I find myself singing lyrics from the wrong song because they're all so fucking similar. Deep Fake and A New Moral Low were maybe exceptions. The Blegh was beautiful.
FTTWTE felt complete because they had different ideas and used them all to the maximum. Almost every song on this album feels completely different. The new album feels like an in-between to me. Like Architects took their favourite style from the last album (Animals and An Ordinary Extinction), put it in a blender and made an album out of it.
And not doing a very good job at it. Part of what makes BMTH able to get away with whatever they want is because they’re excellent songwriters. Architects just isn’t there.
@@kevinaccettulla well not anymore sadly. Architects pretty much invented modern metal core and it was BMTH that was following Architects with Suicide Season and Sempiternal. Now it's the other way around.
Can we stop with the BMTH comparisons? Every fucking metal band that moves their sound a little bit towards synths are directly portrayed as BMTH copies. That's an unnecessary simplification and doesn't do either band justice.
I understand wanting to experiment with a sound, but really only "a new moral low ground" felt that experimental. Everything else felt like a cheap coat of Architects paint over sounds i've heard done better before.
I feel like I came out of every single song on this album like “that was alright.” Every songs sounds more or less the same and it’s all just very serviceable
I remember a comment I read a while back, that architects and parkway drive are in a contest about who can disappoint more, which is starting to get more based by the day
I think the reason every song feels to long is because they're playing a style of modern hard rock that I feel like usually has 2.5 to 3 minute long songs but all the songs on this album are like 4 minutes long and repeat too much.
I'm gonna be honest I love Sam as a vocalist but he sometimes sounds awkward or out of place on this record, whether it's his pitch or just the lyrics in general. There's a few decent tracks on this album but It's mostly a miss for me, which is a shame because I actually quite enjoyed FTTWTE
This album really feels like their first foray into developing a newer sound and for whatever reason it felt half-baked to me. Not that spending endless time in the studio is the answer but I think if they're looking to grow stylistically their next album will probably hit the mark. Plenty of good songs on this album, but nothing that's made me stop and have a moment like FTTWTE. Still a brave effort and trying to not just make the same album over and over is difficult.
interesting you mentioned royal blood, some of the vocal melodies also gave me royal blood vibes. Not seen anyone else mention the similarities until you.
I really like this album, as a whole piece it's repetitive indeed, but I've listened to it a couple of times and I suddenly realized, that I like every single song and I wanna jump into it again
I think it’s a fun album. I like to think I can listen to a different architects album now depending what mood I’m in, and I respect them for trying something new and not just giving in to what everyone expects from them.
I like the album, some songs are better than others but I can't consider it a step forward from the previous one. It's a different album with a different story, not a cohesive work as the previous album, but more a playlist of tracks put together. Three Days Grace in some songs is a strong influence, this was unexpected.
This is a step back from their last album 100%, half of it is clearly stuff they left out of the last album, thats probably why it was made so soon after the last.
I understand that a lot of ppl don't like when a band rly differs from their bread & butter with their core sound but honestly imo as long as they don't totally derail from wut they know they're capable of as a band & are able to introduce new/different aspects & concoct a cool new type of sound thru an album then honestly it's not that bad to me. And personally, I fucking love this album front to back it's rly well thought out & it's a whole separate vibe from everything else they've done. But as with any album of theirs, I do have my personal favorites. From 1 to 5, my faves are Deep Fake, When We Were Young, A New Moral Ground, Tear Gas & Be Very Afraid.
I’m a huge architects fan. I didn’t have high expectations coming into this album because the singles were pretty mid to me. However, having listened to it, I’m not upset as I expected to be. As an artist myself (3D artist), I admire what they did. They knew many people would hate this album but made it anyways as a genuine expression from where they’re at in life. That is ultimately what being an artist is about. It’s not just about making music others will like or even making something insanely innovative believe it or not. I agree some parts are boring, but many people have been overreacting. It’s not a bad album. It’s just a different hard rock sound which many of us metal heads typically find boring. Maybe a 6/10 for me but the people saying “this is just sad” should put themselves in the bands shoes for a second. It’s a period of growth and change. I’m sure they expect it to be difficult finding exactly what type of music they want to make right now. They are not stupid. Im sure they know they can’t fully live up to the expectations of Holy Hell and AGHAU. They likely even accept they’ll never top those in many peoples eyes. I’m sure they’ll make more A grade bangers over the years too. It’s just a totally different phase of life for them now. They probably feel a strong urge to make something entirely different from their old records for many reasons and I can’t blame them. I agree the lyrics aren’t as great as they used to be. The album could have used more time in my opinion. Some songs are close to being great but just miss the chefs touch. All things considered, it’s a decent hard rock album with a couple highlights and very genuine message behind it. People are acting like it’s fucking Parkway Drives new album which just isn’t the case lol. That shit is actually comically bad.
