It is a tick. Most likely a symptom of mild Tourrette syndrome. My uncle has it. A bit stronger but still a mild form with no barrage of expletives.

I do think it is usually a mistake to turn a legendary comic strip into a TV show. I still love the Dilbert strip, but the show did change the way I read it. (To be fair, it was a pretty funny show.)

he had a problem with his voice, he wasn't able to talk for a long time and had to undergo surgery to get back his voice.

This was before his voice was affected by spasmotic dysphonia, if you listen to his voice here, it's a lot softer, with more vocal fry. Now watch interviews with a young RFK Jr. before his voice was affected by spasmotic dysphonia. Similar soft tone with a lot of vocal fry. I wonder if vocal fry contributes to the cause of spasmotic dysphonia.

I missed Charlie Rose's interviews. Fortunately I watch Dave Rubin, Joe Rogan, Scott Adam's and others now. I avoid corporatist TV news unless there's a natural disaster in our area.

I suppose it would help if I spelled it correctly.
      I corrected the spelling. Thanks.
It depends on the context. For a more detailed answer look it up in a search engine.
But in a broad general use it is similar to an advocate or a lobbyist.
Many people confuse capitalist with corporatists. Capitalism is a system that allows individuals to open a business and fill a need, whether it's a coffee shop or a janitorial service to a large manufacturer they are loyal to the market they are serving. Unlike corporatists who are advocates and loyal to corporations, industry, political and government organizations.
Journalists are loyal to their corporate masters also, but should also be "speaking truth to power".
In 1791, "Freedom of the Press" was installed as the First Amendment by the founding fathers to resist the British authorities prohibition of information and any criticism leveled against them.
Most recently our press either suppressed or outright censored information that criticized the political establishment.
Too many to list, here are two recent examples:
Robert Kennedy's views on vaccines and
Hunter & Joe Biden's source of income from China, Ukraine. Russia & others.
      Peace.

The thing about bosses that drive people wild is that boss is the only person who can first of all ruin everything you work on , can blame you for it and then thirdly can punish you for screwing up. Nobody else in your life can do that to you.
