The ODSTs are the squads that take out troublesome targets. The Spartans are the shining beacon of hope in the desolate warzone, always turning the tides of war. No one group is more important than the others.

hell the guy got halo space battles right ships actually using their full arsenals and seeing it taking 3 mac rounds to down a covenant corvette and UNSC ships coordinating their firing solutions.
For anyone that's wondering, these studios are full of talent with guys just like this one here, the fingers should be pointed at the studio execs, a lot (not all) studios are run by people who don't understand anything about storytelling, or art in general. The people who make the calls are the ones with the money in their pockets, because you know they gotta make that sales quota by the end of the sales term. They are, in my most humble opinion, the least qualified individuals.... and that's the root of the problem, people that are unqualified are the ones that are making the calls, and I would say it is also in issue in lower-level management as well
I love how much character there is in each Spartan: the Gungnir with the uparmored chest piece and Commando shoulder pads is close quarters and demolitions, the Scout with Jun’s armor is the sniper and the Commando is your general, multi-purpose loadout. Amazing detail
This is absolutely incredible I especially love how you manage to portray the Spartans as more human in this They feel more like they're just BETTER soldiers vs some far removed godly beings that're more than men, it's kinda like 'As ODSTS, we're good, but the Spartans are the best in our group' Can't wait to see this when it's done (and if any postprocessing goes in to add more effects later on, this is gonna be fucking unreal) Keep up the amazing work
absolutely insane what you have been able to do solo.. its both depressing to see how poorly official halo content is being handled rn, but inspiring seeing the incredible talent that is able to produce actually incredible Halo content. Keep up the fantastic work
LOL. HOLY Shit I was about to say the same thing, It is both depressing and inspiring to see this and see what people with money do to the franchise. One can only hope Halo will have justice.
What I like most is that each of the Spartan armors fit Each role they’re in Recon’s sniper so it’s sleek Gungnir’s the heavy weapons so he’s the chunky equal to Jorge Grenadier’s simply Rocket Man the ODST armored one i assume to be a newly “created” one so he joined as the “rookie” but kept his ODST roots And there’s Pilot, being an actual pilot It’s so simple but it’s just great