''decent hard rock album'' that is the problem actually. Since their debut, Architects managed to write creative songs. Every single piece they released were unique. Nightmares and Holy Hell are same genre of music but they both sound unique and perfect.
@@abandon4 I don't remember them saying it was their best album yet, could you give me a source of them saying that? Also, Animals being their best song yet is completely subjective. They have their own opinions, and everyone else has theirs. I personally don't agree with it, but just because they think that doesn't mean they're in denial. I'm sure they know their new style is nothing like their old style, but they're really enjoying it, and it's nice to know that they're enjoying themselves. They've even said before, that after Holy Hell, they'll only ever make music for themselves, not for anyone else. They don't owe anyone anything, let them do their thing. Also, saying "They know nothing" is extremely ignorant. They've been doing this for well over a decade, they know their shit 😂
I really dislike the industrial vibes personally, i'm getting bored real quick of the Ta-Dum, Ta-Dum, Ta-Dum. I don't mind them exploring their sound and not just doing heavier stuff but taking out most of the riffs and the complex structures to bring this Industrial vibes is a huge regression for my part
Coming back after listening to it more, it's a 50/50 album for me. I love All The Love in the World and A New Moral Low Ground, but other than that it ranges from good, to alright, to forgettable. Nothing is really bad on the album, but it doesn't stand out to me as much as FTTWTE
For me they kind of went from the band that I listen to a new song from expecting to love it to a band that I listen to a new song from expecting to not like it
i feel like a lot of the verses and choruses just repeat throughout most of the songs, and there’s no super memorable thing from most of the songs. but i definitely like a lot of the songs, and will take whatever they give me.
It's because it's Animals 2.0, you can sing the lyrics to animals over the top of it and it fits perfectly. And that song has a huge chorus, so I can see why they went for a similar structure
@@matthewduncan572 I liked what Bad Omens did even tho they went industrial style too but they just did it better. Nothing really unique ab this album besides Sam’s vocals.
The writing just feels very hard rock bleh. We can't be stopped, we won't give up, we're so tough, nothing will stop us lyrics. Drums all sound the same and just keep a basic groove, guitars are the same, really basic rhythm and generic solo's if there are any. There's maybe a handful of moments in some tracks that you're like "finally!" then it's back to just hazing out waiting for something to keep your attention and after so far into the album when something does mix things up it's too late cause you're just glazed over
So in all reality, they didn't write this record for anyone but themselves. I personally enjoy the sonic experimentation going on. This is their tenth album. After holy hell I totally get why they changed direction. Without Tom, they were gonna shift directions one way or the other. And for all of you that hated FTTWTE, that album was top of a few charts, and this one might do the same. If you look at this as a concept album with the name implied, it's pretty easy to see that this album is meant to be "dull" and "empty". Just let them enjoy themselves and if you don't enjoy it then go back to holy hell or daybreaker or anything before or after that. There's 9 other albums to pick from. Cheers
I'd be more inclined to be open to it if Dan wasn't pissy about valid criticism towards the changes. They aren't immune to said criticism, although I do think you're right that this'll be huge commercially. Broaden an audience and whatnot
Love this comment. I'm really shocked by ppl who even DARE to say to Dan that his songwriting is sh*t compared to Tom's. I mean, they were twins, but it is OBVIOUS that Dan isn't Tom and it makes me sad that ppl don't accept the change. Holy Hell is a masterpiece, but we feel in it the weight of Tom's loss. Now the lads want to evolve and go further : why isn't it okay ? Their others albums are very pessimistics and they are 8 (FFTWTE is different). It's like Thornhill and their big change from The Dark Pool to Heroine : if you want another Holy Hell or All our gods..., juste listen to it ! Music evolves as the ppl. I don't say TCSOABS is a masterpiece cause its not. But I respect the choices of the lads, and this album is still very enjoyable. Not depressing as the others btw. I also respect everybody's taste and understand the deceptions. But it makes me sad to see the hate or nasty comments on the lads :(
@@emiliep7187 I agree. I don't have a problem with people not digging the new sound, I have a problem with people shitting on these guys for making the music they want to make. There was so much support for this band when Tom died. It was a huge loss and people knew that Architects likely wouldn't ever be the same (if they continued to make music at all). And now that they are continuing to making music despite their loss, everyone has turned around and stabbed them in the back, called them sellouts, and thrown the death of their brother/friend/bandmate back in their face, saying shit like: "Their music died with Tom". Like no shit; he was their songwriter but have some god damn respect for these lads trying to continue to keep their music alive without Tom. I'm honestly ashamed of the metal community right now.
