When you join Costco they want you to know it's Costco. They don't disguise themselves as other names.
Yes and I will happily wear my Kirkland sweater 😂
Costco also doesn't have a problem with you reselling the stuff you buy at Costco. Many small businesses depend on reselling from bulk purchases.
The Bulk Store (aka Costco) lmao
@@acatnamedm4529 Yup. I see loads of people shopping for items for their food carts and small restaurants (e.g. canned beverages).
right? and they don't have random people going around trying to recruit people to be a member of costco, their prices and such do it for them
"no middleman" says the middleman 😂
THIS!! 😂😂😂😂
Also " we don't sell anything " says the salespeople 😂
😂😂😂
@@-xxMelissaxx-and also them labeling themselves are marketers with teams which is the MLM acronym while trying to say they are not an MLM. 😂
Right?! 😂
I love that Hannah has retained her teacher voice 😂 “What I am hearing is… and that wasn’t my question.”
It was perfection
My mom bought Melaleuca products from her friend when I was a kid to help her financially, but she never signed up with her. I LOVE their products. My MIL passed away in March 2024. She was signed up with Melaleuca. At the end of March, her next shipment was due, and they were harassing her phone because the payment failed on her upcoming shipment. After the company had emailed her and called her several times, the rep she signed up under finally called and left a msg. I called her back to let her know my MIL had passed away and her response was SHE REQUIRED PROOF OF DEATH to be able to cancel the shipment my MIL was contractually bound to pay for. That was it for me. Never again.
😮 WTH
WTH 🤦🏻♀️ never
That's so gross omg...

I'm still not used to these RUclips emojis lmao
Hahaha so true.

How do you get those RUclips emojis?

"We're not sales people, we're marketers, therefore we can't be an MLM!" what.... what do they think the second 'M' stands for??????
😂
Yea they are marketers, a multi-level marketer lol
No, they are multi-generational marketers. MGM. Not MLM. Beeeeeg difference.

Yessss, I had the same reaction 😂 had me fist pumping and shit lol 😆
Re watching after finding out that Melaleuca sent Hannah a cease & desist 😂
What!?
"Contact my manager" followed by Zeke meowing just proves my theory that the cat is the management
you might be on to something tbh 🤔
"Meow" translates to "I told you 3 weeks ago that I'm taking a break!" in cat HR speak.
Zeke: " It sounds pretty scammy to me."
Cats always have it under control, even though they sometimes might seem chaotic... Cats rule

Precisely 😂 let’s stay on topic 👏🏼
@@HannahAlonzo Reminded me of a Ted Koppel interview from decades ago. The interviewee deflected a direct simple question at least 6 times. Each time Koppel responded with something like, "Thank you for your response, but you STILL haven't answered the queston" and would ask the question yet again. After one last deflection Koppel stated (and I've never heard another interviewer do this) "SO, you're obviously not going to answer the question" and then moved to the next question before the interviewee could respond. Deflection, especially repeated, makes the actual truth very clear.
I once heard a uni professor say about essays, "Don't answer YOUR question, answer MY question." Also relevant here.
They would make great politicians.
@@krixkhaos Oh that's a good one! I really like that! Thank you for sharing that!!
I just realized how to shut down their argument of "the corporate world is a pyramid too" - Just say: Pyramid Scheme doesn't refer to the structure of the personnel; it refers to the structure of the money.
Oooohhh, good one! Definitely saving that to memory.
Omg why could i never figure out how to put that into words! That's perfect
The funniest thing about their whole "American patriot - *EAGLE SCREECH*" branding is that Melaleuca is a plant native to Australia and Malaysia and has caused a HUGE problem as an invasive plant in South Florida. So much so, that at one point my dad worked for a company that specialized in getting rid of Melaleuca plants in public parks and similar properties here in South Florida.
It’s so ironic that they named the company after a plant that is invasive as they are
No fucking way! That's hilarious!
"EAGLE SCREECH" 🤣💀
😂😂😂
Not the 🦅 🦅 🦅 😭 😂
I love how they targeted you as a “military wife influencer” and immediately made the leap to “American patriot audience” as if that landing page isn’t the cringiest possible tactic 😂
The way they are really manipulating the whole USA patriot American product BS is really wild and so cringey.
The preppers and homesteaders 🤔 eek.
