Some of the modern hip churches do abbreviated version that leave our or harshly modify the third verse. The significance of Myrrh being given to the child is better understood when you know that in that time Myrrh was pretty much only used at funerals to cover the smell of the deceased. So to give myrrh at a birth would be considered odd and part of the foreshadowing of the story. There is one modern version I have seen where they pretty much stuck to tradition but gave the bass the middle verse and had the soprano do the grim third verse. ruclips.net/video/eEtUGgBwzEM/видео.html

If you listen carefully you can hear their piety. Many of the people singing here truly believe they are praising their deity with their voices. I'm not personally a believer, but that doesn't lessen my experience of their masterful worship.

    THREE KINGS OF ORIENT.
    1. We Three Kings of Orient are,
    Bearing gifts we traverse afar,
    Field and fountain,
    Moor and mountain,
    Following yonder Star.
    CHORUS.
O Star of Wonder, Star of Night,
    Star with Royal Beauty bright,
    Westward leading,
    Still proceeding,
Guide us to Thy perfect Light.
    (Gaspard:)
    2. Born a Kɪɴɢ on Bethlehem plain,
Gᴏʟᴅ I bring to crown Him again,
    King for ever,
    Ceasing never
    Over us all to reign.
    O Star, &c.
    (Melchior:)
    3. Fʀᴀɴᴋɪɴᴄᴇɴꜱᴇ to offer have I,
    Incense owns a Deity nigh:
    Prayer and praising
    All men raising,
    Worship Him Gᴏᴅ on High.
    O Star, &c.
    (Balthazar:)
    4. Mʏʀʀʜ is mine; its bitter perfume
Breathes a life of gathering gloom;-
    Sorrowing, sighing,
    Bleeding, dying,
    Sealed in the stone-cold tomb.
    O Star, &c.
    5. Glorious now behold Him arise,
    Kɪɴɢ, and Gᴏᴅ, and Sᴀᴄʀɪꜰɪᴄᴇ;
    Heav’n sings Hallelujah:
    Hallelujah the earth replies.
    O Star, &c.

But the beauty you're admiring is the interior of a chapel. A church is a building located within a parish, which is a geo-ecclesiastic territory within a geo-ecclesiastic territory of a diocese administered by a bishop from his chair in the dioceses' cathedral. For each parish within his diocese the bishop appoints a priest to administer the sacraments inside the parish church or its graveyard (and other places under certain circumstances or by permission of the Bishop). A chapel is an ecclesiastic edifice built at the discretion of someone or something other than the Bishop responsible for the diocese in which it is located. It is commonly built for the convenience of those living, working or studying nearby the chapel. The priest(s) serving the chapel do so under the authority of the bishop. A chapel is simply (but not always) a church without a parish and serving some Christians on the basis of convenience of location.

You're saying the church is the people, not the building. I agree, but in normal English lexicon, the building is also a church. Lets not nitpick.

The three Kings had only a rumor to go by. But it moved them to make that long journey. The scribes were much better informed, much better versed. They sat and studied Scriptures like so many dons, but it did not make them move. Who had the more truth? The three kings who followed a rumor, or the scribes who remained sitting with all their knowledge?

the constellations in the sky had great meaning and significance to the astronomers of the ancient world, including the Magi. they knew Scripture and the teachings of Daniel the Old Testament saint. they knew that the Messiah would be born in Bethlehem and for centuries astrologers had been looking for the astronomical signs of his coming. This was far from acting on rumor although they did have faith in the Scriptures

The last paragraph of the new testament is an explicit invite. The process to be 'born again' is basically - ask forgiveness for sins (not all your fault- it's a birth default) and ask for Christ to live in your heart. Now you are a saved christian done and dusted- that's the first and most important big step.

Great performance. I slowed it down slightly and that was more enjoyable for me. .75 playback speed still looked natural in the video too funny enough

I've done some research and some traveling.I've found BUTCH PFAF's account on events to be 100% true. Mr.PFAF is a wise sage who resides in the former country of Zimbabwe. He is considered a god amoungst the natives and houses a great multitude of puppies rescued from countries that harbor puppy killing choirs. He has also taken in his murderous cousin Elowshes, and had issued a decree forbiding anyone to remark on his voice as a way to protect the masses.Mr.Pfaf has brought a utopia to the land he has settled by following the example of the best president the world has ever seen,President Donald John Trump.Soon he will join the world stage and make his greatness known to all.

@@butchpfaf363 You are my hero! The charitable work you do with puppies, and the way you found a way to restrain your cousin's blood lust is a clear example of your mercy and kindness.I hope to visit you again soon.Make sure you keep the country formally known as Zimbabwe a beutiful refuge for all who visit.I will continue to witness to your greatness and keep your wellbeing in my prayers.

Thanks for posting this video. A seriously favorite song, I sang the third part way back when, and left no eye unmoistened, as the preceding parts had already been sung so movingly, as they were here. These soloists were fantastic, and have great potential, while I had hoped that they would hold the "Oh, oh!" just before the chorus, at least for the last verse. That could have been Dave Grosvenor on the tuba, since he could play that thing!