@@brysonxd Most of the "criticism" I see isn't actual criticism, but rather people straight up shitting on the band. If people knew how to form constructive criticism then I'm sure the band would care, don't see why they should give a shit about children whining about them not releasing the same music they did 8 years ago though. Cheers.
@@thenaysayerr alright cause you asked nicely. I was referring to the fact someone having a great album as profile picture which might mean they also have great taste. But the same person deeming the mediocre architects album as very good and enjoyable makes the profile picture and the delivered illusion of good taste questionable. Nothing personal it was just a joke and just now I explained it lmao
Being a huge fan for many years now the thing that disappointed and pissed me off is their day before release statement damage controlling this thing, saying they are too old for "angry music" and metalcore is exactly that, however Dan proceeds to post this a few days back: "other than the singles the album is classic metalcore". I really trusted these guys but it feels completely opposite of genuine, from the lazy artwork, using Cevini once again drowning the mix, making it complete static and times and Sam's voice in oversaturation effects and what not, lazy 3 riffs the whole album (trying to be objective as possible as a guitar player myself) , 9 out of 11 songs with the 2-step drumming 0 variation and/or accents. I don't know man, I don't hate it , I am just disappointed, having 0 expectations still let down...
Aside from "When we were young" I don't like any other songs on the album. I love the band but I can't stand the new album. I wasn't too fond of the last one but at least it had some heavier songs on it. This one feels like an entirely different band. That's just my opinion, though.
Look, I love Architects. What I don't love is the "arena rock" sound. I respect the fuck out of them as players and human beings, and the album has some really nice moments. However, I do miss cool and intricate riffs and patterns. Kick on 1 and snare on 3 for a whole song gets boring really fast, especially when it's done on half the songs.
Honestly half of these songs sound like Three Day Grace, especially "all the love in the world". I like Three Days Grace but I expect Architects to sound like themselves, but now I don't know what they really sound like. I Honestly really liked FTTWTE, but this album is so different from it, not to mention Holy Hell and stuff before that. It's an ok album, but I expect more than "ok" from Architects.
I actually really like this one. Not a masterpiece by any means, but I knew what was coming and think they did well. From here on they need to get some variation away from those 3 vocal notes and half step structure.
It's an Album that if they learn from and take the good bits of the last 3 and bring that together cohesively, good play a big part in an unbelievable record next time. But this just didn't grab you as an architects album should.
I don't hate the band for what they're doing and I still listen to their old songs but to sum up my thoughts... Every song sounds the same, I have listen to all the songs because the previous album was not for me so I had to gave this one a try but every song sounds the same to me even though there are lots of differences...but I do wish the band well to continue making music. tbh I can't wait for Sylosis new album 🙌🏻😅 sorry if that's mean.