Oh god as if America’s troops, veterans, and their families don’t have enough to deal with 🙄 (the physical danger, issues with the VA, etc), of course MLMs want to exploit them too
I'm laughing in Canadian 😂
That's why they made the MURICA funnel page lolol. If they looked into her for a second they would know they shouldn't be offering her anything 😅
GIRL you 1. accepting the meeting and recording it and 2. fully cutting through the ramblings to bring said meeting back to your original questions and points on how the company is reflective of an MLM was very inspiring as someone who avoids confrontation at all costs and would have no guts to do this. I actively gasp-laughed many times 😂
Thank you for the background entertainment while I cook dinner! Cheers!
Yeah I am the same as you. I cannot even watch it without cringing (this is not criticism towards Hannah!).
It's not hard once you get used to doing it and stop giving a damn, lol. It's amazing how much bs you can cut through and time you can save, then!
@@qcp974 I aspire to achieve this one day (soon hopefully 😅😅)
She’s so badass for this! I would be a nervous mess
The Editor did a really good job.
I have to say it's pretty ballsy to try and sell an MLM to an anti-MLMer.
The argument of "we're not MLM because we don't want to be MLM" is the toddler type of energy I've come to expect from Frank Vandersloot (Melaleuca's founder).
Also the fact a Canadian is running an American Patriots funnel website is the type of disingenuous behavior amplified in MLMs.
“I was in other MLMs before and this one’s not” is the catchphrase for all huns 😂
I get so much secondhand embarrassment from that line! Translation: “I’ve fallen for a bunch of scams before, but THIS thing I’m in now is totally the greatest and not a scam at all. You can trust me on this due to my extensive experience with falling for other similar scams. I would never make the same mistake a sixth time!”
Um…telling people up front about all the times you’ve fallen for this crap…miiiight not be the best argument that they should have faith in your judgement now. 😂
She still is !
My confusion is how they have been thru other mlms before and can't draw parallels to the NEW one they're in?? The "convincing" 16 pages and graph are not enough to combat that in my mind!
"Some will cat it petty, I call it ✨research✨" is literally my new life motto
I think we might need this on a shirt 😂
This is going to ruin their tour
I struggled watching this because of “second hand…shyness” I’ll call it. I’m so in awe of you of how well you handled this. And how brave you were to even do it. My heart was pounding imaging being in your shoes. You were so confident and well spoken. I’m very impressed!
What a video! Absolute gold !
she genuinely believes in her content and it shows ❤
Exactly!
Fremdschämen 😅
Same here! 😅 I had to look away from the video at times and distract myself with something else. I hate confrontation, even gentle and respectful confrontation like what Hannah did. I admire her so much for this!
I had to puse a couple times because I was getting overwhelmed! My non confrontational self couldn’t handle someone else’s confrontation lol. It was so amazing how Hannah handled herself and kept circling back to her unanswered questions. Goals.
It is absolutely wild to me that they thought this was a good idea
I CANNOT believe they did this
it’s CRAZY-they knew you made anti-MLM content and thought you’d be on board.
Or they didn't know until she mentioned her channel which is even worse 🤣
It's like when creators in the sustainability sphere get offers from brands like Temu
Because melaleuca thinks their not an MLM 😂
Because they drunk on their own coolaid of not being MLM

i was so confusedd lmaooo. and i see now that its in the title of the vid lmao but listen, i see hannah's face and just click haha
I was like “NOOOO!” 😂
I read the title and I was like did they actually change?
The idea of a company that throws away tons of unsold product every month instead of donating it is sickeningly wasteful. I've volunteered at animal shelters, food banks, enrichment centers, homeless and DV shelters that would have been grateful for free cleaning supplies.
Yes, where are they dumping it😢
@@spunkycat6144no where- they are using the stuff. Who throws away product’s that are still usable. What kind of a company trying to make profits would do this (unless spoiled goods).
Such a LIE!
It’s an excuse to explain why they have to buy points each month- they need CASH TO BUY FRESH STUFF- you can’t buy fresh stuff on credit
Unless the ingredients are spoiled there is no way a company trying to make profits would throw away product’s that are still usable.
Oh my gosh I want those tea tree oil products!! I would buy it from their website…
... Maybe not their products, though.
"You do not strategically withhold the name of your company unless you have something to hide"
YES, that!! No legit company would ever want to do that because your whole goal is to build brand recognition!
That Melaleuca rep just conducted a masterclass in saying a lot of things while saying nothing.
She is fluent in Word Salad.
And she talks sloooowwww as he!!!!! 😂
I was soooo lost. She would not stop talking and when she finally did stop, I had no idea what she said!

