backup plan and stuffs) honestly it just feels like shallow spectacal.
Kokichi is smart at having ideas for plans, improvising and even manipulating but when it come to achieving his plan due to his flawed way of thinking he constantly fail
The only thing he actually fully achieved while alive is manipulating gonta, someone that everyone can manipulate
Plus he didn't carry trials aside from 3-4, Shuichi did, all Kokichi did was make deduction and pretend he knew the truth (3-1 and 3-2 where he act confident about knowing the truth only to be straight up wrong)
Kokichi's smart af but I'd put him behind the likes of Kyoko or Nagito because unlike those two who seemed to be almost plot convinience goated, Kokichi thought process that got him so far is also what doomed him in so many ways

ibuki actually helped in the trials a few times. probably should at least be a bit higher, tbh. this point may be a bit pointless, but id assume ibuki is talented in a lot of instruments, and to learn that amount of instruments at that age in that time to that skill probably makes her a fast learner. also, speaking in third person isn’t an indicator they’re dumb. it might have been a localization decision to keep that method of talking, since japanese also uses third person.

Izuru Kamukura might have an infinite IQ and every talent, but he did absolutely nothing while Junko plunged the world into oblivion. His lack of empathy and perpetual boredom caused him to neglect the suffering of millions, even though he intellectually knew the consequences of his inaction. Hajime Hinata might be average, but he tries his hardest to help his friends. He cares about people and honestly that’s way more important than being a genius.
That's why Hajime should be fitted in some other position than 35th place. Maybe my boy couldn't know what an elevator was, but he still had great deductions about the incidents in Class Trials and an analytical emotional understanding about Natsumi's will in Danganronpa 3 and 77th class' students personalities while on New World Program.

He caries every single trial and contributes the most to investigations, being able to quickly pick out and remember every bit of important information that's integral to catching the culprit, he's like the only one who can keep up with Kyoko and Byakuya.