Im with you, everyone felt more the architects standart sound. But after a few listen, we have our architects, with new, creative ideas. Im very in this record ❤️
damn the whole album sounds like a B-Side of FTTWTE the songs that feels like it didn't make the cut so they just decide to make an whole album from it... Sam is a top tier vocalist but the tones and melodies he does in this record all sounds the same but with different lyrics
@Underoath-Define The Great Line Fan Account [2-4] Just cause they liked the album and you didn't doesn't mean they aren't being honest. Or "telling it how it is". Nik was even open about disliking for those that wish to exist. Get this weird take you have outta your head.
i really enjoyed this personally, I get what bogdan means by it doesnt feel like a story album its just aton of songs existing. I got into architects at ftwwte so I dont have an attachment to their older sound much snd overall love mostly anything theu do and idk i just love the overall vibe and feel of this album even if its pretty short. I just hope Architects enjoyed what they made tbh, people say its "uninspired" but its the oppisite, they were inspired and just wanted to do things they had not fully embraced anymore
FTTWTE is my favourite Architects album, this because it has a perfect mix of heaviness and softer parts which makes the heavy (personally) even more heavier compared to the other albums where most of it is constant scream singing. I like some songs (Doomsday, Royal beggers, Gone with the wind, ...) of the previous albums, but most of it is too heavy for me. This album a lot less heavier. For a Buttrock fan, the album definitely isn't bad, but I miss the Metalcore vibes and the intensity. There are hardly any real feels, but perhaps it will grow on me. However I'm sure some of the songs might slap hard live. In the end, I'm sure more people will get into Architects and that's only a good thing for the band. I respect that they wanted to create something different, however I hope the next album will be heavier again.
This is like Trivium's Silence in the Snow. Granted that album was more well received and more apoealing to Metalcore fans. Wait for Architects' version of Sin and the Sentence or What the Dead Men Say Seriously, more bands should do EPs like Falling in Reverse
The songs mostly revert to versions of the main animals hook (Animals: 0.50 - 1.10) A new moral low ground: 1.42 - 1.53 Be very afraid: 1.45 - 2.03 Born again pessimist: 1.08 - 1.23 Burn down my house: 1.08 - 1.33 (slow version) Deep fake - 0.49 - 1.00 Spit the bone: 0.33 - 0.49 Tear Gas: 1.00- 1.30 - 1.54 When we were young: 0.51 - 1.14 Hit the nail on the head, some interesting snippets but mostly meh. It'll get them a lot of commercial radio play though, and why not cash in at this stage of their career. Best of luck to them.
It's hard to say and to accept but Tom was the creative backbone behind Architects. The Last two records are so blank in regards of songwriting. It almost hurts to see what they have become
I like architects since a few years and i really like ftwte. I also enjoy Post-Hardcore music alot so instrumentally I would enjoy this album alot but i don't think Sam's vocals fit well with the music they went for and lyrics were pretty meh. If the vocals were sung by someone else whose voice suit the music, i would've enjoyed this album alot more
The comments at the end sum up my feelings entirely. I'm glad they're experimenting and I think the industrial shoe-gazey rock space could be a good fit for the band but the execution just isn't there for me. I also can't help but compare it Rotoscope by Spiritbox that explores some of the same sounds and ideas with a cleaner and more matured final product. All really subjective stuff, but idk, this one just didn't do it for me.
Elaboration, I feel like the album has a pattern of complexity and simplicity through the songs that goes up and down and can seem more scattered and random than it might actually be. Personally the songs "burn down my house" and "born again pessimist" really hit for me because of things happening in my life. Just making connections like that in music is what I look for. I feel like everyone can connect to the song doomscrolling lately 💀
@@codiction Most songs on Holy Hell were partly written by Tom and atleast 2 songs were fully written by him (Dan confirmed Tom wrote the title track + Damnation)
@@Crotes1990Tom didn’t write Damnation. The 2 songs Tom wrote and finished himself were Holy Hell and Seventh Circle. Then some leftover bits and pieces (like the Doomsday riff) that the rest of the band finished without him.
This is one of those albums that I mindlessly headbang to. It didn't make me feel anything, and I don't have any interest in listening to it again. I really liked Burn Down My House at first, but I felt like it never progressed or went anywhere. Even though I liked the different, dark atmosphere of that song, it stayed stagnant the whole way through. Most of the singles are the standouts, and Doomscrolling was the best new song imo. LFLT, All Our Gods, and Holy Hell were my favorite albums of theirs. This one is fine, but not memorable for me.