Former customer here: they have a 96% customer retention rate because it's actually kind of a pain to cancel. When you decide to cancel your membership, you have to print out a form (from a link that you can only get from customer service) and either email a scanned copy or snail mail it back to them.
I also noticed the price of their products climbed but the point value did not, so you had to spend MORE to maintain your membership, on top of the annual membership fee.
Right-and I had to write an explanation
My husband used to work in the call center in collections and he told people to send it by certified mail so it’d have a paper trail.
I was a member too. It is a pain to get out the membership. Most people just don’t cancel their membership.
I tried it. Was allergic to the soaps and shampoos. And I did have to print a form and email it in. But I had no issues with them cancelling. Maybe they’ve had too many complaints on this?
I had so much trouble getting out.
Commenting again after seeing that Melaleuca really went it tried it with a cease and desist. Melaleuca, girl, if the shoe fits just wear it!
Melaleuca Rep: “we’re like Costco”
Hannah: but Costco doesn’t have a minimum purchase requirement each month
Rep: “I agree”
This is what pisses me off the most about them. They have some great products. But the amount they make you "commit" to spending is insane.
The mental gymnastics to try to get around calling a set up where you sign people up under you and you make a portion of what they buy an MLM is insane. Moreover, the amount of people you need to sign up to even BEGIN making money is insane.
You need at least 25 people before you even cover your own monthly spending commitment!
I have never rolled my eyes so hard until she said the landing page was designed for American patriots 🤦🏼♀️🥴🙄
I was thinking dumb or manipulative or dishonest up to that comment. Turned into REVULSION.
I mentioned that too 😂. Like, bish, what in the hell? As an American, we ALL know how to just go online and buy our own items! We don't need referrals and specific links for someone to get a commission. In fact, that makes things harder!
That is some serious right-wing buzzword salad BS right thereand they real ass thought Hannah would believe that crap. 😆

"They pay cash for their ingredients, so they need to know how much they're going to pay each month." What? Lol
as someone who hates confrontation and suffer from severe second hand embarrassment, this call is so watchable because you're so logical and respectful with them. They handle it pretty well too to be honest (though hilarious that they withheld the recording afterward lol)
Same. It's so helpful to learn these techniques to get out of situations when the freeze response kicks in.
The zoom is pure gold; and asking them to record for you was genius, makes them happy to seem willing whilst assuming that they would have control not to send it, when that permission to be recorded is not one sided.
These reps look REALLY dumb for clearly not looking up any of Hannah’s past videos about Melaleuca and also the fact they just assumed she wasn’t going to record on her end? 😂
They got what they asked for!
I bet they thought they were so smart by promising her the recording with the clear intention of never actually sending it... :D
But is agreeing to be recorded also covering the recording being published? I mean I loved watching the video, just don't want Hanna to get into trouble
@@brenttaylor2823 They didn't say that she couldn't publish the recording... It is her recording, she can do what she likes with it. But I bet the fact that she did this video will make them hopping mad! It might teach them to be more careful who they approach in future.
Mama didn’t raise no fool 😂 I love it.
This is the first time I’m hearing a point for point response to the Costco comparison. That was INCREDIBLY well done, and your calm and confident tone of voice make it impactful.
Their products can't be stored long term.... which means they are the exact opposite of what preppers and doomsdayers would find useful in outfitting their bunkers.
Was thinking the same thing.
Hannah for Oscar nomination! How did you avoid rolling your eyes, especially when you learned she was a CPA?!
Riiiiight?
RIGHT! Agree! Don't know HOW she kept from rolling her eyes, or doing knowing sidelong glances at the camera every other minute the palaver was spewing out of these women's mouths.
The lower level woman may have been dumb and deluded, but you can't convince me the CPA doesn't know what she's doing. But then again, she DID push for an anti-MLM channel to promote them, so it's possible she really is just that dumb. But more likely has the hubris to think Hannah is. Sorry 'Alice', Hannah is ONE SMART COOKIE.
Must not be a good one if she supposedly ran the numbers (looked at the Melaluca compensation plan) and thought that qas a more lucrative "career" or even side-hustle than being a CPA.
I would not have been able to handle this with such grace
A CPA who has been involved in multiple MLMs? I'll pass.
Girl the way you conduct yourself on the zoom call 💯💯💯 definitely takes balls!
Being a non confrontational person this is so satisfying!
My thoughts exactly! As a people pleaser I would have had to pretend I was falling for it during the call and just ghost them afterwards or something 😂
Was absolutely the best way about it- like she was 100% realistic and truthful but also kind with the words.
