This is why Vince pushes him the way he does. He’s smart, respectful, massive in size and the women and children love him. He is perfect for the face of a company. You’d want someone like this to represent you. Unfortunately because of this they dictate his character and what he should say. If he can be more of himself and not the Roman Reigns character he would be way more accepted.

He should be portrayed more as a vicious but still benevolent "loose cannon" (similarly to his prime with The Shield) than a complete babyface such as John Cena or Hulk Hogan: it just doesn't fit his combat style or his looks

Also acting like they didn't have Rusev straight up do the Iron Sheik as a fake russian a couple years ago.
I remember as a kid seeing The Rock doing the People's Elbow and thinking "Man, throwing your armband into the crowd, running across and dropping your elbow on them is an insanely powerful attack." Or seeing him sell a Stunner then flopping around like a fish.
It's truly a showman game.
For me it was Rey Mysterio dropping his opponent onto the second rope, then running and doing the 619 I get so excited when he goes to do that and if he gets intercepted I get so disappointed. That’s the beauty of wrestling.

@@cheetah00715 me too once I started to understand the subtle things in match it took out the surprise for me but it oddly kept me intrigued. Like being told the ending of a film as you're walking in because after that you're trying to piece it together and how it gets to that point.

The best way I can describe it is that most times if you're watching a magic trick the technique, skill level and ability the magician behind it is 200x more intriguing and intricate than the actual trick itself.

It’s not accurate for the majority of WWE what you described was Working a match which Is more of a Japanese wrestling thing now days like Jericho vs Omega 1 was almost completely just worked on the fly with only two or 3 planned spots
I can understand why Reigns is hating on Steel Cage matches. I thought he had legit broken his neck in his Steel Cage match with Brock Lesnar.

Yep, I'm so glad others noticed. At least Sabu's uncle got some more exposure on a mainstream platform. Vanity Fair viewers, go check him out if you want to see some ahead of it's time stuff. He threw fireballs at his opponents, and yes they were all ok afterwards.

I met Roman one time at a meet and greet. He was a pretty nice guy. I jokingly asked him to Superman Punch me but he refused to break kayfabe and just replied with, "I don't do that to my fans." I've met a few wrestlers over the years but he's the only one that didn't break character. I can respect that.

David Arquette was always a wrestling fan with respect for the business, but it's fair to call him a real wrestler now. In the last few years he's taken some crazy shots and has trained hard with Peter Avalon to get himself some fundamentals. And even back in the day, he spoke up to put guys like Booker T in the spotlight more while he was associated with WCW. A class act that I hope continues to succeed (don't get hurt, pal).