This got everything we love about halo Marines, odst, covenant, spartans, large battles, more action less talk, sick soundtracks and other good things, the fact a 100 million dollar budget studio couldn't get this right is offensively astonishing
impressive. as a soldier, the way of fighting for the odst and marines are pretty good! of course the spartan can act like a tank. but they are not stupid they take cover sometimes (in the tv show, they do weird movements)
Getting serious halo wars vibes and I love it. Also love that it's not just the Spartans kicking ass but also the ODSTs and even the rank and file marines/troopers are getting in on the action
5:43 I really appreciate your attention to detail: When the Spartans enter the scene, there’s that abrupt and subtle shake to the camera whereas when the ODST’s enter there’s none at all. Gotta love those small things to really feel the atmosphere of the setting! 🥃
This is easily the coolest thing I've ever seen done with the Halo series. Absolutely stunning and this is still a WIP. One thing you get right most of all that I love is that you make everything feel like it has weight. There's always a sense of force and impact whether it's the machine gun on the warthog, the Spartans landing from the falcon, or the drop pods landing on the battlefield. Everything from the movements, sound effects, and even the music choices are top notch. I've had my favorite songs from the Halo soundtracks on repeat the past couple days since you've uploaded this. I can't wait to see the finished video. I know it's going to be far and away your best work, and that's really saying something. Keep it up.
I'm so happy for SODAZ, like, he gets some of his passion projects stricken down and so he just pivots and keeps working, getting better and better by the project! Very well done.
I'll never forgive GW for the calibre of content they robbed the 40k community of, nor will I forgive those of the community that abused SODAZ while GW was doing it. This work proves the man's toolset may be different but his talent is undeniable.
@@oiwithyou yeah as someone who came in for his amazing 40k stuff I'm disappointed in our community that that ever happened. The guy had no choice. It was literally "do or we sue" and the blame and hate should be squarely directed at geedubs.
Love how the Spartans are more sure of their Armour and take less cover also probably due to different training while the ODST's and Marines take more hard cover and use suppressing fire.
And when the shields on a spartan go down from a brute shot they immediately move to cover and the spartans start dealing with them more tactically instead of just rushing through like they did all the fodder. They treated the brutes as a proper threat. This is animated a lot like how Halo actually plays. You wade through grunts and jackals, usually end up running over Elites if you can, and have to play it smart around brutes because they always show up in places it's hard to get a vehicle into as well as usually having the ability to flip your vehicle anyways. Only thing missing is grenade action. Plasma and frag. Also helmets not popping off but that's an SFM limitation and if I remember right this is in SFM
Truly at a loss for words. As a kid, I would daydream this kind of stuff in my head. Now I'm seeing someone actually create it themselves. The set pieces, animations, sound design, everything... It's pretty much flawless. And the fact that it's ONE GUY doing all this? Mind-blowing. Seriously man, this is nothing short of phenomenal!
It's got all of the familiar look of Reach, but every gunshot, footstep, movement, and explosion just has so much of a solid impact behind it. The battle scenes have a lot of push and pull, making them so much more dynamic. Such a great job. Incredibly satisfying.
This feels like a 2010's animation with more modern tech. I could honestly see this in a Halo Legends 2 and this isn't even its final form. Glorious work, you give Rooster teeth a run for their money with this. This is solid as is, Im only halfway through too. Monty would be so impressed to see this
This is the theatrical, combined-arms humans vs aliens Halo warfighting experience I wanted to see on the big screen. Great work. I really appreciate that it strikes that difficult balance between 'these are our heroes who must win' - with the canonical power of the Spartan soldiers - and the backdrop of 'our heroes are barely holding' - with the ambience of the occupied urban setting, speaking soldiers that die shortly after, and feeling of technically superior hardware of the Covenant. Those Pelicans need better AWACS though, hah!
Seeing the Spartans work in tandem with the ODST using real world tactics is beyond refreshing. As one user put it, its like infantry working in tandem with armored vehicles and it makes so much damn sense in that context.
It's freaking amazing how good SODAZ makes these. This is just publicly available assets and audio, and the sheer level of production skills brings it up to a higher level than a lot of "professional" shows.
As usual this man does phenomenal work. He literally did more, lore accurate, beautifully choreographed, and action packed in 5 minutes than the show did its entire season. If I were in charge I'd hire this guy immediately
God it's the small details that make the frame. I love the weapons functionality, weak points on certain vehicles and armor, and the love and craft put into the tactics and use of Spartans. But beyond all that you showed humanity fighting as one hand, one heart, and one sword against the Covenant. That's the one aspect of beauty that I think only Halo CE and Reach could show was that the marines, airman, ODST, and Naval men were just as important as the Spartans. The orbital dog fight transitioning to landfall and then to urban combat. Just everything, I hope your proud of your craft my good friend because we all sure are.
I loved the space battle part, in just a few seconds you managed to show the entire dynamic of space combat during the human covenant war, Human ships can deal damage in large quick MAC barrages but the covenant weapons eat through them like butter. AWESOME STUFF!!
This is it. This is what Halo fans have been daydreaming for years. You’ve singlehandedly done what massive corporate forces couldn’t do. You’ve captured the essence of why we love this universe. Not for profit, not for social justice, but for pure love of the material. THANK YOU! I hope to see more of your work soon!!
This was what I wanted to see in Reach. The explanation on why the UNSC was losing. Here is a line of UNSC ships giving the Covenant a broadside, and the Covenant ships shake it off and proceed to blow up all the UNSC frigates.
This is a really accurate representation of canon. UNSC ships fall like dominos to Covenant tech. God, I wish we had more games like Reach. I miss that military fiction feel in Halo so much.
The weapons feel like they have so much power behind them, the warthog's chaingun is pure carnage! Everything is so lore accurate and grounded irl its great.
This animation, down to the smallest details is the single best creation I've ever seen. I love the accurate depictions of likely strategies, clever use of real in-game sound effects and more. Absolutely fan-fucking-tastic.
This is brilliant. The space battle, actions, sounds and movement was fantastic! Loved how soldiers on both sides interact with each other either giving orders or battle cries. 343 should hire you. You make great battle scenes.
You got the perfect touch for the ambientation and the animation you can see the hope that the spartans inspire when they arrive to help the troops on the planet, your doing a great job keep it up!
Just one spartan got in the warthog. Which means that the other 4 spartans kept up with them on foot… they sprinted at the same pace as a warthog… that’s badass
You know that Sodaz is dedicated to his work when each character is unique. The attention to detail is fantastic. I've never been disapointed by your work. Keep up the good work dude!
One of the things I appreciate about the scenario is the use of the Spartans as assault troops. It's something I've thought about myself when considering how the crappy Halo show should've really used them, with UNSC troops doing most of the fighting, ODSTs akin to modern special forces, and the Spartans being something that doesn't directly translate to modern warfare - they have shields, armour, speed strength that lets them literally walk into enemy fire, something no infantry today can do. They'd very likely be used as infantry-sized tanks, creating a miniature armoured spearhead just like tanks do on a larger scale, with regular troops as infantry support to prevent them getting outflanked, and that's more or less how they're used in the second half of this video!
Yes, very much agree. They're designed to leverage maximum power to a high value target, or crack a tough nut that will collapse the enemy force. They're a strategic asset as opposed to a tactical one.
Exactly. The easiest way to explain it is what I would have said to Keyes in Halo CE if he could hear me in the rescue mission. "Stay behind the half ton of walking armour. It's safer."
I rarely comment on videos. But my mind is way to blown to even comprehend how this is possible. One of the most amazing animations I’ve ever seen. Zero idea how this much talent can be in one person. Bravo!!
This is simply amazing. I love how everything seems so much more realistic, and almost how I would imagine the different factions and sub-factions would act and move in live action, or how I imagine them in the Halo novels. The Jackals are very nimble and deadly, ODSTs are more experienced and confident in combat than regular Marines, and Spartans and Elites move lightning fast in h2h combat making super awesome fighting scenes. Well done, don't stop making these.
Wow. You can tell how much love really went into this, because this is amazing. Its absolutely perplexing on how fan film can be more entertaining and overall just better than a professionally made Tv show. This captures almost everything that is halo and its crazy. I love every little detail you put in even though it probably wouldn't have been necessary, it shows the extra mile that the creator is willing to go for a project they are Really Passionate about. Even if its not finished id already consider it a master piece. Awesome job SODAZ, you got some Amazing Talent.
The best part about this to me is the weight the Spartans have as they move/land/shoot/etc. You really captured just how heavy they are in full armor. This whole thing is awesome, well done!
Holy hell, man. This is probably the BEST Series of Halo animations I have seen from an independent animator! This is also absolutely amazing, and I love every second of it! I absolutely can't wait to see more from you, this is fucking amazing stuff!
This is simply incredible. The sound work absolutely floored me, and the animation is exquisite. The lighting is solid, but feels a bit flat in the city, I think mostly because of the difference in assets between all the props and the environment. Is this keyframe or mocap animated? The choreography is simply stunning, and the camera work adds to it beautifully.
This is absolutely stunning! You’ve managed to encapsulate everything that halo is so well within this short film. The graphics, animation, special effects and everything else were done so well. Great work.
what a masterpice! I love that you show that both sides take losses. it's just so much more dynamic than that stupid paramount halo series !!! Keep up the good Work