My thoughts exactly! Taking mental notes how to be good at confrontation
Nailed it!!!❤❤❤
Came here to say this ❤
“Love your content. Keep doing what you’re doing, it’s awesome”
10 days later
* tracks her down to serve cease and desist *
Melaleuca is the crumb trail that led me to the anti-MLM community. I never joined it, but my grandmother was with them and she gave up the last heathy years of her life busting her butt, hoping to leave something behind for her grandchildren because Melaleuca fooled her into believing that this was her own business. When she passed away, they sent flowers. Nobody from her team showed up to her funeral. The business that she had been alluding to for ages ghosted my dad after he tried to find out why they had convinced her that she was surely leaving a flourishing business behind for him to adopt. It added so much stress to an already heartbreaking bereavement. In my grief, I chose to look at them as something to be angry about. And although they were not responsible for her passing, after all I learned about MLMs they deserve that anger.
"Love your content. Keep doing what you're doing!"
You sure, girl? Are you sure you love her content? Lol
These huns are confused I think
I remember I was serving at an event that was for melaleuca. They tried to get me to join, I said no thank you, then the lady began berating my job, asking why I wasn’t in school, and basically telling me how I was a failure at life. I cried. I was 19
😢 you are not a failure! You were working!
You were not a failure, you dodged a pyramid scheme!
Being a server at 19 beats being trapped in an MLM. No tears here, chickie- you are NOT a failure. You are young and the world is your oyster.
Being a failure looks like berating a 19 year old for NOT being naive.
You were doing better than them even at 19 by having a job that actually paid you
Projection, you not joining makes her a failure..
Ahh, the classic gaslighting move . . . choosing to go off on a tangent in an attempt to evade the initial question 😂
I cringed several times during the call, but you handled it so well. The fact that they were so adamant about hosting the call, and to have it backfire so badly 😭
You’ve got some nerves mama
52:17 Umm excuse me, if my laundry detergent isn't freshly picked that morning, I am NOT buying it 🙅🏽♀️
You made me go straight up 'huehuehue' 😀
Seriously. The comment you’re paying for things sitting on the shelf at Costco, are you trying to tell me that you throw everything in the inventory away every 5 weeks at Melaluca? Because that’s literally an insane claim.
I bet that they have to throw it out every five weeks because it’s not shelf stable 😂😂😂
non-gmo, grassfed, locally sourced detergent only!!
only my free range laundry detergent!
Watching you explain why all of their examples of not being an MLM are wrong is SO satisfying. You say these things in every video, but hearing you say them directly to MLM huns and hearing them try to refute it is so fascinating!
The spin tactics would give even my washer a headache 😂. The most they could come up with is, "It has some elements of an MLM, yeah". There's more than just a faint resemblance, sweetie, the main hallmarks of an MLM are there! If their only defense is that it's not an MLM because it doesn't directly copy and paste itself from other companies word for word, their bar is absolutely on the ground when it comes to their understanding (or rather, willingness to admit) to Melaluca being an MLM.
But they fully know what they're doing. To the link for "Alice", to hiding the name of Melaluca on the referral website, to the "Whoopsie!" of the recording being deleted because it proved everything Hannah has been saying about MLM's...they are fully aware that they're being deceitful. Gross. Absolutely gross.
My sister was pushing melaluka. She quickly gave up on it because it IS a mlm. Plus, it's way more expensive than getting tea tree oil yourself.
Saw your Instagram story so just re-watched this episode. You know your speaking truth when they threaten to sue you. Keep up the good work
I just recently left Melalucca. I was not aware of the fact that they were an MLM until I started watching your videos, thank heavens I did. It was costing me around a 150.00 a month to meet my 35 pts. I just did the cancel and it is not easy you have to download a form and then sign it and send it back to the company and hope that it will cancel before the month is over. I am not sure you know that if you do not go and select things you want they have a backup that they will send you at your expense to help you stay a member. I struggled to find things to buy. Thank you for all you do. I am a creating an email with my horrors of the many MLMs I have been involved with .
I just canceled a gym membership today that tried to charge me for two whole extra months because they wanted 30 day notice 😂 this narciss- i mean capitalistic society is riddled with word salad jargon and lee gall ease loopholes. They subconsciously prep* it in the standardized tests!
If they charge you, issue a charge back with your bank or cc company. If they get too many charge backs, they bank or cc company won't authorize charges to their business.