It's not, and I'm tired of people pretending their new music is somehow an evolution of their older stuff. People like to throw around terms like how their sound has "matured"....like no, I'm not going to pretend pop rock is an evolution of music. It's the opposite. It's watered down, bland and generic. It's objectively less creative. And it's fine if someone likes that, that's not the problem. I'm just so sick of people acting like they're "evolving" as a band. Again, it's the opposite since they lost the creative driving force behind their music.
@@ABRAsylum was hoping that adding Josh Middleton would make the band better but they’ve clearly gone a different direction. I liked FTTWTE and I thought it was different and still creative. But you are right, this is generic and bland with no creativity behind it.
@@ABRAsylum yeah, although my opinion about the album is good, I like it, I agree about this thing about "growing", "evolving", "we are not anger anymore", it's total bullshit. Simply they want to do different things, and it's ok, it's your band, do what you want, you don't have to explain why! And if you want to explain, tell the truth, so the fact you want to do something different and see how it can be without expecting the fans to understand or be happy (and if you are a band with a successful background, it's obvious that a consistent part of the fanbase will be happy and accept the change)
@@williammansfield686 apparently Josh is still really focused on new Sylosis material, which is a shame. I wish he would be more involved in the writing and creative processes. Personally, I think Dan and Sam are struggling creatively now
I kinda like these dreamy choruses and chill songs that have a nice breakdown at the end opposed to constant screaming and heaviness. Its just a different vibe altogether. I really liked Meteor of their last record so I dont hate most of this. Its not mind blowing but just some pretty solid tracks.
When i first heard previous Album i was 50/50, Love some song like Meteor, Animals, Black Lungs but after listening to this album i give up. I miss the old style and riffs from "All your gods has abandon us", "Lost forever/ lost together". Listening to this is even more sad to me when i look right to my youtube recommendations and see "Morning Warm Up with Tom", he is playing "A Match Made In Heaven" I dont like a single song in this Album. Cheers
I have very mixed opinions about that synthy sounding guitar lead that just coats this entire album. It works on the title track but it comes off as diet BMTH or Bad Omens for the majority of the songs. It's like they can't decide if they want to go for a more synthy atmospheric sound or stay metalcore out of fear of offending the core metal fans, and that indecisiveness really shows on this record
@@christiandauz3742 Fair enough, but I think it's important to point out that even Trivium themselves have said that Silence in the Snow is their weakest album (albeit they were limited creatively due to Matt's injury to his vocal chords). It wasn't until they fully committed to their new sound with SATS in 2017 that they found their stride again.
You can tell some of Toms influence was left in Holy Hell, because since then its been downhill. Same flat passionless vocals. Look at the raw grittyness of vocals on songs like early grave, broken cross, hollow crown etc now its just flat radio rock.
I love Sam as a vocalist but there’s a certain point where his raspy leads get kinda grating. I’d much prefer hearing vocals similar to the ones on Dead Butterflies, while using the raspy vocals sparingly
Their still following BMTH and trying to change with them, but their way too behind at the minute. Some bands just change better than some others I guess
I enjoyed this album, it's fun, which is something I never thought I'd say about an Architects album. I do find it weird that they said they went into making this album with total creative freedom, but every track follows the same template. I think alot of these tracks will slap live. Architects aren't playing pub shows anymore; they're playing arenas now. LT//LF, AOGHAU and holy hell won't sound too great in an arena. I also think people need to listen to the album for what it is rather than what it's not. People want the tech metal with the face melting breakdowns, and Architects are saying nah we don't want to do that right now. And that's fine.
I really like the singles so far, but I tend to agree if you listen to this album from start to finish it kinda feels like a lot of the same tone. I feel like it needed another song that was different than the rest, whether that’s heavy or something completely different.
Yeah I’m not feeling this one, I respect the hell out of the band and always will but I don’t have to like everything they do. The only song I think I’ll come back to is be very afraid
If you can learn to understand it as a "solid hard rock album" rather than an architects metalcore album, its actually pretty good. I feel like if somebody else made this album most people would be way more excited about it.
Not convinced mate. Bands can change their sound and I am 100% for it, as an album for me, this is a massive miss. Not saying your opinion is invalid btw. Just how I feel about it
I feel that applies to many bands gone hard rock. The biggest in my head is asking Alexandria. Their new music isn't *bad* by any means, just knowing how they used to be makes it hard to digest.
