Let me help you here. Because I've been seeing a lot of content in this community lately in this regard. 1. Use Linux mint as your primary OS. 2. Get a SNES and a PlayStation 2. 3. Enjoy.
I will disagree with Aaron on the Writing I like my RPGRPG you gotta have a good story. Fortunately, most Japanese RP have good stories and hot chicks so I’ve been alright
I think vox day wrote a couple of books on this particular topic. His advice is just as helpful and should be included in the removal from and keeping out of the game studios these crazy proglodytes.
7:05. There is a reason 0bama was called a community _agitator_ , rather than a community manager or community organizer. Also, Becky is not holding a company hostage. The only one holding a company hostage is Karen.
AAA publishers are not in the business of selling good games; they are in the business of selling marketable ideas to investors, with the games themselves being a side product. All those HR/admin/CM/etc positions are low-risk yes-men that they hire to show investors that they “have a lot of people working on the game” without having to hire actual workers. These “employees” also bloat the budget, which can appeal more to major investors than a properly-budgeted game would. And if the game fails to make a profit? They can pass the blame onto the consultants that they hired as professional fall-guys.
I've worked in gaming for almost a decade. Started in Customer Service, did some Community Management. From a player's perspective, most community managers are shit. Good community managers are people you don't even realize exist. Great community managers are people you actively look forward to engage with. I'd say in gaming about 60% of community managers are garbage. 35% are good. 5% are great.
Not an RPG fan Cappy? Writers are important for story-based games. Not every video game is Astrobot or Minecraft. And there are plenty of Japanese video games with great stories. Japanese gaming hasn't been infiltrated by woke nonsense like the West has.
Professional game developer here - I do coding, game design and a bit of project management - giving you some insights: 1. Project Managers - most of them are clueless and useless sacks of shit, this role should be an extra task for the most senior developer or designer in the team. 2. Game Designers - hit or miss, some of them are idiots with dumb ideas which are difficult to implement by game developers, others are great creative minds, who come up with the big picture and then work on every detail. Developers often offload onto them tedious trial and error kind of tasks, like weapons and enemies balancing, props and items placement, improving the game after playtesting, difficulty progression, story and gameplay pacing etc. 3. Writers / Narrative Designers - some of them are quite talented and useful in games that rely heavily on story and dialogues. Definitely need them if making a game with deep/serious story (The Witcher, The Last of Us, Detroit) or with fun and quirky jokes and banter (Uncharted, Saints Row). All other games don't need them, as regular game designers can handle simple story and dialogues. 4. Game Developers / Coders - a significant part of them are not capable of designing good game mechanics, they're builders who need an architect to draw them blueprints. 5. Artists - a lot of chaos and mental instability here. They definitely need someone to watch closely as they work, as they're quite prone to get perfectionist or just unorganized. 6. Community Managers - only useful during pre-release marketing campaigns and if you have live-ops games.
Hey guys, but I like me some mind blowing stories in my games. Hotline Miami, Metal Gead Solid (minus the quirkiness), some indie games, have completely blown me out of the water… they wouldn’t have without writing taken in mind. Plus, games with a story tend to have an ending… can’t play games that never end anymore.
I really like games with good stories. But nowadays I find that I prefer games with emergent story-telling - where the gameplay is sufficiently intricate and complex that you generate your own stories while playing. RimWorld, Dwarf Fortress, StarSector, Caves of Qud, Kenshi, that sort of thing.
My teenage daughter plays almost only indie games. She appreciates the excellent graphics of the games from the big companies but doesn't think that they worth paying $65 for the game instead of $15. She's not exactly annoyed by the wokeness of the games from the big companies but has commented on the trans characters and some bits of dialog and such.
community manager = commissar
When is Dogs & Demons due to be released?
AKA "Wallet Season"

Bulldog with rage boost
That Dogs & Demons game idea sounds COOL
Where can i buy this demons and dogs?
Sounds better than anything released in 15 years.
Professor Umbrage looks like a Minnesota Karen? Bwahahahahahaha!!!! True!

You like ubuntu?
Cross your fingers that Linux mint doesn't go "woke" like a lot of other distros. With that said, the connection between #1 and #2 is emulators.

Thats crazy. Why is there so much blatant left wing propaganda in gaming? How did sports games avoid all this crap.

Yet. The cancerous tumors are trying to latch onto the overseas media.
Wait till bro learns about BRIDGE
The goal of it is to make the DEI practices a part of every employee, not just the HR people.

If you're a Lord of the Rings fan, Return to Moria wasn't bad (once they fixed the glitches)
Yeah it was alright
Check out indie games if you want some good stuff. That's our last, best hope.