I recently did the same thing. Truthfully, I DID like Melalueca’s products, but I knew I was wasting money when I was just putting random things in my cart to meet the product points. ALSO, loyalty dollars can’t be used until AFTER product points are met, so that’s kind of a scam too. My mom is still with them (she signed up under me…I never made more than $20 commission) and will occasionally buy me the stuff I miss, and it helps her reach the product points too. (Not technically allowed by Melalueca, but who cares)
These comments really opened my eyes to see how I shouldnt join Melaluca, so thank you!
Yes! I forgot about that. I was in it for just a couple weeks 3 or 4 years ago! It was a headache to cancel.
I feel sorry for these reps. Not because of what Hannah did, but just because being caught in an MLM is so stressful and just... I hope these ladies are able to turn their lives around and find the financial stability and personal integrity that they need.
That’s sweet, I agree.
My thoughts exactly, ehhh. This is sheer feeding off of somebody's vulnerability? to the maximum. I don't know how to word it now, but you surely know what I mean. Ehhh :( It's pure stress because it's such a dissonance ;(
I'M DYING! I could've written the entire Zoom call (from their end) and you being like, "That's not the question I asked" ☆mic drop☆
Your ability to NOT roll your eyes on this call is astounding. Kudos. 👏 My poker face is not that good
What a coincidence! I ran into a Melaleuca rep this weekend. She was NOT happy when I told her about the RUclips channel I run! LMAO!
Is your name Lucy then (based on your @)?. My 10yo daughter is a Lucy too. 😊
@@mamasunshine83 Nice!! I certainly didnt know anyone my age named Lucy growing up,
The “freshness” argument rubbed me the wrong way as someone who is bothered by “clean” and “all natural” marketing spin because it felt like just saying “we don’t use appropriate preservatives to ensure our products are safe and stable so you will need to throw them out all the time”
Struck me as wasteful. If it's also such a huge positive point, why was "Alice" not aware of it for so long until she went to some random conference?
Same to me- the "freshness of the product" absolutely reads as them being wasteful. Yech!
I just thought of this, if their ingredients have such a short shelf life, how long do they products last? It stands to reason that customers need to throw things out after a month or two if they aren’t shelf stable. Planned obsolescence.
Annnnnd ... where's the PROOF they throw product in the garbage???? GEE ... someone that's promoting an MLM saying it's not an MLM ... and you just believe and promote any bs that comes out of this corporate mouthpiece?
I know Hannah was going after different issues to highlight, but think she missed a golden opportunity to ask, "And can you PROVE that ... that they trash 'thousands' of dollars in product every month?" and then just hear the line go crickets. Would have been hilarious.
It sounds EXTREMELY WASTEFUL!!!
I'm watching this again after hearing you got a Cease and Desist letter, you go girl
My takeaways:
- Brags about product freshness, but is marketing to preppers, who usually stock up for long periods of time
- I caught the description "vertical." It's not a downline, it's a vertical.
😂😂
You just know a bunch of huns got together and thought. "Lets try and trick an anti MLM channel into supporting an MLM. Wouldn't that be so funny and so clever" 🤦♀️
FAIL!
Knowing their mental gymnastics, they'll find some way to spin this on their own channels. 🤦
Honestly it’s kinda clever. Like the idea of an mlm is appealing. Easy to make money from home with flexible hours and the ability to not be a slave to your job??? Like sign me up! But then you look into it and it’s just a scam.
If there was a way to have an mlm type job without the icky scam cult stuff then yeah I’d be on that but there isn’t. These ladies thought they had the answer a lot of us might have wanted. Many people in the anti mlm space are ex mlmers who DID sign up wanting that dream so in a way are susceptible to a “non mlm mlm!” Kind of thing.
They didn't seem to be aware that it's anti MLM channel. I'm kind of wondering if someone in their downline saw the light and thought it would be funny to put the Hannah Alonzo channel on their mailing list as a "Patriotic Military Wife Channel" that it would be worth reaching out to.
No wonder she deleted the recorded zoom call. Did the zoom call show her face?
The first woman sounds like a nice lady that just drank the kool aid. She genuinely doesn’t realize she’s still in an MLM.
I hope she gets out
They don't even let their consultants say the name of the company on their social media posts and videos where they try to sell and recruit. It's wild 😂
I’m so confused, because isn’t the SELLING OF PRODUCTS what supposedly makes an MLM not a pyramid scheme? That’s how they stay legit, by claiming selling the products is a legitimate way to make money. If melaleuca is saying that their reps are NOT selling, that literally just makes them a pyramid scheme.