This almost 6 min animation has done Halo more justice than that trash Halo TV show will ever do in 10 years of development. Now that's respect to source material
These are assets and models of the GAME. He is not even working with his designs, interpretations or remakes. What is more impressive is that he is doing a work in progress far better than a 200 million dollar budget. This has more drama, action, better narrative and development with characters that DON'T say a single word about the universe. This speaks volumes about how rich the halo universe is. HIS work is simply amazing. The camera movements, the sounds, coordination and the COOPERATION of spartan teams provides a great sense of immersion. THIS has tactical accuracy and shows off WHY the covenant had the upper hand in these fights. It is an exceptional work. It teaches 343i how to illustrate the world of Halo. I’m absolutely loving every bit of this, the attention to detail is outstanding, the breathing from the ODST’s the fact that they actually stacked into a line and when the DMR was picked up his finger wasn’t on the trigger yet, the fact that you made the grenade launcher activate and flip up the sight was fucking brilliant, can’t wait to see all of it in it’s glory.
This accurately captured in ,5 minutes, more elements of Halo than a whole season of poorly written TV garbage.
SODAZ, your skills as an animator is only rivaled with your skills at being a director.
Both are beyond incredible.
Keep up the great work!
The Assault Rifle is the one from Halo Infinite and not from Halo Reach, bet nobody has noticed that

