  • Hey Overlanders! Welcome back to another video about the Land Rover Discovery 2. In this video we dive into how we install a lift on our disco 2. We finally got our hands on some fox shocks and we are super excited to try it out soon. Hope you enjoy and if you have any questions, please leave us a comment! We will see you in the next one.

    Yay! Good to see you guys again and so happy that you have new Land Rover content. Great video, did the same lift on my Discovery 2 one afternoon as they are such an easy car to work on.

    Just got the Terriforma kit for my Disco 1. Yup, got front wheel off, and dropped everything.. BTW the PS/DS are labeled on the sides of the springs. Need a spring compressor to get my front out. Anyhow thanks for the video!

    I hope you will see this. I was having trouble getting the shock damper sleeve in place, but couldn’t get the sleeve all the way in. Do you think this will cause issues?

    What size rim ?

    How critical are the 33" tires on reliability, performance, wear & tear, fuel economy? No doubt they look cool, but... is the pay off serious? I'm thinking of going to 30" tires or possibly 31.6" at the most, since stock on these cars are only 29". Yes, the Defender has 31.6" or 32" even, but Defender transfer case is geared differently...

      Well the larger tires would make all of the items listed worse.
      I don’t think sticking to the smaller tires is a bad idea.

    hey what is your high rack system? is it just cross bars too?

    • @overlandingworld
      @overlandingworld  2 года назад

      It is the Thule roof racks. Just the cross bars that attach on to the gutters of the Land Rover!

    You got 33x10.50s on a 2" lift? How do they fit when flexing and turning?

    • @overlandingworld

      They were awesome, they never rubbed.

      @@overlandingworld the '04 I'm about to buy has a 2 inch lift so now I know what tire size to run. Any idea if 15 inch rims will fit on one of these? I have a Jeep YJ with 33 10.50s and I'd like to just buy adapters to switch the lug pattern as opposed to buying new tires

    I’m curious why the medium duty over the heavy duty? Are they really that much stiffer?

    • @overlandingworld
      @overlandingworld  Год назад

      Not a huge difference, but just wanted a smoother ride. We knew that this Land Rover wouldn’t be loaded in the back as much as our old one with the heavy duty springs. If you plan on having a lot of gear and jerrycans, maybe go with the heavy duty ones. Hope this helps!

      @@overlandingworld just curious do you feel like you get more articulation with the mediums? I have the heavy duty right now and I have completely remove the front and rear sway bars and still travel down the highway at high speeds and take turns like normal. I'd like to get more articulation

      Also do you feel like the medium is the same stiff as the factory but just 2 inch lift or do you feel like the medium is a little stiffer than the factory? I was always under the impression that it was the same but just two inches taller