The risk they took was calculated, but man, are they bad at math.
I will never give up my contact info for the privilege of WAITING for someone to sign me up for a website I can't see so that they can get commission off me.
Bad at math like most MLMers are
Tbf, if you're stopping to do the math, you probably aren't the type to take the risk.
I could go on a tangent about how we need a better education system to make math less scary, but I'll save it.
Facts
That chart was insane. They created a false definition of what an MLM is (a strawman) and then proceeded to dismantle this false definition. They then distract (Red Herring) by showing other information to keep the viewer from knowing what an MLM actually is so they don't figure out that's EXACTLY what they are. And THEN explain their compensation plan... ***which is structured exactly like an MLM.***
Incredible. They say MLM but... in the words of Inigo Montoya... "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
Oh goodness! I was like you know about the strawman?? I’ve been on your channel before a WHILE ago I’ll check your channel out. AND you used to be a new-ager and have come to Christ, same! That’s when i saw your videos before, when i was being deceived just before accepting Christ Yahusha Ha’Maschiac (aka Jesus Christ the Messiah) in FEB 2020 at 21. I also just revisited a couple other (A.D. and L.o.A.) channels from that space for some reason a couple of days ago 🤔
““What do you think? If a man has a hundred sheep, and one of them gets lost, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the mountain and go in search of the one that is lost? [Luke 15:4-7] And if it turns out that he finds it, I assure you and most solemnly say to you, he rejoices over it more than over the ninety-nine that did not get lost. So it is not the will of your Father who is in heaven that one of these little ones be lost.”
Matthew 18:12-14 AMP
You killed my father…
YEESS 😂👏
Hi, Melissa! So cool to see you here! I’ve been watching both you and Hannah for years!
@@jocelynnelsonyes me too! 2 of my favorite RUclipsrs!
I was in Melaleuca twice (I've long since repented). One day I compared their expensive shampoo with "better/safer" ingredients to the dollar store shampoo I still had, and found the EXACT SAME INGREDIENTS except for one--tea tree oil. And for the price difference, I could have added an entire bottle of tea tree oil to the cheap bottle and STILL paid less than they were charging. I liked the cleaning products, but you can find comparable products for much less elsewhere. And those 35 "points"? They translate into about $100 a month. So many reasons to stay away.
I was wondering if it was $35 or more. They kept saying it ‘was stuff you would buy anyways’ but that’s wrong as the prices are 2-3x more than stores & the products are nothing special.
Why would i use their toothpaste over Crest that I got for $1.25!at Dollar Tree? Why is their laundry detergents so special & better than Tide? Does it really clean clothes better? No
@@KwazyKupkakes Their strategy is twofold and clear in the two fake names they use: a) patriotism galore, buy American our products are literally stuffed with eagles CAW! and b) other products are DANGEROUS and will KILL YOUR FAMILY, our products are safe and will make you even more well than ever (because they're from America, which never has regulatory problems).
I signed up as a customer one time and after I ordered, I tried to cancel. They made me write something out saying I wanted to cancel my account and then I had to sign it, scan it and send it to them. How freaking annoying!!!
It was so bizarre when she changed the subject from the company structure to the freshness of the ingredients. That’s completely irrelevant lol, literally no one asked
Also secondly to me the whole time it was an anti sellimg point. I just kept going think of the waste and increased price if you cant buy in bulk thats how companies keep prives down
All this! Plus if your product goes bad after five weeks… might want to look into that
Melaluca Reps "There's no 'Middlemen'."
Me thinking outloud "Well... I mean seeing as I can't buy directly from the company but HAVE to go through a specific person, then aren't you guys, the reps, basically the Middlemen?"
🤔🤯😈
They're LITERALLY the middlemen! I can't believe they said that with a straight face!
This is amazing. I was so excited around minute 38 when Hannah says Mama didn’t raise no fool and of COURSE I recorded it hahaha
The email could not be more unprofessional than it was, i feel like, it's almost painful to read 😫 Who in the world uses phrases like, "Ciao for now and i'm currently inhaling lunch on my break" on a sponsorship email. 🤔 nobody of course but nice try. Overall speaking to you like you're their close friend. Plus the grammar mistakes and constant lying topped with over-defensiveness. Aren't they tired of all that work they put it just to scam you, cause we sure are! But hey, it's comical and their efforts are greatly appreciated. Thank you Hannah for sharing this comedy with us 😂
“Speaking to you like they’re your close friend.”