@@studiosdraco301 It's painfully obvious even if they didn't mention that fact.
Everything about that show is like someone who did about 10mins of scrolling through the Halo franchise and overwrote it with their weird AU ideas. (I wouldn't be surprised if this was the actual case)
The tactics that were used are amazingly done. Using the Spartans as a tank with ODST behind to support. Really goes to show the depth of knowledge SODAZ has of the Halo Universe.
Dont forget the covenant tactics as well. One example of a jackal using his teammates shield as he picks off marines with his carbine
@@josemgarcia141 Facts! The covenant definitely were shown properly through their brutality.

They are, in my most humble opinion, the least qualified individuals.... and that's the root of the problem, people that are unqualified are the ones that are making the calls, and I would say it is also in issue in lower-level management as well
Exactly. No artist or writer works so hard to get to a professional skill level and break into these industries with the intent of producing garbage.
Especially and somewhat ironically, the biggest IPs get the worst treatment as they usually get the biggest investment
@@blacklight2888 you're very naïve

This is really well done. It feels incredibly realistic and I can’t wait to see more halo content :)
The Reach art style really lends itself to this animation, it compliments the outstanding animation work you've put in also, keep up the awesome work!
We are blessed to have you in the Halo community SODAZ. Keep up the good work dude!
I love how much character there is in each Spartan: the Gungnir with the uparmored chest piece and Commando shoulder pads is close quarters and demolitions, the Scout with Jun’s armor is the sniper and the Commando is your general, multi-purpose loadout. Amazing detail
This is absolutely incredible
I especially love how you manage to portray the Spartans as more human in this
They feel more like they're just BETTER soldiers vs some far removed godly beings that're more than men, it's kinda like 'As ODSTS, we're good, but the Spartans are the best in our group'
Can't wait to see this when it's done (and if any postprocessing goes in to add more effects later on, this is gonna be fucking unreal)
Keep up the amazing work
Spartan IIIs and some Spartan IIs had easier times getting along with infantry but really the divide is there
Probably the best Halo machinima animation since Monty Oum. Well done!
The city set is very reminiscent of Monty Om
May he rest in peace.
@@beltempest4448 Monty tend to use entire set pieces directly from Halo, like the The Sarcophagus

absolutely insane what you have been able to do solo.. its both depressing to see how poorly official halo content is being handled rn, but inspiring seeing the incredible talent that is able to produce actually incredible Halo content. Keep up the fantastic work
LOL. HOLY Shit I was about to say the same thing, It is both depressing and inspiring to see this and see what people with money do to the franchise. One can only hope Halo will have justice.
Same guys.
Microsoft give us questionable media content and then I see stuff like this. What this man could do with support and a budget!
What I like most is that each of the Spartan armors fit Each role they’re in
Recon’s sniper so it’s sleek
Gungnir’s the heavy weapons so he’s the chunky equal to Jorge
Grenadier’s simply Rocket Man
the ODST armored one i assume to be a newly “created” one so he joined as the “rookie” but kept his ODST roots
And there’s Pilot, being an actual pilot
It’s so simple but it’s just great
I still think being vehicle operators is a waste of their talents.
@@djcuevas1057 well then again, youre in a middle of a gunfight on vehicles and you have a spartan and yourself

Marines, odst, covenant, spartans, large battles, more action less talk, sick soundtracks and other good things, the fact a 100 million dollar budget studio couldn't get this right is offensively astonishing
impressive. as a soldier, the way of fighting for the odst and marines are pretty good! of course the spartan can act like a tank. but they are not stupid they take cover sometimes (in the tv show, they do weird movements)
I would go "HIRE THIS MAN!" But after what happened with the WH0k stuff........instead support this man on patreon! This is some good shit!

