      Hi mate, thanks it’s a nice place to call our base that’s for sure 😊

    I loved the way you've done what you want and not just copied others. I've also kept our 4 year old Troopy as a 5 seater and similar layout in the back, but have just started considering doing a rooftop conversion for more remote trips where we don't want to tow our Tvan or caravan. This video is great news that you can keep the 5 seats and still get a Mulgo conversion. I'm trying to keep it all as light as possible because weight is the enemy so kept the skinny tyres, and no bar work or extra tanks.

      Thanks mate, yeah it’s been a bumpy road to stay true to ourselves but so far we are happy with the results. Yeah the old weight problem 🫤 she going to be heavy this one. Will be keeping a close eye on gvm. We will see how the trip goes and if we reconsider things when we get back 👍🏼

    Late finding this but glad I did. Waiting on delivery of my new 78 and only just sussed that you lose the rear seats with the popular other roof option. Subscribed and watching all your back catalogue now. Good onya for sharing legend.

    Awesome video mate. We’re about to do a roof conversion ourselves and want to keep the rear seat for our two Samoyeds.
    Can I ask what rear seat cover you have fitted? And is it… grey? Or tan?

      @hookin  5 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks mate 😊 it’s a very cool and exciting modification. It’s a black duck seat cover in tan 👌🏽

    Coming along great! Great brackets for the awning. Good the latches are on the inside, great for bad weather deployment.

    I've been thinking about doing this to my troopy when I get it . With the extra height in the roof for the rear seats , does that mean the width of the bed is less than the normal mogoa ?

    • @hookin
      @hookin  Год назад +1

      No mate width is normal, the only compromise is a tiny bit smaller gap between the bed and rear of the car. But a small price to pay in my opinion.

      Cheers mate, yeah it definitely gives people the option. Doesn’t restrict it to only a 2 seater 👌🏽

    Great video guys. Very informative. One question, what material is the pop top and frame made of? Is it aluminum or fiberglass or something else? Cheers

    • @hookin
      @hookin  Год назад

      Thanks roger, glad that you are enjoying the videos. It’s made from aluminium mate. I will put up a video or some of the build process when I get some free time. The guys at the expedition centre were good enough to capture some content for me so I’ll put together a video 👍🏼