I was watching another anti mlm youtuber who made a video reacting to an mlm team zoom meeting and one of the huns said “if you’re asking ‘how do I talk to people? I don’t know how to talk to people!’ Of course you know how to talk to people! Talk to them just like you would your best friend or your mom!”
And I was just like “that’s the worst advice I’ve ever heard!” 😂
Flabbergasted that Melaluca would walk into the beartrap that is Hannah. Way to play yourself, guys
First of all, they have never looked at your content. Secondly, she thought she had you when she asked if you make commission on your sponsorships. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
Heard of so many people who DO make commisions on their sponsorships, can't believe they think it's their unique take.
It’s interesting how she openly states that they try to do whatever they can to get away from the idea that Melaleuca is an MLM.
This whatever they can includes outright lying and obfuscating details.
"It's not an MLM, it's a shopping site"
You know what else is a "shopping site"??
Amway
Ooof, about 12 years ago I got recruited into Amway. It only lasted a month but what a month it was! So much work for literally no pay off.
Yep and they claim they aren’t mlm either 😂
A way and Melaluca are direct competitors. I was in Amway in the mid 90’s and Melaluca was our biggest competitor because we both sold almost the exact same products.
'We're not an mlm because we're marketers not sellers'. Babe. What do you think that second m is?
Melaleuca really chose to do 0 research and got bit in the ass and it’s hilarious
This is the first time I have seen you or any of your videos.
While I truly enjoyed the content, all of the time, I couldn't help but be thinking "Man, I was an audiobook publisher, a publicist, a radio station owner or in Hollywood, I FOR SURE would hire this lady" That voice!!!!!
the ending of that call was so telling! when you told them "I get paid regardless if anyone clicks my link or not" that must've blown their minds, no wonder she had nothing to respond and just gave up on the call lol
I almost felt sorry for the woman who said she’d been in so many MLMs and thought she’d finally found a good one. Then I listened to the rest of the call.
She’s delusional
Soooo brainwashed. They throw away all ingredients every 5 weeks? Sure 🙃
She's brain washed
I don't know how I found your channel and I have no interest in mlms but I have been watching your content for weeks now purely because you are so comforting to watch, literally one of my favourite channels ❤
“Actual smart people know when to play dumb” ❤ 😂 you’re the BEST. I think this is the best Anti-MLM video I’ve ever seen. It’s them trying to get you, being completely blind to the fact that if anyone in the world is NOT their demographic that’s you. It shows all their scammy tactics trying to adapt to the influencer marketing and, most importantly, it shows how atypical their approach is. Not in a good way, in a shady way. 10/10
Former Beachbody person here, being in an MLM is such a similar headspace as an abusive relationship. You get to a point where you’ve watched your up line defended it, you now are also in a position to start defending it. It’s that much harder to get out when you’ve invested so much energy demanding others hear how amazing it all is.
Anti MLM content is so important because often that’s the first time a person can consume information quietly without feeling the defensive hackles come up.
@@SilverHairSimmer Very, very good analogy. Reminds me of the vitrol I received when I tried to inform my Flat-Earther sibling that the planet is not a pancake, lol. He got almost abusive. Thankfully, we are adults and he was only visiting, so I don't have to deal with him on a regular basis (in fact, I have zero intentions of inviting him over. Had I not had a younger sibling roommate at the time who invited him, he wouldn't have been there). I can only imagine how awful it is to be stuck in an MLM where now multiple people are shouting you down, because you believing and following blindly is how they make money. Very cult-like, very abusive.
Yup. Also like a cult.
@@lizajane2971 YES!!
@@lizajane2971 I pretty much think a cult is just a abusive relationship with more people.
I know this was probably so out of your comfort zone but you did SO incredible in that call! You were direct and forced them to answer (as much as they would) your questions without being disrespectful. You sounded confident and knowledgeable so way to go girl!
If the company forces you to purchase products to stay in good standing, RUN!
coming in post C&D to boost the algo!
Same!! Watching a second time
My ears perked up when one of them was explaining that reaching out to influencers was "just a marketing strategy INSTEAD OF BOTHERING FRIENDS AND FAMILY . . .!!!" At least, that's what it sounded like when I was trying to listen as closely as possible.