Nah. Take Normandie or Caskets for example, they are hard rock and their melodies are super memorable and inspired. With this album everything kinda sounds the same and so uninspired. I like me my hard rock, but this album just ain't it.
@@berserkerman11272134 I love AAs old stuff and their new stuff. With Architects, knowing what they have done in the past makes their new stuff disappointing, but it also doesn't invalidate the critiscms people have
@@adamtrout7711 honestly I feel this too, there are a lot of boring and repetitive parts. I feel like this album is "okay" but not "bad" as for me it has redeemable moments and genuinely good songs
I'm liking this album. It's different but has some bangers. Kinda hope Sam does more actual cleans as they sound pretty good mixed with heavy riffs. Has some Bad Omens vibes.
Same, it’s very different, feels like an in-between album where the next one is really going to solidify what they want to do, and I’m looking forward to it
I get how they can't just change the name because labels and marketing and all of that jazz, but this is so very clearly a different band. Send this album back a few years and call it Architects and everyone laughs. People change and what they want to do musically changes as well, but this is just so utterly boring to me. I'm into rock as well as the heavy-bang-bangs, but this is so repetitive and boring. They're all talented but it's all so very meh.
I think the problem is that all the songs sound very much the same. You can click anywhere in the video and it'll sound the same 9/10 times. It gets very boring very quickly. The other problem is the 2nd song in the album is messy and really drives the attention down because you spend so much time trying to figure it out instead of enjoying it. It really needed a good "just listen and enjoy" song on the second track and more variety in sound beyond that. they literally just sound like Three Days Grace over the last decade.
You know what, I thought exactly the same thing and couldn't understand the shift towards the generic over the last two albums. However, if you go and see them play the new stuff live it instantly makes more sense! This album especially seems to be geared toward the live performance, potentially at the expense of the record itself. It's just a theory though, the true test will be at the O2 next month with Biffy Clyro and I cannot wait! I'll make sure to report back my findings from the pit 😉.
I feel like Sam only sings the same two-note melody with the same cadence throughout the entire album with very few exceptions.
That's exactly my feeling
How this video is edited it really does highlight it. I couldn't quite put my finger on it
I find myself singing lyrics from the wrong song because they're all so fucking similar. Deep Fake and A New Moral Low were maybe exceptions. The Blegh was beautiful.
yea the doomsday era was like mindblowing compared to this
That was my biggest gripe as well, there’s little to no vocal variation in any of the songs, it makes for a really bland listening experience
Feels like all these metalbands are playing catch-up with BMTH.
And not doing a very good job at it. Part of what makes BMTH able to get away with whatever they want is because they’re excellent songwriters. Architects just isn’t there.

yes! They managed to create a different vibe and it works really well in my opinion.
100% argee
I think the reason every song feels to long is because they're playing a style of modern hard rock that I feel like usually has 2.5 to 3 minute long songs but all the songs on this album are like 4 minutes long and repeat too much.

But as with any album of theirs, I do have my personal favorites. From 1 to 5, my faves are Deep Fake, When We Were Young, A New Moral Ground, Tear Gas & Be Very Afraid.
The 'I feel nothing' perfectly sums the album up.
“Burn down my house” is a beautiful song
Maya, c4d, zbrush or Blender?

I get the feeling most Metalcore is Death Metal but with different Rifts
How far we've come from Linkin Park and Nu-Metal
i feel like a lot of the verses and choruses just repeat throughout most of the songs, and there’s no super memorable thing from most of the songs. but i definitely like a lot of the songs, and will take whatever they give me.
'Living Is Killing Us' is the one track that really stuck out to me on this one and even that is just the chorus.
It's because it's Animals 2.0, you can sing the lyrics to animals over the top of it and it fits perfectly. And that song has a huge chorus, so I can see why they went for a similar structure
I try to like this album but I can't

Like with new Parkway Drive, all of the excitement and pure energy from FTTWTE is lost. Except maybe the one song When We Were Young
This is nowhere close to the likes of Holy Hell, or All Our Gods, but I don't know, I still enjoyed the record as a whole. I can vibe with it.
