    Excellent review. I just picked these up today in the 68g spring. They feel fantastic and I dont think I will be lubing them as I only have Krytox 205 g0. This is my first tactile switch and they do feel fantastic but to be honest I did expect them to have a lower pitch with my Drop MT3 WoB keycaps. I am coming from lubed Tealios V2. However as you said, you really need lubed and filmed black inks in you want the deepest thock. My lubed Tealios sound a little deeper than these and I do have films on the way. However I do really like these Boba switches and with the MT3's it looks and sounds (sort of) like a 1970's IBM terminal keyboard.
    EDIT: Lightly lubed the rails and donut dipped the bottom spring with 205g0. Made no difference for me in terms of sound or smoothness. These are excellent switches out of the box.

    I think this is a great "in the middle" of a clicky switch and a tactile switch. In my opinion at least, it's not the annoying part that the super clicky high pitched blue switches make, but it is definitely not subtle as a regular brown switch. That's how I see and hear it at least. And I actually think lubing the switches brought out the tactical "nature" (weird way to put it) Anyways, nice review man!

    Glad to know lubing the switch is not necessary as they sound great already. Got a couple of questions, how's the spring ping and leaf crunch on these? Do you think I'll need to lube the springs? And also how would you compare the tactile bump compared to more tactile switches like Moyu Blacks/Zealios/Kiwis? Thanks for spending time looking at the comments and replying to all of them :D

      Lube the springs; the bump is more rounded than zealios/kiwis

    • @AustinV
      @AustinV  3 года назад +2

      I would say lubing the springs isn't as necessary on these switches. Since they come donut dipped already, there's a strong chance you won't hear any ping from them.
      Significantly less leaf crunch/ping than lubed zealios and about the same as lubed kiwis. Haven't used moyu blacks before.

    • @AustinV
      @AustinV  3 года назад +1

      From my personal experience, the bobas are the most tactile. The bump is large and also very sharp at the same time if that makes sense. The kiwis aren't as sharp but still have a large bump. Compared to the other 2, I think the HP actually has the smallest bump, but it's all relative.
      If you've only ever used browns, it's going to be a big shock I think. Browns have very light springs and a negligible bump. You may find your fingers getting sore pretty quick.
      If you're afraid of these switches being "too tactile" maybe try out an ergo clear or something similar like the dragonfruits or naevies

    Hey Austin I have a question, I’m thinking about buying these switches from ringerkeys. These switches come in packs of one, so I was wondering if each switch comes individually packaged, are they?

    • @ryan0808
