Great video, I was able to get the fan out clean it with an air compressor, lube the barring. Was great for a solid week and then the noise came back. Wanted to share that it's ideal to replace the fan as this will only buy you maybe a week or so. Also with it being in a laptop, my other HP folio 9480m died as I left the laptop in the cold car over night and upon booting the fan was grinding so loud the fan gave out. This is the second Laptop identical and the same issue is occurring. I ended up buying a replacement fan on Amazon. Again great video on how to get the fan out easily.
    Thanks for posting the video

@@khcomputers again amazing video, it really helped on getting the fan out. I just wanted to share with others in the same situation that they will likley need to replace the fan. Otherwise the fan will seize and the bios will cause the system to shut down to prevent over heating.
      Awesome video!

My fan completely died but I thought it was strange that it just continued working for 9 hours the through out the day. I'm right now in the process of waiting for a replacement fan with heat sink to come in the mail that I bought on ebay. I'm new to laptop , so i've been watching videos on how to take apart the entire housing layers just to replace the fan.

@@khcomputers actually I could use some advice. I read online it's best to replace the fan and heatsink when replacing the fan. I also learned I needed that thermal paste. Since it probably already has some, can I just add a small line on top of what it has or do I need to clean it off to apply a new paste? Also I'm scared as this is my first time tinkering with a laptop, can you do a video of how to go about removing the sections to get to the fan motherboard area?

@@khcomputers I finally got my replacement fan and heat sink in the mail yesterday. I installed the new one but it's not working. I even spun it a few times while the laptop was on no effect. Not sure if the fan is dead or possibly the motherboard connection to the fan.

@@khcomputers I'd rather not buy a new fan to test it. Are there any further steps I can take?

I guess you are cleaning the fan with something like alcohol, and you are reassembling the fan using glue, right??
