I saw video of illegals who admitted that they were registered to vote where they were living in Charlotte, NC and NC has a "Voter ID" Bill built into the Constitution for the State, but has been watered down by politicians and the Democrat controlled Board of Elections.

Does any of you read the laws in this country? It is already illegal at the federal level. This was taken care of in the 1990s. Non citizens cannot under any circumstance vote in any federal election including state representatives so why the need to spend more money when the law just needs to be enforced?

Should not be a partisan issue split along party lines, shouldn't be an issue at all, like you say there's no reason 100% shouldn't support this, say for instance you go pick up your favorite food item and the packaging has changed and now there's some extra unnecessary wrapper, it might be irritating at first but if it helps to protect the food and keep it safe and fresh it is an acceptable trade-off, because 100% of consumers would probably prefer to have the extra wrapper for an added bit of safety, that's all this is, just the safety measure, it's not a big social justice issue at all
It's already illegal for any noncitizen to vote and with less than four months before such a critical presidential race and no evidence of any widespread voter fraud it's very obvious why Speaker Johnson wants HR8281 passed now.

I'm an American citizen and I've voted all my adult life and never missed an election. What if:
1. I'm an active serviceman/woman and can't get authorized leave to re-register?
2. I've recently became a widow and my name doesn't match the name on my birth certificate?
3. I'm a native American, living on the reservation over 100 miles from the voting office and without transportation?
4. I recently lost my birth certificate when my house got destroyed in a fire/flood/tornado/etc.
Do you now understand why the passing of HR 8281 now is such bullshit? By the time it passes in both House & Senate then gets signed into law, there simply won't be sufficient time to ensure all American citizens can re-register for the 2024 election.

Years ago I remember needing to provide my CDL to Vote, this never should have stopped. Only US Citizens are allowed to Vote PERIOD
In my state we are required to show a photo ID that verifies our name, address. There are places you are designated to vote at. Why doesn’t every state do this?

This actually ticks me off, since I had to go to the DMV 4 times to get everything they needed to give me a real ID, but a non citizen can walk up and check a box to say they a citizen, and absolutely no questions.

@@szq57szq You have to have proof of address, which can be the card that sent you about renewing, if it is within 30 days. If a woman, and divorced, you have your have proof of your name changes. I had to get a marriage license from first marriage so they could see my maiden name on birth certificate, where it changed when first married, to second marriage. Also need you birth certificate. FYI, hubby had no problems whatsoever.
