You gotta understand that the character and the person playing the character aren't the same. I personally don't like roman reigns, but I think Joe is a pretty cool and nice guy. People have hated the character because WWE booked him to win 90% of his matches, he always won even when he didn't need the win, he was always shoved into the title scene no matter what and on top of that they tried to book him like a Cena clone, which just doesn't fit him very well.

No one hates Roman, people hate Vince McMahon and the creatives for consistently putting him in the main event. And he’s always the top guy, and others don’t even get a chance to shine.
There was a time when fans really did hate him. Maybe not him as a person, but definitely as a wrestler. If you watch his entrance the day after retiring Undertaker, there's no way you can claim that they're only mad at Vince.

I have nothing against him personally but he seems like a nice guy but I dont think he'd be pushed as much as he is without his cousin. I loved him when he was in The Shield but he's not really charismatic. If he works on his promo skills & doesnt bulldoze all his opponents, I think fans will like him more. He definitely has potential, just not all there yet. Hope im not coming off as a RR hater
