I love that these guys have the balls to sing the Myrrh verse. Every version I've ever seen in America has the third king just sing the final ensemble verse.
The myrhh part is the most menacing. Carries a dark foreboding. I saw a Readers Digest version when i was a kid with the myrhh part recited as a poem. It was breathtaking!
Always love coming back to this rendition. One of the absolute best renditions I've ever heard of my favourite Christmas time song. Only which the video quality could match.
Every year since I was a kid I'd play this recorded video tape, and then I discovered RUclips as a teen and has been my tradition to watch this, the blokes are the best at it 🙌 back when carols where good hahahaha
Oh wow. My favorite christmas hymn performed by such a talented trio. In this year of covid it is so nice to enjoy a tribute to a joyous season. Thank you.
I've only just found this!! Not sure how I missed it on TV - I was probably playing at a carol's gig elsewhere. I grew up with David Hobson in Ballarat, and he was a rock/pop singer back then!! It never feels like Christmas until he has sung at one of the Carols on TV 🙂
I really like the tempo - it makes the ritardi more interesting. I know these guys must be famous down in Australia (I have heard the name Hugh Jackman, anyway), so they're sort of kidding around, but they are - in spite of their lightheartedness - doing a very nice job.
Australia!!- Are you so proud of these guys?!!- the orchestra, these actors and yourselves for being the people who put this show together and were the audience who appreciated it!- One of my favourite Christmas celebration songs and how beautifully executed here! So merry, so fantastic! Australia, you are a gem of the world
I lead a blessed life, and part of that blessedness is being afforded the opportunity to sing with the most talented people on earth. This Christmas special was an example of this "sharing of voices" to proclaim the birth of Jesus Christ, Hugh Jackman's personal Lord and Savior. I was thrilled to exchange stories with Hugh between costume changes concerning the Holy Scriptures and our mutual faith, and, of course, our mutual love for shark hunting. As you know Hugh has a ravenous appetite for shark (or "sharkies" as they are called down under) and loves to hunt them on his own terms, by hand. When the Christmas special was over everyone picked up their wraps and coats, walked outside in the cold air, departed in carriages, or some in their cars, and vanished into a black night, thinking of something we knew long ago. #comedy #reformedtheology #davidhobson
hi David Hubson i know this is a long shot but i will take my chances, is there a way to get an instrumental of this version, i am a trained singer and would love to to do a recording of myself singing to this specific version thank you!
Daniel Parziale Yes. From Wikipedia: Jackman has described himself as a Christian and a "religious person".[76] He meditates daily and follows the spiritually eclectic School of Practical Philosophy.
I love this song it's one of my very favourite song, this version is dam super good and fantastic, from last night I heard this performance more than 100 time still listening very great composition and great performance ever, merry Christmas in advance..
This has become my absolute favourite version of this song. The tempo, the intensity and richness, the excitement they bring … all other versions seem weak, dull, and dragging. This version is kings going to a major event!
Reminds of a similar programme from 1988 and broadcast from London. This programme was a show stopper - there were 12 peers of the realm in the the 12 Days, and similar such actors in this one time only broadcast. The closing was a blessing given by the Cardinal Archbishop of Westminster.
Of the three capes, Hugh's cape is much better cut than the other two. It means that it falls in beautiful folds along the front edge, like a cape on a medieval statue. Peter's cape is heavier, regal, and not designed to do that. David's cape is much too light weight. It needs a heavy satin lining.

One shining star to make the world bright, One infant Child on that wonderful night, One little prayer for those we hold dear, To bless you at Christmas and all through the year.

1. We Three Kings of Orient are, Bearing gifts we traverse afar, Field and fountain, Moor and mountain, Following yonder Star. Chorus O Star of Wonder, Star of Night, Star with Royal Beauty bright, Westward leading, Still proceeding, Guide us to Thy perfect Light. Gaspard. 2. Born a King on Bethlehem plain, Gold I bring to crown Him again, King for ever, Ceasing never Over us all to reign. O Star, &c. Melchior. 3. Frankincense to offer have I, Incense owns a Deity nigh: Prayer and praising All men raising, Worship Him God on High. O Star, &c. Balthazar. 4. This looks like Carols by Candlelight - every Christmas all capital cities in Australia have it. This was probably the one in the Domain in Sydney - possibly Christmas 2005.
They are song and acting really very good because them originally experience persons. Our church Queen of Peace in Singapore Three King Feast day I became King Balthazar and used to sing same song.

One of my favorite Christmas songs, performed so greatly by these three men. Love Hugh Jackman.❤️👍🎄🎄🙏👋👋
Hugh is so gorgeous, I love his singing voice. This is some great stuff. I wish Hugh would come out with a christmas album. I would love it.

In case anyone's wondering this is from 1998's "Carols in the Domain" Christmas special.
The one performance I never knew I always needed.

This is the most brilliant performance ever of this classic Christmas carol.pity the video is so poor
Absolutely brilliant work
How can Hugh look so natural in a cape...

Realmente es la mejor versión de We Three Kings
1. We Three Kings of Orient are,
Bearing gifts we traverse afar,
Field and fountain,
Moor and mountain,
Following yonder Star.
Chorus
O Star of Wonder, Star of Night,
Star with Royal Beauty bright,
Westward leading,
Still proceeding,
Guide us to Thy perfect Light.
Gaspard.
2. Born a King on Bethlehem plain,
Gold I bring to crown Him again,
King for ever,
Ceasing never
Over us all to reign.
O Star, &c.
Melchior.
3. Frankincense to offer have I,
Incense owns a Deity nigh:
Prayer and praising
All men raising,
Worship Him God on High.
O Star, &c.
Balthazar.
4. Myrrh is mine; its bitter perfume
Breathes a life of gathering gloom;-
Sorrowing, sighing,
Bleeding, dying,
Sealed in the stone-cold tomb.
O Star, &c.
5. Glorious now behold Him arise,
King, and God, and Sacrifice;
Heav’n sings Hallelujah:
Hallelujah the earth replies.
O Star, &c.
