- Highlights from Portland, Oregon's very own 2024 Adult Soapbox Derby.
Started in the summer of 1997, every year racers climb to the top of Mt Tabor to race their creations. All cars are gravity powered only, all hand built by teams. The race is entirely volunteer ran, and one of the best events in Portland!
The event is free to watch and usually attracts upwards of 10,000 people. It's about a mile long track from the top of Mt. Tabor to the finish line around reservoir 5.
Fun fact: Mt Tabor is an extinct volcano now a century old forested public park in Portland. It has beautiful open air reservoirs and amazing views of the city.

A recumbent bike with a minor wrap is just lazy imo
Some cats only compete for speed while others are in the art car category. There’s definitely a difference in looks between the groups