Yes, she said instead of bugging friends and family 😁
Wow that's so embarrassing
I love their early frustration with your refusal to “jump on a call” because they know their manipulation is more effective over the phone. They hate having to actually do things in a professional manner instead of using their typical high pressure sales tactics. Also the shadiness of them refusing to share the recording of the call they offered when you do eventually agree. I think that really speaks to their deception that happens from the start and would have continued
Commenting for more visibility within the algorithm! I love your outreach and information- and this one takes the cake! YAY HANNAH, BOO MELALELUCA😂
That was incredible, thank you!!! You did a great job explaining the issues and standing your ground and looking out for the best interests of your viewers.
Her going on a long speech to try and distract you and change the subject and you letting her ramble on only to call her out on the attempt and immediately return to the actual question you asked. Masterful and highly entertaining. You see people try that tactic all the time and not just with MLM stuff and it's just wonderful to see it not work.
Honestly my biggest takeaway is that Melaleuca is an extremely wasteful company and anything purchased would need to be used or thrown away within a few weeks. Not sure why she thought that was a selling point.
I doubt that's true, it's something made up to get people to buy frequently. And this way as well if someone does keep it past this arbitrary date, they can turn around and say it's the customer's fault.
They don't, I used to live near them in Tennessee. That lady was crazy
@@BewareTheLilyOfTheValleyyeah, who buys a toiletry or household product expecting that it needs to be entirely used up within a few weeks?
Yeah, that made me go, a) This is a lie, and b) If it were true, what horrible environmental practices! Even if this company weren’t an MLM, I’d never want to buy products from it. Throwing away tons of perfectly fine shelf-stable ingredients is supposed to be a good thing somehow?
For real why would I need fresh laundry detergant...??
I’ve already watched this. I’m watching it again because of the short you uploaded. And I need something soothing in my ears while I make my baby sleep. Keep fighting the good fight.
QUEEN GO OFF! I was recommended the freezer ice restock video and stayed for the rest. My sister and I now discuss these videos in detail.
mannn listening to the call, her saying she hopped around mlm’s and had a garage full of stuff she couldn’t sell is actually so sad. as ridiculous as it all is, they are victims of this too & have been gaslit enough to try to convince others.
I think I've heard that people in cults will often enter a new cult when they leave because it fills that void in their life. A cult and an MLM give the same promise of ease, "don't think about it, let our lifestyle/brand fix your problems".
I've also heard the best way to get someone to change their mind is to present an alternative when you tell them their beliefs are wrong. Like if you say they've wasted their time on this company/brand they're left with a reality they don't want to face, which can make some dig their heels deeper.
With Melaleauca there is no convincing, only sharing and telling. That is their policy. So if there are people that try real hard to convince others to join, then they are breaking the policy, and the company owner is unaware

Wow, you have the patience of a saint. I haven't even reached the zoom call and I'm both confused and annoyed. I would have wanted to scream at someone after the third email.
Wait. There was a plot to all of these emails?
It shows that Hannah used to deal with parents in her role as a teacher
Your patience. TREMENDOUS. And a great lesson i how to hear others out while still holding them accountable and on topic.
This is absolute gold! The way you hold yourself so confidently while challenging them is incredible!
The definition of the "All press is good press" ideology. At this point, MLMs don't seem to care about negative attention just in case 5 people who hear the name decide to give the brand a shot
Hoy hell: They get rid of their products from the previous "batch" EVERY FIVE WEEKS???? That is an abominable business practice and SO incredibly wasteful. Wow. And they're proud of that!
Yeah like I am all for freshness, but that is not the brag they think it is. Especially not when we face climate change and environmental issues all over the planet.
I doubt that's even true
@@SammyLammy1DExactly! They directly admitted they throw away products instead of donating them.
@@ssmccful 🤷♀It's what she said.
Where can I dumpster dive this stuff? That's the most it's worth . A dumpster dive.
I feel like she’s our mom standing between us and these MLM huns 😂
My agency just gave me an audition for Melaleuca, and I told them I don't want to act in advertising for an MLM. Melaleuca's marketing department is going hard.
Setting aside the fact this is an obvious pyramid scheme, I'm insulted that they'd use the term "marketing execs" to describe independent sales contractors. I'm a marketing executive with over two decades of experience. I've built brands and businesses, managed teams, and was responsible for the P&L of legitimate businesses. It's a slap in the face to a. conflate the roles of sales and marketing as they are distinct b. call these executives when they know full well these reps are not executives. It blows my mind how they manipulate language to placate unsuspecting victims.
It also bothers me that MLM reps are now calling it "digital marketing" which I suppose it is, but it bothers me because I run a digital marketing agency, helping actual businesses market their products and services. MLM sales is NOT the same.