Yeah, its nice that the marines aren't total pushovers, its just that they're not equipped to handle plasma bolts and shields
5:43 I really appreciate your attention to detail: When the Spartans enter the scene, there’s that abrupt and subtle shake to the camera whereas when the ODST’s enter there’s none at all. Gotta love those small things to really feel the atmosphere of the setting! 🥃
Wow
I can only imagine if he does Star wars, especially clone wars
Damm boys, if this is only the half of the video, I can't imagine how good the full one will be
Truly at a loss for words. As a kid, I would daydream this kind of stuff in my head. Now I'm seeing someone actually create it themselves. The set pieces, animations, sound design, everything... It's pretty much flawless. And the fact that it's ONE GUY doing all this? Mind-blowing. Seriously man, this is nothing short of phenomenal!
man I love seeing Spartans and ODST's working together. something we never get enough of in any other halo media
It's got all of the familiar look of Reach, but every gunshot, footstep, movement, and explosion just has so much of a solid impact behind it. The battle scenes have a lot of push and pull, making them so much more dynamic. Such a great job. Incredibly satisfying.
I felt like this was a half hour long movie. Can’t believe there’s still more to cover. I hope the quality stays as awesome in your future animations.
6 minutes long, incomplete and already better than the HALO TV show.
my skid marked undies are better than the halo show it's not hard to do better
@@jimbothegymbro7086 LMAO, was going to comment something related to my waste product, but yeah, Paramount is garbage
WOW! What a feast for the senses. You bring the world of Halo to life. Well done.
Honestly a thousand times better than any Halo Infinite cutscene. Awesome job SODAZ and can’t wait to see more from you in the future!
I’m really impressed by this, including the small details. Like how the screen shakes when Spartans are walking close to the camera.
He even made the ammo counters functional, not even the HBO show bothered to do that.

I'm very excited to see this completed! Fantastic work!
The amount of dedication, effort and skill poured into this is outstanding, brilliant work.
You know it's good shit when even the Wroks in progress look fuckin sweet.
I absolutely love how the weapons have their own animations like the barrel of the brute shot moving back and forth every time it shoots
Its been amazing watching this come to fruition. Your work is genuinely inspirational
Incredible work! This flows a lot like Halo combat does in game. Smart use of dialogue and gore effects too.
The weapons feel like they have so much power behind them, the warthog's chaingun is pure carnage! Everything is so lore accurate and grounded irl its great.
Now this is what the halo TV show should have been like
The quality of the stuff you put out is always getting better and better! cant wait to see the full video!

Holy shit the quality, sound and cinematography is absolutely mind blowing
U already had me with the space battle absolutely love this keep up the great work.
You got the perfect touch for the ambientation and the animation you can see the hope that the spartans inspire when they arrive to help the troops on the planet, your doing a great job keep it up!
I love the movement in this. It's all done so well and you can really see the effort.
This is incredible, seriously this is exactly what halo battles should look like. I love the nods to halo 2, especially in the animations.
Just one spartan got in the warthog. Which means that the other 4 spartans kept up with them on foot… they sprinted at the same pace as a warthog… that’s badass
Once again SODAZ delivers and doesn't disappoint!
Loved it! THIS Should've been the Halo series
Awesome work! Your passion for Halo and animating really shines through.
This is amazing. I have always wanted to see a typical engagement with the covenant. This exactly how I picture the Spartans getting down to business.
Half way and it's so good keep up the good work
This is simply incredible.
Great work.
It’s refreshing to see Spartans actually being Spartans
This is what I’ve always dreamed of Halo being like
what a masterpice! I love that you show that both sides take losses. it's just so much more dynamic than that stupid paramount halo series !!! Keep up the good Work
I don’t know about everybody else but this is amazing work. The atmosphere was amazing and really sucked me back into the halo experience. I didn’t even realize that those 5 minutes when by so quickly. Amazing work, definitely sub,
I'm annoyed I'm only finding this now this is what halo should be
This almost 6 min animation has done Halo more justice than that trash Halo TV show will ever do in 10 years of development. Now that's respect to source material
tus videos son sinceramente increíbles.
Better than the fully funded tv show
Spartans, but Lore Accurate strength at 2:24
These are assets and models of the GAME.
It teaches multi million franchises how to make a BETTER work with less.
Amazing isn't it?