The writing just feels very hard rock bleh. We can't be stopped, we won't give up, we're so tough, nothing will stop us lyrics. Drums all sound the same and just keep a basic groove, guitars are the same, really basic rhythm and generic solo's if there are any. There's maybe a handful of moments in some tracks that you're like "finally!" then it's back to just hazing out waiting for something to keep your attention and after so far into the album when something does mix things up it's too late cause you're just glazed over
doomscrolling, burn down my house, born again pessimist?

Bro. Your videos are epic cause I actually get a summarized version of an album. Not just blahblahblah. Thank you
So in all reality, they didn't write this record for anyone but themselves.
If they can't take the critism then they shouldn't keep releasing the same song
Cheers.

It was a rough experience wasnt it 😔
Being a huge fan for many years now the thing that disappointed and pissed me off is their day before release statement damage controlling this thing, saying they are too old for "angry music" and metalcore is exactly that, however Dan proceeds to post this a few days back: "other than the singles the album is classic metalcore".
Dans post was clearly sarcastic lmao
Poor thing🙁
I struggled with this album too. I felt super empty after listening to it.
Aside from "When we were young" I don't like any other songs on the album. I love the band but I can't stand the new album. I wasn't too fond of the last one but at least it had some heavier songs on it. This one feels like an entirely different band. That's just my opinion, though.
Doomscreaming feels so long because there's SO much singing in it.
Dude i got massive 3 days grace vibes too
Slipping into PWD territory and moving towards stadium dad rock
I actually really like this one. Not a masterpiece by any means, but I knew what was coming and think they did well. From here on they need to get some variation away from those 3 vocal notes and half step structure.
I love that he Bleghed in Times New Roman
I feel outside of Tear Gas and Born Again Pessimist, this album is great and really gets better and better with each listen!
Im with you, everyone felt more the architects standart sound. But after a few listen, we have our architects, with new, creative ideas. Im very in this record ❤️
I honestly don't think I could differentiate a single song from another in this album. They all sound the same
this album grew on me but FTTWTE was better
when Holy Hell came out, all of those songs gave me goosebumps. LF//LT and AOGHAU were both God tier. I miss those vocal styles, breakdowns, and riffs
damn the whole album sounds like a B-Side of FTTWTE the songs that feels like it didn't make the cut so they just decide to make an whole album from it... Sam is a top tier vocalist but the tones and melodies he does in this record all sounds the same but with different lyrics

I think they are in the phase Trivium and BMTH were in before. Give them time and support so that they too bloom
Wait for Architects' version of Sin and the Sentence or What the Dead Men Say
Seriously, more bands should do EPs like Falling in Reverse
The songs mostly revert to versions of the main animals hook (Animals: 0.50 - 1.10)
A new moral low ground: 1.42 - 1.53
Be very afraid: 1.45 - 2.03
Born again pessimist: 1.08 - 1.23
Burn down my house: 1.08 - 1.33 (slow version)
Deep fake - 0.49 - 1.00
Spit the bone: 0.33 - 0.49
Tear Gas: 1.00- 1.30 - 1.54
When we were young: 0.51 - 1.14
Hit the nail on the head, some interesting snippets but mostly meh. It'll get them a lot of commercial radio play though, and why not cash in at this stage of their career. Best of luck to them.
It's a 2/10, at best. Not because it doesn't sound like the old Architects, I'm over that... but because the songwriting is just so basic and corny.
It's hard to say and to accept but Tom was the creative backbone behind Architects. The Last two records are so blank in regards of songwriting. It almost hurts to see what they have become
Architects actually are capable of writing great material without him. On Holy Hell there was only 2-3 songs written by Tom from starting to finish
I've loved these guys since Daybreaker, FTTWTE was incredible as well imo. This album though... it just aint it
I like architects since a few years and i really like ftwte.
"Coffee is bad for you".. As I sip my coffee 😔
Love the whole album, feels very cohesive and I like the progression from song to song

I tried to like it. I really did. But it’s just not very good.
So witty and original
Oh my how far they have fallen. At least we have their old stuff to enjoy cause this new shit just isn’t it.

Doomscrolling is my favorite track on the album. Even then though, some of the songs are like 4 and a half minutes for no reason. Strange album.
Favorite songs on this album are burn down my house and born again pessimist
