Yup…Once There Were Wolves is one of the best books I’ve ever read. Excited to read Migrations by Charlotte McConaghy this summer and hope she comes out with a new book soon!

Just finished other side of night, definitely a slower burn but WOW the end was worth the journey. Writing was brilliant too (and listened to audio)

The best book I’ve read so far might be Bright Young Women as well (this is the best book troop pick imo) Part of Your World and Mistborn also might be my faves so far. Most disappointing book for me was Cinder and the most surprising would be These Silent Woods. I’m really excited and looking forward to reading Reckless by Lauren Roberts and Not in Love by Ali Hazelwood. ❤

If you like Big Swiss, I'd also recommend: My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh, Bunny by Mona Awad, Milk Fed by Melissa Broder, Tender is the Flesh by Agustina Bazterrica, and Natural Beauty by Ling Ling Haung (look up TWs for all of these first!!). They all scratch that weird girl lit fic itch
Thanks for the tag! So far my reading has been weird this year. Partially due to life stuff. I haven't been doing well with my goals either. Im hoping I can turn it around and with summer basically here, it should help my mood and improve my reading.

Excellent video! It's that time of year already. Our reading taste is not aligning so much this year, but I enjoyed the manga and thriller recommendations.
I too loved Once There Were Wolves. Charlotte McConaghy has a new book set to come out March of 2025 called Wild Dark Shore. I just heard about it yesterday.
I read Instructions for Traveling West: Poems for the cover too!! I love it! I gave it 4 stars.

The unwedding is very boring, nothing happens despite my favorite setting in the resort, isolation vibe and a murder mystery... I'm looking forward to hearing your thought on that book. On the contrary, Listen to the lie is probably my only 5 star this year, so far.
I JUST got The Unwedding checked out to me from my local library but I decided to return it. The Goodreads ratings are already below 3.5 😫

If you haven't watched the movie A Man Called Ove even though I know you didn't like the book, you need to watch it. Tom Hanks is Ove and he's everything in that movie. SO good!
You might like Cleopatra and Frankenstein for a good unhinged literary book! It's one of my favs ❤❤❤!

I'm currently reading Bright Young Women. I'm currently on pg54 and I did get a little confused about how the pov were told in this book, btw I'm back to using my local library which I borrowed this book from.
Since you enjoy romance once in a while I would highly recommend Cressida McLaughlin's books 😍 I feel like they are not that big yet, but I honestly love her books so much. They have all the cosy vibes and are such great feelgood romance books! ❤️
Her series 'The Cornish cream tea bus' is so cute! I especially love the first and fourth in the series!

I’ve read 57 books so far but only 4 of them were 5 stars 🫠🫠 alone with you in the ether (it wasn’t memorable though so it won’t be in my top of the year unless I reread it felt the same love), how to say a babylon, outofshapeworthlessloser, and darling girls. So, only 2 fiction books out of 51 books total (not including non fiction) were 5 stars for me this year. I’ve never had that bad reading year in my entire life lol. Some of these reads were for uni so I didn’t expect to give them a 5 anyway but still… 2024 is not my year when it comes to quality reads 😢
The Abby romance book would definitely count as a sequel, companion novels like that are still sequels and the romance genre is full of them 🤗
